“A bit more attentive staff needed”

It's a bit noisy over the shopping area but the rooms make up for this. as we were travelling around the island on a short break. Breakfast here is great everything you could ask for. Staff perhaps could be a bit more attentive when using the restaurant.

Luxurious from start to finish, food was the best we've ever tasted, the facilities were in excellent condition and the hotel a work of art. Every staff member we encountered were extremely polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We went for my partners 30th birthday, balloons, cake & prosecco were put in the room for a charge which he absolutely loved, they left 30 balloons in the room whilst we were out exploring. The hotel is also in an extremely convenient location, there are plenty of amenities nearby. The clean was always clean and tidy during our stay. The breakfast is divine and very tasty.

I was recently in this hotel and I liked hotel and room are beauteful and breakfast was very taste and rooms are quite and it's possible to rest but the swiming pool was very cold and they didn't want to heat the pool even if oursite was 21degrees and when I asked to make it little warmer they said isn't possible even when they talked with director on my request,was refused my request and that is very frustraiting when customers pay so expensive for hotel and stuff try to save money not to heat the pool waiting the pool will get warmer from sun and for this I woudn't recommend this hotel because I can get sick from cold weater and they don't care just to save money.

I recently stayed at The Vine Hotel and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the location is excellent—very central and convenient for exploring Funchal. I was initially unsure about the hotel being situated within a shopping centre, which won’t appeal to everyone, but having a supermarket on the lower level and a coffee stand offering lattes for less than €2 was incredibly useful. The underground car park is another major advantage. Parking in Funchal can be both difficult and expensive, so having plenty of available spaces at the hotel removes a lot of stress, even when arriving back late. Housekeeping staff were friendly and did a thorough job. The rainfall shower was spacious, and both the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The water stations were also appreciated. That said, I wouldn’t consider this a 5-star hotel. The room was clearly in need of maintenance—shower fixtures were misaligned, and there were visible gaps and holes around fittings. Reception staff, specifically the male team members, came across as standoffish and not especially helpful. Room service was average at best and took a long time. Guest information also needs updating, as I encountered conflicting guidance. For example, the information stated that late check-out could be requested prior to the day of check out for a fee. When I asked the day before departure, I was told to ask on the morning of check-out. The next morning, the reception desk was unattended when I went down, so I couldn’t follow up. In a 5 star hotel, I would expect staff to note the request and proactively provide an answer. Overall, while some of the facilities are a bonus, the poor service and maintenance issues mean I wouldn’t choose to return if visiting Madeira again.
