We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Benalmadena Palace hotel. Yes its on a steep hill, but there is a free courtesy bus service. Yes there were a lot of small children running around until late, but the entertainment team kept them occupied. We stayed half board & was able to switch lunch for an evening meal for a little variation. The food was excellent quality & drinks acceptable value, but great value during happy hour! Our balcony looked out over a little garden and the pink path down to the Supermarket, which we used a few times. The highlight in the evenings for us was the Bingo, quizzes, Flamenco, Spanish Guitar and local Costa del Sol based singer Laura Elen. Karaoke was fun, if a little late starting, but brilliantly hosted by Natasha & Jesus. The others that stood out for us were Bar staff Monica, Manuel & Benjamin plus Belen welcoming us each day in the restaurant. The room cleaning team were thorough & left little notes with sweets & towel art. Thankyou for a wonderful holiday.

“Only visit if you have children as it is all around kids”

Firstly only come to this hotel if you have kids under 7. It is nothing but babies and toddlers screaming most the day. Firstly only come to this hotel if you have kids under 7. It is nothing but babies and toddlers screaming most the day. It is not as advertised for couples and if you come as a bigger family it's only for those with little ones. All focused around kids. It isn't a quiet peaceful resort for couples. The pools are small for number of guests so lots of the babies end up in the bigger pool so don't expect any real swimming as there's no room. They do different activities like an inflatable slide, tell everyone on sunbeds to go back, kids push in and the pool just isn't big enough for these activities. Also this is dangerous, saw numerous kids slip over hard from sun cream and water mixed. I've seen comments about the life guards. The issue I believe is some are all inclusive, some are bed and breakfast, some are half board. That's the issue with having own food and drinks around the pool. It's being fair. However in my opinion, the drinks are over priced example over 2euros for a small water. We were all inclusive and people at breakfast do steal food which is not crime of the century but bit of a cheek to all inclusive guests. We paid for ours. But again too many options they should just do all inclusive or bed & breakfast not so many options. If they see you take food it will cost you 9 euros each. Quite amusing as it's so obvious who is stealing food. Food- breakfast best meal of day. We didn't enjoy the food at all. All inclusive drinks are ok and some are branded but we don't really drink. You can't get overally intoxicated as they reserve right not to serve you. Good idea. Plates in restaurant are tiny. Pretty ridiculous. I know about food waste but who wants to keep going up especially the men. There are signs about wasting water too. Hire towels for 10 euros deposit. Waiters mostly very polite, only one we found who was rude repeatedly was a woman called marcrena. Who doesn't crack a smile and can be rude. But the only one. You can queue to get into food hall, do your hands with gel as you go in and out. It's not peak season but when it is I guess it will be longer queues and lift waits. Uploaded photo. Snack bar food is better than restaurant. But if you pay it's expensive. Location is good and the shuttle man was lovely, always smiling as was the shuttle guy who dropped me at pharmacy and waited for me. I was very grateful. There are 3 stops, the last stop is Santa ana beach by the windmill. Supermarket called Dia out back of hotel, down steps by side of kids pool and follow pink path. You'll need your band or card to get out the gate. It's a slight walk back up not ideal for elderly or the ill. But good for coffee, milk etc. The hotel is kept clean and the bar staff are mostly nice, not enough sun umbrellas due to room. But we never had issues getting one. Entertainment is geared at families. It's pretty dire anyway. Beny will appear sometimes. Please bear in mind your balcony is next to others. There are signs up everywhere saying shh. This is for a reason. Be mindful of your neighbours. Maids are good. If you want a bath, start it the day before as it takes so long to fill. Even says if you want a bath in the room, ask reception for a plug. Luckily we had one in the room already. Shower gel and shampoo on wall in bathroom plus hairdryer but just cheap. We had ironing board and iron, plus fridge. There are books all Dutch and German so if you have any spare leave them in reception on the bookcase. Newspapers don't trek to find one as it's almost impossible so ask reception. Reception are very good especially the lady, very helpful to me. Most disappointing thing was the food. Italian night ? Really ? Nothing was Italian unless you count pizza. Regret not just being bed & breakfast. Good points the location though up a hill, the shuttle bus which recommend you book. Most comfy pillows (best thing) Wouldn't return to this hotel as the food wasn't worth the AI money, the portions were tiny and so were the plates. Noisy corridors and people on balconies at all hours and if you are a couple without kids, it is just constant screaming kids. Not relaxing. It is ideal for little kids but can be noisy. Recommend the beach for day out. If AI ask for a packed lunch Please like if this has helped you..
