We did not know what to expect with this hotel as we’d changed our booking from a hotel in Vera Playa, but we were very pleased - it exceeded our expectations. ROOM - was lovely. Very clean and the fridge actually kept stuff cold! The sofa bed was set up for us and it occupied the full width of the living room. The beds in the bedroom were very comfy too. Room was quiet - no noise from neighbours in either direction. We never used the microwave or the cooking stuff There was no kettle, but it was delivered within half an hour when we asked for one. HOTEL - very clean and tidy. Staff friendly and greeted you with a cheery “Hola” (or something in their local dialect that I didnt understand). Reception staff friendly and helpful. Massive spaces in the hotel. It was very popular with the Spanish - unfortunately this meant our boy didn’t make any friends due to the language barrier but it was great to be able to chill out with him. Great games available for kids and adults - Your takings on the pool table must have gone up significantly when we arrived - and the games room. ENTERTAINMENT - as far as hotel entertainment goes, this had some great acts - well….. better than the usual fare. The kids disco was well attended (it was too young for our boy though). A shout out to one of the Kids Reps though - don’t know her name, but she had long curly dark hair and tats down her arms. She was brilliant with the kids and in the kids dances it was as though she hadn’t done them a thousand times before - she kept them fresh. Her expressions acted the character of dance all the way through (even between moves) and she made sure everything was cued up to make the music seamless. She was very professional! BAR: staff were very nice and helpful. Was quite quick service too. Not too pricey either! POOL - it was great that you couldn’t book sunbeds until after 9:00. We never had any problem getting 3 together in the shade even after 10:00. The pool was lovely - quite large. I went on the slides once but being a grown up I almost hit my back in the floor of the pool when I landed which could have caused injury. Loved the waterfall and the fountains. The jacuzzis were adult only and didn’t really do much for me. There was a covered swimming pool downstairs and it would have been ideal after my other half and their son got sunburnt - EXCEPT: swimming caps are mandatory. I must admit, I laughed out loud when I was told this - but yes - mandatory! That pool must be a portal back to the 1970’s! A shame really as it was empty every time I looked round the door. FOOD - my partner and their son are the pickiest eaters in the world - an absolute nightmare!! However, to my absolute relief, we ALL loved the food and variety here. Cudos to you. The restaurant did get a bit overwhelming and busy, but I’m not sure what you could do about that. You are catering for a LOT of people. The young people trying to keep up with cleaning tables and tidying away the used plates did a great job and always had a smile. LOCATION - On a beautiful promenade adjacent to the beach. The beach is gravel so not too good on your feet. This is probably why it was largely empty. If you walk right along to the end of the beach on the right, you’ll find a nature reserve and a beach which is a mix of soft sand and gravel. They allow dogs on this beach and it was populated by a lot of locals. There were a few naturists too but no one batted an eyelid (as a naturist myself it was nice to see such a relaxed culture) Walk to the left along the promenade and there are a variety of restaurants and street pedlars. Across the road from the main entrance is Pape’s Bar - lovely place. Great staff and a great pool table. Great cocktails - just don’t have 3!!! Behind Papes is the Spar (just watch out for siesta when it’s closed) but they have everything and it’s so cheap! A short walk to the left of the main entrance and you’ll come to a small cafe Hakuna Matata. Sadly, we found it the day before we came home. But the lady in there is lovely and so helpful. The tapas are lovely and just big enough for lunch. The vibe is so relaxed. Worth a visit. So yes we enjoyed this hotel - a bit bigger than we’d normally go for, but it was great. OUT AND ABOUT - we only did one trip to Mario World. What a disaster! The waterpark equivalent of Ryanair pay €30 each for the privilege of walking through the gates (even the boy because despite only being 13 he was 1.5m tall) passed the bouncer who is 3m wide and 3m tall (or so he seemed). Once inside, everything is extra: the floats for the slides, the sunbeds (which MUST be bought in pairs), the lockers. It appears to be a bit run down and not very well maintained - metal showing clear signs of rot (not rust or erosion - actually rotted away). It’s also located next to a landfill site AVOID!!

Still here for 2 more days, overall very good/clean, friendly/helpful staff, good location, food very good and always hot, drinks good many shorts are proper branded! We paid for and have a great 4th floor sea view room! Bit dated but clean!! Down sides are only one bar at night!! If you don’t have little ones you don’t want to be watching the mini disco if you want a drink!! There is a bar down near the promenade which madly closes at 6-30 this should be open at night! Much nicer outside are than the bar that is open!! You could people watch all night!! Also there is a reception bar that apparently closed last summer!! The other downside is the size of the swimming pool! No where big enough for the size of the hotel!! Would we return? Sadly not!!
