I went to Protur with my husband and our 3 young children, ages 6, 4 and 2 and my parents. We had the most wonderful 10 day holiday. Everything from start to finish was wonderful! The hotel is immaculately clean, not a speck of little or mess around. Plenty of sunbeds, never fighting for them. We tended to be up around 8am so had pick of the bunch and managed to get a cabana bed most days. Even days we didn't go down to the pool until 11am there was still plenty of beds left and umbrellas on the grassy areas. We had a top floor suite with jacuzzi bath which was amazing, with stunning views of the sea, beach and pool it was a perfect spot. The balcony was massive, which meant when the kids were having nap times, i was able to do some sunbathing on the sunbeds on our balcony. We had two separate rooms in our suite with a sliding door between them which was a nice change for a family of 5 like us. the only thing that i would have liked was if the balcony doors could be locked, this made me nervous that the kids might try open the doors and get onto the balcony unsupervised in the night. We managed to solve the issue ourselves buy wedging a chair in the way but a lock would have been more reassuring. The mini bar in the room was free and restocked daily which was a lovely touch. It was my 30th birthday while i was there and Protur made a conscious effort to make it special. They brought a cake up to my room, a fruit platter and then we booked the alacart Asian for the evening where they sang happy birthday and brought out the cake for me which was lovely. thank you for these little touches! i used the spa for a facial and full body massage while i was there too. This was done wonderfully and i felt very relaxed. My skin felt so nice afterwards. Accessibility- my Dad needed to hire a mobility scooter due to reduced mobility. We emailed the hotel prior to our stay who gave me the details of a nearby hire company. They dropped it off at reception and he used it every day for the whole 10 days, it made a holiday possible for him and the whole hotel was fully wheelchair accessible so we are really grateful for this. Thank you The entertainment staff, the kids staff were great, my kids went to kids club a few times and enjoyed it. They loved the free face painting on some of the evenings too. I liked the way the park/kids club were fully visible from the entertainment tables and chairs, meaning I could give my 6 year old a bit of freedom to go to the park with his newly made friends all whilst being able to watch him from our seats. little things like this, you don't appreciate until your a parent! My 6 year old unfortunately did have an accident whilst playing basketball in the kids pool and cut his chin open, the lifeguard quickly patched him up with the first aid kid and recommended stiches.. The hotel quickly arranged a taxi to take us to the medical centre and they called ahead whilst we were on the way to arrange an appointment. The hotel staff were really helpful in our minor 'emergency' so thank you to all staff involved. All of the food was lovely, lots of variety and choices. The breakfast i have to say was my favourite breakfast buffet I have ever been to, everything felt fresh, tasty and it was nice having drinks served rather than having to go get them, this is particular nice when you have little kids. I have a severe fish and seafood allergy and all food was labelled and I managed to doge any cross contamination . My only suggestion would be to make the allergy symbols slightly larger or darker, they were a small symbol on the labels in a red ink and wasn't very easily visible unless up close. i had one near miss where i picked up something labelled 'vegetable rice' , it was only when i looked up close to the label that I could see it had prawns in. Of course, this is my responsibility to check, it would just be helpful if they were clearer. Overall the hotel was wonderful. i would recommend to anyone wanting a nice family beach holiday with lots going on at a walkable distance. Thank you to all the staff at Protur, youve got such a lovely hotel. We don't tend to go back to the same location as we like to try new places but we are going to try another Protur hotel in a different place as we loved it so much !

We returned yesterday from a week staying here. This was our second visit but first with our two kids. Firstly would say that I disagree with comments that hotel looks dated. We found the facilities very modern. We were very pleased that the daily fridge stock was still in place and this was a great addition to the room we all enjoyed having a cold drink whilst relaxing in air con. We found the buffet restaurant had a huge variety of options. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed the different themes at dinner. The pool buffet at lunch was also brilliant and the paella delicious. The hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean and the staff really friendly and welcoming. You are never without options for food and drink. We didn't do many activities as mainly in the pool although my husband and son won the archery and thoroughly enjoyed. We are so pleased we came back to this hotel and we would definitely rebook in the future. Highly recommend.

Let’s get the obvious out of the way. This isn’t a 5 star hotel but in fairness, UK based travel agents don’t market it as such so it shouldn’t come as a surprise. The hotel staff are very good. Across the board from room service to bar staff to restaurant staff, all working hard. It’s a hotel that very much caters to Spanish guests. Not a criticism at all, just an observation. Overall staff are very accommodating for those who don’t speak Spanish though. My personal view is it’s a hotel for families. I don’t think it’s one for young couples or singles. I would recommend for families wanting a chilled, laid back experience with a nice splash park, timetable of activities, and mini disco. The animation staff work hard throughout the day and the water Zumba and aqua-aerobics with an array of Reggaeton songs, were a lot of fun. The beach, which couldn’t be any closer, isn’t great for small children, with its shingle beach and rough water but it’s very convenient. On the plus side, a few trampolines and bouncy castles are set up on the beach in the evening, and there’s an arcade with small soft play very close to the hotel. The sun bed situation isn’t great. You’ve zero chance of getting a poolside sun bed unless you get up earlier than you would for work. There’s a stack of sun beds and parasols which you need to collect and then find a space on the grass area. The whole set up is random and higgledy-piggledy with sun-beds pointing in all directions, occasionally blocking access etc. Not so bad for young families but I saw older people struggle to set up in the morning. The pool seems small at first but it’s perfectly adequate for the hotel size with some nice water features and has a fantastic lazy river surrounding it. We were the Hotel Bahia Serena side of this hotel which is an extremely loud hotel that kept playing incredibly loud music until midnight. If you’ve booked I would recommend asking for one facing Hotel Best Roquetas side of the hotel. The food is varied and mixed, but the quality is occasionally poor. Breakfast has an array of choice but the cooked breakfast is watery and greasy. The buffet mains are generally ok, as are the Spanish meats and cheeses. I’ve read people say it’s loud but it’s the same as any other all-inclusive experience. There’s a pool bar which serves burgers and other things which were decent, and means you can eat poolside. Ice lollies and stocked up mini-fridges in the rooms are great touches, as are the self service drink stations. We ate in the Asian restaurant and I thought the tuna steak was lovely. Likewise our choices in the Italian were also nice. There’s a bus stop close nearby with a bus that goes twice an hour to Almeria. Reception will give you a timetable. You can also book excursions we the Jet2 and Tui staff including to Mini Hollywood which is expensive but very fun and unique. Also there are a few places to eat and drink across the road if you fancy a change from the hotel. In summary, very helpful staff in a clean, family friendly hotel.

We had a lovely family holiday at Protur Roquetas Hotel & Spa. The hotel was great, with plenty to keep the kids entertained, especially the splash park and lazy river — both were a huge hit with our boys! The food was really good, with plenty of choice throughout our stay. We also loved the self-service beer and the great range of cocktails available at the bar — definitely a nice touch for the adults! The bouncy castle on the promenade in the evenings was another big hit with the kids and gave us something fun to do after dinner. The beach was okay, although it is quite stony, so I’d recommend bringing beach shoes. The water also gets deep quite quickly, so something to be aware of if you're travelling with younger children. There isn't a huge amount to do around the local area, but if you're mainly looking for a relaxing family holiday with a good hotel and plenty for the kids to enjoy, it works really well.
