I have been visiting the Hotel Playa de la Luz since I was 17 years old, and for me, it is much more than just a holiday destination; it is a true haven of peace and happiness in Rota.Throughout all these years, the consistency in the quality of service has been simply impressive. The greatest treasure of this hotel is, without a doubt, its team. The professionalism, extreme friendliness, and dedication of the entire staff — from reception and dining services to the housekeeping team — are exemplary. We were welcomed with genuine warmth and care that makes all the difference in any guest's experience.The beachfront location is fantastic, the facilities are well-kept, and the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing. I highly recommend Hotel Playa de la Luz to anyone looking for a perfect stay, with the certainty that they will be treated with the utmost care.Thank you so much to the entire team for continuing to create unforgettable memories. I will always return!

“Relaxing holiday, stunning part of Spain”

We had a really lovely stay here. The pool area was really lovely, very tranquil. The food at both dinner and breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and very tasty. All the staff were really friendly. The hotel is immaculate. Gym was OK, treadmill, some decent weights, kettlebells etc. The beach club wasn't open while we were there, Shame as it looked lovely m We were told via WhatsApp that all the rooms had a kettle, however ours did not. I did ask at reception and they provided one! Fab walks nearby, the lovely boardwalk through the pine forest (be sure to call in at los pinos for a drink) , and the beach to Rota. Nearest shop was a tiny corner shop ten minutes away, we only saw the hotel shop open once. The beach bar beside the hotel was super cheap and a great place to watch the sea! A local cafe nearby called Liberto's showed sport on the tvs and my husband got to watch his beloved premiership football. We did trips to cadiz on the ferry and el Puerto de Santa María by bus. Both worth a visit! We had such a relaxing stay and would definitely return!

A very typical spanish hotel but well modernised in the public rooms. Our bedroom was quite small and in need of updating, a very small balcony equipped with a small table and two chairs, but also two sunbeds stacked but really quite impossible to use such as the size of the balcony. The room was kept really clean each day by the hardworking maids. All the staff were really friendly and seemed happy in their work. Food served for both breakfast and evening meal was very good. A huge variety and choice, especially the evening meal. All of a good quality. The bar was a pleasant place to sit in the evenings after your meal, some nights there was entertainment. The bar also offers light snacks during the day, also good quality. Pool area was kept beautifully clean wirh many seating areas. As the hotel is laid out in large open areas each area offers a space for quiet relaxation. The hotel is situated about a 30 minute walk from main town of Rota, a lovely board walk stretches along the beach, very peaceful to walk in a nature enviroment. The roadway takes you along the main residencial area but the bus runs frequently just from the top of the main drive of the hotel which takes only about 10 minutes into the town. Rota is a lovely town worth exploring the quant winding streets and little squares leading down to the port where you can catch a catamarran or bus to Cadiz,. A trip worth doing, a lovely city. The hotel reception has timetables for the buses and transport times for the ferries. Reception staff are also helpful and friendly. A visit to this part of Spain is more relaxing and reflects the Spain not so touched by tourism. A beautiful beach stretching miles to walk along. Unfortunately rather chilly for a swim when we there. We had a pleasant stay at this peaceful hotel and would recommend to anyone wanting a stay in a quieter part of Spain .

It's very nice, but not showstopping. There is a pool and access to the beach and on-site bar and restaurant. We used very little of the facilities because we were in Rota visiting friends and out every day. However, one morning we paid for a €15 buffet breakfast and it was excellent. I'm glad I didn't pay for it every day as I wouldn't have fitted in my clothes going home and Spanish tostadas are the best and cheapest breakfast option available in most cafes. My only reservation was how we were spoken to one evening in the bar. It was by a member of staff who excelled in patronistation and condescension, rather than hospitality. I voted with my feet and left, resolving not to spend my money in a place that took away any comfort or feeling of ease. He possibly wasn't Spanish as almost everyone else was reasonably friendly and polite. I think my overwhelming feeling of the hotel is that I wouldn't return as it feels as if it is quite snobbish, and if I had been able to book our first choice of hotel, we'd have been much happier. One think to note is that it is very clean and that's always appreciated 👏
