This is a brilliant hotel. From the moment you walk in everything feels calm and relaxed. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The food was excellent. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The pool was really good and the sea was only a five minute walk away. We could not fault the hotel. The buffet evening meal was definitely worth the money with so much choice, all beautifully presented.

“A Disappointing Incident During an Otherwise Enjoyable Stay. Credit to Management for Their Response”

My family and I have been visiting Helios Apartments for around 15 years, and there are many reasons why we continue to return. The apartments suit our needs perfectly, the location is excellent, and overall we’ve always enjoyed our holidays here. Unfortunately, this stay was overshadowed by a serious incident. Despite having a Do Not Disturb sign displayed on our door, a maintenance worker entered our apartment while we were asleep and then came into our bedroom. This was extremely unsettling and left us feeling uncomfortable and concerned. What made it worse was that it affected my sleep for the remainder of the holiday, as I found myself worrying about whether somebody could enter the apartment again without permission. There were also a few other frustrations during our stay. We received repeated morning calls asking about room cleaning, often around 9am, to the point where I eventually unplugged the room phone. We also found stains on bedding that had been presented as clean, which was disappointing. The sunbed situation around the pool continues to be an issue. I have noticed that the hotel has introduced signage stating that reserving sunbeds is not permitted, which is a positive step and shows they are aware of the problem. However, the rules could benefit from more consistent enforcement, as guests still reserve beds early in the morning, making it difficult for others to find available sunbeds later. That said, I want to recognise the way the hotel responded after I raised my concerns. Natalia from Guest Experience contacted me personally, apologised sincerely, confirmed that the incident is being investigated, invited us for breakfast and dinner as a goodwill gesture, and offered assistance with a future stay. Her response was professional, understanding and genuinely appreciated. The unauthorised entry into our apartment should never have happened, and it has inevitably affected my overall view of this stay. However, I do appreciate that the hotel has taken the complaint seriously and made an effort to address the situation. I sincerely hope lessons are learned from this incident because Helios has been a place we have enjoyed visiting for many years, and I would like future stays to reflect the high standards that have kept us coming back since 2010.
