My wife, 11 year old daughter, 7 year old son and I have just returned from a wonderful week at the Puerto Del Sol. A big stand out was the Animation team. Their enthusiasm across a variety of games and activities; including, french boules, archery, water polo, crossfit, yoga, table top games and 'cocktail games', helped create a community spirit amongst guests who chose to participate from across the continent and beyond. Perhaps as importantly entertained our children and enabled us to play together during those fantastic long lazy pool days. Matthias, Tilio, Chloe and Marion are a credit the hotel. We found the food to be consistently very good. If one wanted to be ultra critical it could be pointed out that we've found more choice on individual evenings and across the week elsewhere. I would say there is just about enough variety to keep it interesting. We had no issue finding a outdoor table each meal time with a view that far exceeds the expectation given the excellent value for money. The hotel is split over several levels and the only lift is from road level to the restaurant. My wife suffers from a heart condition but still managed to navigate the accessible ramps and stairs, we found the overall footprint small enough that it wasn't an issue. The location is another feature. We were lucky enough to be allocated a room on the 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking the marina; a couple of hundred boats ranging from luxurious yaughts to smaller vessels and a good selection of restaurants and bars. The pedestrianised central Cala D'Or area is about a mile away; either a pleasant walk around the marina and another 10 minutes, a €6 taxi or the Cala D'Or Express land train that stops at reception. Beers, slush and fizzy drinks are self service which works well and means the only queues are for spirits and mixers at busy times. We would all recommend a visit and hope to return ourselves

“Cleanliness”

Hotel location amazing, breakfast and lunch were OK, dinner not so much (also drinking wine from a tumbler!!!!) and we ate out or had a later lunch. Hotel location amazing, breakfast and lunch were OK, dinner not so much (also drinking wine from a tumbler!!!!) and we ate out or had a later lunch. Pool was lovely but a few people didn't clear up their plastic cups or plates with left over food, these were left over night and 90% picked up the next morning. Our main issue was our room, we stayed 12 nights and our room was cleaned and bed and towels only changed on day 3 and day 10. We were complaining to reception and promised that it would be resolved but it wasn't so we had to keep going to reception for clean towels and toilet rolls! Not what I thought I would be doing. Someone was going into our room as our door was left open twice but I think they were only checking the bathroom bin. The potential of this hotel is endless and thought it would be nice to have restaurant where you could pay a small charge for a better dining experience.
