We had a fantastic family beach holiday at this hotel and would happily return. The hotel is in a fabulous location with stunning views across the bay. The beach is clean, sandy, and perfect for families. The sea is crystal clear and warm, making it ideal for swimming and light snorkelling. There are plenty of lifeguards on duty, which made us feel safe, and the local facilities are excellent. The buffet breakfast and evening dinners were both outstanding, with a great variety of fresh, tasty food every day. We didn't stay in The Level section and honestly didn't feel like we missed out. The main facilities were excellent. The pool was clean and a great size for families, and there were always plenty of sunbeds available. The only thing was the room was a little small for a family of three The staff were all lovely, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay, making us feel very welcome. Overall, this is a wonderful hotel in an excellent location for a relaxing family beach holiday. We would highly recommend it.

“Great Cala Galdana”

I stayed at the hotel from the 15th to the 25th of July with my family . It’s our third visit to the hotel . Check in was quick & efficient. I booked two supreme Cala Galdana view rooms . The bedrooms had been refurbished & were much better than they were previously. We stayed in rooms 531 & 532. They were in a good location . The only complaint I would have is they have a curtain instead of a door into the bathroom . It would be better if it had a door . I’m assuming this is down to cost . The pool area & main restaurant desperately need updating . The reception area will soon need updating too . We ate in Cap Nao one lunchtime & we found this restaurant lacking , where in our previous two visits it was very good . Some of the previous staff were working at the hotel & they recognised us , in particular my Grandchildren which was lovely . My Grandchildren went to the kids club sometimes & they enjoyed themselves when they were there . The only slight disappointment is that the kids club do the same activities year after year . We will probably come back to the hotel as we love the location & views . The views in particular are amazing .

Our stay at Meliá Cala Galdana was, unfortunately, a huge disappointment. We chose this hotel expecting a premium experience and paid extra to upgrade to The Level, but it simply did not deliver the value we were led to expect. The Level Lounge was one of our biggest disappointments. We were surprised to discover it closed at 6pm each evening, just when many guests would actually want to relax with a drink before dinner. We also weren't made aware that it was a family lounge with children permitted throughout the day. Had this been made clear before booking, we would never have paid the additional cost for the upgrade, as we were looking for a quieter, more exclusive environment. In reality, we used the lounge very little because it was often busy and noisy. Our room was another let-down. We were allocated a very small corner room with an exceptionally small balcony, and despite enquiring about alternatives, no upgrade options were discussed with us. For a hotel that markets itself as a premium destination, we expected far more attention to detail and a greater focus on guest experience. The service was inconsistent throughout our stay. We were initially advised that a late checkout would not be a problem due to our late afternoon flight, only to be told on the day of departure that it wasn't possible after all. While we understand late checkout is subject to availability, the contradictory information caused unnecessary inconvenience, and the way the situation was handled lacked empathy. Perhaps most concerning was an incident on our first evening when my husband was subjected to threatening and abusive behaviour from intoxicated guests. Although we appreciate that hotels cannot control every guest's actions, it had a significant impact on our holiday and left us feeling uncomfortable for the remainder of our stay. The hotel itself is in a beautiful location, and there are many positive aspects to the property. However, the overall experience did not reflect the premium standards we expected. Better communication, greater transparency about The Level facilities, and more attentive customer service would have made a significant difference.
