First time in Cala Bona but it won’t be my last..3 of us went, 2 with slight mobility issues so we needed somewhere flat and accessible.. Hotel Cala Bona was exactly as described, and our experience couldn’t have been better.. From the reception to the domestic staff, all friendly, helpful nothing too much trouble.. Pool bar staff ( Claire) go above and beyond.. Beautifully clean everywhere.. Meals were excellent, always a good choice, some freshly cooked while you wait.. All in all not one complaint from any of us.. Well recommended

I forgot to write this review earlier in the year so here it is . There was nothing majorly negative about the hotel overall we had a lovely holiday. I found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Everything was always clean. I travelled with my two children 5 and 11 ask my parents who are around 70 it was during school holidays and there wasn't many children there. The pool was absolutely freezing in April but they did allow the children to go into the indoor pool between 10:00 and 12, which I thought was brilliant you just have to put your name down so it didn't get overbooked majority of the time we had the pool to ourselves. My dad used the sauna a few times and again it was hardly ever in use and because of this they told him just pop in 1 hour before and they were pre-warm it up for him which I thought was lovely. It is downstairs and I don't think there was a lift. There are towels available free of charge and we forgot our pool noodle and they also provided one of those free of charge to borrow. One thing I did like about the outdoor pool is that some parts of it are only about a metre deep so it enabled my five and 11-year-olds to be in the same pool Which is great as a single parent and it had steps into it rather than ladders. This was a massive plus for me. The lifeguard was on the ball. The entertainment was definitely geared up for older people. It was always very busy. It sounded quite lively. Due to having the children I split my evenings between Sanddancers bar a. Which is less than 5-minute walk away. They have an Xbox and lots of colouring things for children they had a '60s party on a Sunday which was fab. They have lots of karaoke every night and do happy hour with John Smith which my dad was very happy about. We also want to a bar called Jemca which was also okay. They have a small park and a bouncy castle and a small crazy golf for the children the only thing that put me off about here is I would ask for a certain drink and they would bring me something else EG. I asked for a Fanta and they brought me a cheap drink which was awful. When I went to the bar to pay they had Fanta in the fridge. Obviously neither of these bars are related to the hotel but just some ideas of somewhere else to go with children incase anyone was expecting the hotel to have kids, entertainment or mini discos. For being the beginning of the season, the small little problems I encountered were: Shower screen fllithy of watermarks. The mirrors weren't cleaned all week. My floor in the room. My little one's white socks were absolutely filthy in about 20 minutes. I do just want to add I didn't report any of this at the time because I do not like to complain. I did complain about my fridge being so noisy and that will sort straight away so I don't doubt that if I did report the cleanliness it probably would have been resolved. The water pressure on the shower was amazing. The Pool bar quite expensive for a snack but we did order a jacket potato and it was a good size portion. Quite expensive for lunch but on par with all of the restaurants about £10-£12 for a sandwich could do with just a cheese toastie or something. They could probably do with adding some hooks in the rooms. Maybe behind the door and I would have loved to have had a sweeping brush in my room because kids create crumbs or sand and I hate bits on my feet. One morning I tried to book a boat trip with the reception in the process of doing this the Tui rep who we hadn't seen before tried to tell me to book it along the road with another lady who we have visited the day before and was more expensive. He also told me the boat trip we wanted to go and wasn't running when it was as we booked it and paid for it and went on it at the harbour. We were checked in very quickly when we got there we stayed in the hotel that has the restaurant on the ground floor. I paid extra for a Seaview which was definitely worth it. It was beautiful. I didn't notice any noise or anything in the evenings and I didn't go out every night with the kids. One touch which I absolutely loved was they took our suitcases to our room for us. The reception called us a number of taxis which were also really cheap and they arrive within minutes there's also a taxi rank at the end of the road. Cost us about 7euro to Calla Millor most of them were happy to let my 5-year-old sit on my lap as well so we could all get in one taxi. The reception staff will also very informative about a number of things. The food was fine, definitely something for everybody never had a problem. We had a really early flight and the restaurant was open from like 5:00 a.m. or something to enable you to get something to eat. It was cold food but it was something. I think there was some harm and cheese and stuff. There are lots of shops outside but I recommend going out of reception and turning right and at the end of the road on the left is a supermarket Super market on the corner on the first day one my mum came out of reception and turned right and then turned left and it was a Spar shop and it was so expensive. The supermarket also has lovely fresh baked bread daily. I bought butter etc when I arrived and then went and got fresh bread daily and ham for lunch. The beach at Calla Millor was absolutely lovely. It was a lovely walk of about 40 minutes all along the seafront. There is seats every 5 minutes for anybody that struggles to walk. We did eat out a couple of times. I would say there are not really any deals anywhere. We ate at I think it was called Smithy's out the front of the hotel on the corner. The food was nice. It was about 15 each. I can't remember how much I paid for the board trip but we went on the 4-Hour glass bottom boat. The kids got really bored I couldn't quite work it out but I think there is an option to get on and off the boat at different locations. The caves were a nice sight. The market was probably the worst one I've ever been to but that is just down to my preference. It wasn't what I was calling tourist market. It basically sold scarves granny knickers jewellery and it was all really expensive. I can't remember the price of a taxi but I think it was 20 each way. Definitely not worth it and there was nothing else there. Overall it was a great holiday for a week. No complaints. Not sure if I'd go again with kids. It feels like a lovely safe place. Fantastic for an older generation as well. It won't let me upload all of my photographs so hopefully the ones that are uploaded are helpful.

“Outside bar staff”

Good hotel, good food. Great position on the harbour. My only gripe is one of the bar staff. Went to sit down only to have him shout and point to sit nearer to where he was standing. Even one of his colleagues had to restrain him. I think his name is monolo. If I've paid over £4000 .I'll sit where… more
