Hotel Riu Chiclana - All Inclusive

“Excellent hotel”

Friendly staff who work tirelessly to keep the accommodation clean and in-check. We’ve previously booked on four other occasions and cannot fault a thing. Already booked for 2027.

Amazing hotel would definitely return. Staff are very attentive, service is excellent. Activites through out the day for children. 5 pools to choose from. great buffet and shows.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Riu Chiclana and would happily recommend it to families. The highlight for us was the fantastic range of children’s activities. The entertainment team did a great job keeping the kids engaged throughout the day, and the pools were excellent, with plenty of space and something for all ages. Our little one had an amazing time, which made the holiday even more enjoyable. The food was good, with lots of choice, and we always found something we enjoyed. The only slight downside was that after a week it became a little repetitive, but the quality was consistently good. The hotel itself was clean, well maintained and the staff were friendly and hardworking. The only area I think could be improved is the in-room refreshments. It would have been nice if bottled water was topped up in the room each day rather than having to carry it back from the 24-hour bar. Likewise, the tea and coffee supplies weren’t replenished during our stay, which was a little disappointing for a hotel of this standard. Overall, we had a great holiday and would definitely consider returning.

I stayed in Riu Chiclana for two weeks and have quite mixed feelings about it. Rooms are generally clean and well equipped. The problem is however that the family room is rather small and it makes difficult to store 3-4 bags in them. Hotel is quite big but the whole hotel life happens on a relatively small area including pools and restaurants all located in the central area. This results in that area being very crowded. The garden area is generally ok and well maintained. I don’t know if this is a recent case or not but during our stay the garden got invaded by cockroaches! Haven’t seen them in room and restaurants but a lot in the garden area. Food is generally ok but very monotonous and simple. You have a possibility to book Italian, Andalusian and during the weekend the grill restaurants. These are self service restaurants (as anything else in the hotel) and each day the menu is repeated. Then there is the main restaurant where you mainly get very simple food. What is horrible are the drinks. Those made by bartenders in the drinks machine are very bad (better invent a drink and tell the bartender to prepare it). Wine from the tank is outrageous. It tastes awful. I’ve been earlier in self service hotels and it wasn’t a problem to serve normal bottled wine. Also the water served during the dinner and from the machines has very bad taste. Better go to the lobby bar and take bottled water. Animations during the evening are okayish but nothing special. Sadly the part is only once a week. There is a great beach but no beach service. Overall, for the price asked, unfortunately the experience is insufficient. I’ve been to other hotels in the same area that offered more.
