Returned home from a week’s stay at Ferrera Blanca. We booked direct through the MarSenses website. From the moment we arrived we found all staff to be very friendly and helpful, especially guest services Militsa and Amine in the restaurant. Every day Militsa had a chat to check everything was ok with our stay. Our room,Q301, was perfect. Spotlessly clean , with no issues and the most comfortable bed & mattress. The tv on occasions turned itself on but this was never an issue! The buffet breakfast & dinner was plentiful, continuously being refilled. Amine offered us the specials every day, we can recommend the pancakes at breakfast! There is a pool side bar with service, for during the day. Entertainment was provided on some evenings and a lady playing a harp with breakfast one morning. Would recommend booking direct as you have the opportunity to choose your room.

“Great chilled out holiday..”

What can I say another superb stay at this hotel. I can only speak as I find and have never had any issues with this hotel ...that's why we have been 12 times over the years, twice in a year most times. What can I say another superb stay at this hotel. I can only speak as I find and have never had any issues with this hotel ...that's why we have been 12 times over the years, twice in a year most times. Any issues you may have Aline is brilliant and always does her very best to help resolve them. It's super clean, relaxing and a great choice of food with a specials menu as well, you cannot go wrong. We have never experienced any issues with sunbed wars and there are pool towels available to use no charge. The hotel has always been nice but it has improved so much over the years and I would recommend it for a lovely chilled out holiday 😊.

“Disappointingly not quite 4*”

The coach transfer was longer than advertised due to being the last remaining people on the coach for the last drop off. From collecting baggage to arrival was 2 hours! Private transfer is about 50 mins. On arrival, we were handed an access card and told to go down in the lift, take our bags 100 mtrs down the street, across the road and into the adults only complex and no concierge. The access card gives you access to the complex and your room. However we found that anyone can access the complex by leaning over the low gate and pressing a gate release button, so card access is a waste of time. The room is quite comfortable with a very large bed (which after a couple of nights, we turned around ourselves because the mattress was badly sunken on both sides). There is very little hanging space and all shelves are open. There is a kettle and coffee machine, but you need to buy capsules or tea bags etc. The small fridge barely works, so water etc is not kept cold and the air con is restricted to 18 degrees or above. The shower is not very powerful and is not easy to regulate. The sink tap is extremely stiff to operate. There is the occasional smell of sewage in the room which seems to coincide with the room above flushing the toilet. On arrival, one of the bedside plugs and one set of room lights and the telephone did not work. The bedside socket was repaired…then failed. Repaired again….then failed. It does however now work…..if I switch the room lights on which did not previously work. I now just unplug the coffee machine. We could not get the safe to work, so I walked back to reception and on asking back at reception, we had to pay €30 to use it. The staff are all lovely, polite and mostly cheery. Nothing is too much trouble. I struggle with arthritis in my hands and struggled to use the thin round cutlery, but on explaining this, they found a flatter more suitable fork. The food is pretty good, with an excellent variety at both breakfast and evening meals, with daily “specials”. Drinks and water can be charged to your room or paid for at point of service. (There are no water fountains, so it’s pay, tap water or buy from the local spa). The pool is clean with plenty of Sun beds and nice to see touch of “no towel reservations”, which is mostly adhered to. Plenty of towels available by the pool. As you have paid the premium for adults only, you are not allowed to use the all inclusive family side of the hotel, but you can use a neighbouring bar/ restaurant near the beach, where you get 10% off. (We only found this out when we went there, as there is no literature in the rooms on local attractions etc). We did however notice people with arm bands from the family side sunning themselves in the adults only area today! There is music playing around the pool. It is on a usb stick and by day 2 we were beginning to learn what comes next, as they are on a constant loop. It also appears to only have one volume, so is not entirely relaxing background music. When I asked, the staff said we were lucky, we only had to listen to it for a couple of weeks! Having mentioned this to the evening host, the usb must have been changed, but only for one day as we are back to the same one at ex same volume again today! There has been a variety of live singers, pianist and a “disco” one afternoon! Sadly and disappointingly, there is no lounge or comfortable area to sit, so once you have eaten your evening meal, you either sit at your table, have an early night or go elsewhere. There are a few bar stools, but they are at a “false bar” and we never saw them used. This means there is very little use or revenue from the bar which is supposed to be open until 23:00. We were a bit mislead or did not research the location. Firstly, it is not in Cala d’or as expected from the adverts and is a good 20 min walk to the marina. In order to get to the marina, or any other cove, you have to walk through streets of “kiss me quick” shops full of the same pool floats and bars advertising English breakfasts and football on TV. There are other coves to walk to, but only by the same routes past shops, bars and houses, so don’t expect nice cliff or coastal walks. By day 6 days are were wondering if 10 days is too long, but at least the sun was out we were having a well earned break from our house renovation. We have traveled to multiple destinations around the globe, staying in a variety of standards of accommodation, from 7* to camping, so we feel that we are well placed to comment and always try to leave an honest review.

This hotel has some excellent reviews. In fact they played a part in my booking choice. I have given in my opinion a generous 3 stars because the room and most if the staff at this hotel were what we expected. The restaurant and some of the staff were not. The food was never more than warm, plates were cold. As an adults only establishment I would have expected less bulky cheap food such as pizza (with virtually no topping) chips, tasteless pasta and cous cous. There was always a meat and fish option but these were sometimes inedible being dry and tough or luke warm and under cooked. The waiters in the restaurant did not seem to care the so much food was left on plates. We had been at the hotel 3 days before we were told there were breakfast specials, I asked for avocado with a poached egg, when it arrived the egg had a white skin on it but was otherwise raw and liquid. I left it. The same thing happened the day after and the day after that. I mentioned it at the table of course, and was asked if i wanted another one but I just got some food from the buffet instead. The waiters were always very busy and I didn't want to spend my holiday complaining. I could go on with further examples but suffice to say this hotel did not live upto previous reviews and our expectations sadly.
