We had a lovely holiday at Alcúdia Beach Hotel. The staff are lovely, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are basic. They had been cleaned but not to a high standard. One pillow was dirty and the floor hadn't been vacuumed. There was food waste in one of the kitchen cupboards, all easily remedied but a minor annoyance. The room has a small entrance with enough space for shoes and outdoor clothes. The largest area contains a kitchen/ diner/ lounge. We were two adults and two 9 year old kids. The adult bedroom is separate from the rest of the space while the kids are supposed to be on the guest beds in the lounge but this means you cannot utilize the kitchen, diner or lounge once the kids have gone to bed, so we had to swap sleeping arrangements. We asked for mattress toppers for the extra beds as they were very firm. The bathroom also had a glass door which illuminated the rest of the room when in use so it was hard to use it without waking up other members of the family. There was a balcony with a view but many guests use them to smoke so we we didn't use it much. The bathroom had two sinks, a toilet and a shower. The shower screen leaked a lot of water onto the floor so we used a towel as a floor mat. Fresh towels are supplied daily, except Thursdays and Sundays when there is no room cleaning. However, when I asked for fresh towels from reception, they were delivered to the room. The food served at breakfast and dinner was excellent, it varied daily and we were happily stuffed each day. Meat eaters are very well catered for, fish is also regularly available. Not many veggie options but there were vegetables and fruits to accompany the meals. There was a small selection buffet for lunch and we were able to get fish or veg based meals every day. Pizzas, veggie burgers and hotdogs were available upon request and the staff were very focused on helping you with any dietary enquires. I heard other guests ordering gluten free meals. The pool was nice, we were in the shallow pool which was 0.35m - 0.95m. The deeper pool was 1.6m there was a very tiny space for babies. There were plenty of sun loungers available. There was an outside bar serving the pool area and an outdoor dining area a few meters away. There was a kid's disco scheduled each night but this was very poorly facilitated. When our kid tried to attend, the one member of staff responsible had forgotten about it and was still playing football elsewhere. Minor grumbles aside, it was excellent value for money, we had a great time and we would happily visit again.
