Just got home from a truly magical week in this beautiful hotel. The staff were absolutely wonderful! From the reception staff, our cleaner, the cooks and entertainment staff but the real stars were the restaurant staff. With what seemed like a small number of them they looked after us all with smiling faces and kept the dining room spotless which I really appreciated. I am not usually a fan of all inclusive food as it can be a bit boring and samey but the food was fabulous. Very varied with wonderful seafood and fish nights which were our favourites. My 14 year old son loved all the steak and grilled chicken and fish. I loved all the fresh salads and dressings and also the big selection of cheeses. The breakfasts were amazing with lots of different types of egg, continental of all descriptions, creamy porridge with selection of different seeds and toppings (coconut, hazlenut), chirros with chocolate sauceand a big selection of pastries. For me the best part was the location. You walk down the steps from the swimming pool terrace to the sea and for anyone who like snorkelling like me you can swim along and see loads of different fish. Also recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise - have to be naughty and climb over the locked gate to the steps to do this. The salsa dancing lessons in the evening with the entertainment staff were fun but would have been good to have the dancing going on a bit longer for the teenagers. Also, shouldn't have more entertainment staff than restaurant staff. Restaurant staff were doing far more than their share of the work I felt. Share the staff out more fairly please. There is a spa shop at the sister hotel at the bottom of the resort (nowhere near as nice as the top hotel) which hires out cars at a good price so we had a lovely day trip round the island one day. Overally highly recommend this hotel and thank you so much for a really fun holiday.

This praise applies to every single staff member at Cala Verde: the front-office, back-office, restaurant, room cleaning—just fantastic. “Overall an enjoyable holiday suited to families of all ages”

We have just returned from our trip, staying here from 26th Oct - 2nd Nov. This was the last week of opening. We travelled as a family group of 12. Ages ranged from 6 to 69. We arrived reasonably late to the hotel after a late flight and unfortunately check in took 2 hours! When we finally reached the front of the check in queue, the receptionist was super friendly, explained everything clearly and gave us all a bag with refreshments and drinks as we had missed the slot for the evening meal. As a family of 12 we were spilt into 4 rooms and all placed in the ‘Cala Blanca’ site of the resort. Myself, my husband and our 3 children were allocated the ‘inspire suite’. It was extremely spacious, very modern and clean. We were provided with clean bath towels daily and there were beach towels for all of us located in the bathrooms. We had a large balcony with table and chairs and a clothes airer to hang up wet towels etc. In the room we had coffee/tea making facilities and a mini fridge (mini fridge was warm). The down side to our inspire suite was the bathroom privacy. The toilets and showers were surrounded by frosted glass and the doors wouldn’t really close which meant privacy was non existent and the floors would flood when showering. The other members of our party unfortunately didn’t have rooms quite as nice as we did. Run down, small, and not provided with beach towels/ duvets etc. The resort is set over a large plot and there’s lots of walking in between each of the areas. The plot is quite hilly and there are lots of steps. This was quite tricky for my husband who was unfortunately on crutches after an accident before our holiday. We were able to use the facilities in the Cala Verde plot too, however we personally stuck to Cala Blanca. Other members of our party did try to book the Al a carte restaurant over at Cala Verde, despite being told they could only book from 8am the day before - when trying to book, they were informed the restaurant was full and no further bookings could be taken. The hotel is right on the beach front, however there are quite steep steps down to the beach. There were sun beds on the beach available for hire, but we always found plenty of space without needing to hire any beds. Around the pool we were fortunate to be able to sit on loungers, however I think if we’d have been here in peak season - that wouldn’t have been the case. The swimming pools aren’t heated so at this time of the year they are extremely cold, making swimming less enjoyable. There was a smaller indoor pool available which wasn’t much warmer. We felt that the pool side was missing a little bit of atmosphere - having music playing around the pool would have made a big difference! The Entertainment team are what makes this hotel! A special mention to Marco who always made the effort to come over and say hi and get the kids involved! The evening entertainment was fab with the entertainment team running a mini disco followed by a show/games nights. We were fortunate enough to be staying during the Halloween weekend, the Halloween horror house was incredible - so much effort had been put in, costumes were fab and the whole family enjoyed it. In the evening there was a Halloween show/party which was also incredible - full of choreographed dances, costume competitions, face painting, a 360 dance floor and plenty of opportunities for everybody to join in! There are opportunities to join in with activities during the day and there is a kids club that runs for children age 3-12. Our youngest daughter went to the kids club most mornings and loved it! The team speak lots of different languages and cater for all children! We only had one restaurant available to use when we visited which worked out ok. There was lots of choice, plenty of fresh salads and fruits, a large selection of desserts and fresh fish/meat being cooked fresh on the grill. Breakfast time had an extensive range of cooked breakfast, continental breakfast, porridge, pastries and breads. We were able to find a table easily either choosing to sit out on the terrace on inside the restaurant, however again in peak season I think this wouldn’t be the case. Pier who worked front of house was very welcoming and attentive - our daughter enjoyed learning Spanish phrases from him each meal time. The location is very remote. A small spar shop and a souvenir shop on site but everything else would require transport. There was car hire available but this wasn’t something we used. Overall our stay was pleasant, we were lucky to have great weather and I think we were fortunate to have the accommodation we did.

“Pleasant, fun, low fuss family stay”

Cala Verde Cala Verde is set in a hillside on the coast in the North-East of Ibiza. Our stay was very peaceful: there is music (commercial pop) played for much of the day by the pool but we didn’t find it intrusive. It is a 3 min walk down to the beach and you are a long way from the party towns. The clientele was a mix of Mix of British, German, Dutch, French and Eastern European. In the room we had (a basic family room) the beds were very comfortable, shower good enough and the staff were extraordinarily welcoming/friendly. As for the hotel and ‘vibe’. This is a VERY family-friendly hotel. The vast majority of guests had children <12-13yrs old and most much younger. There are a lot of kids club activities with the multi-lingual entertainment team, but our kids didn’t join in. Instead, they got involved in the bingo, towel-folding (!) & water aerobics alongside watching the adults water polo, volleyball and the daily ‘crazy’ game to win prizes. The All inclusive deal was pretty good: a few cocktails, beers and wines included while soft drinks are unlimited & self-serve 20m from the pool. The food is fairly basic in terms of flavours but plentiful and lots of options. The salad bar is comprehensive, fresh bread and fresh fruit all tick the boxes but it is the prevalence of fairly basic pasta/pizza/chips that might take the gloss off. There is fresh fish and meat cooked by the bucket-load, but for the most-part, it isn’t a quality I would be happy to pay for in a good restaurant. The gym had a great view, free weights, cardio machines and 3-4 multi-functional weight machines. No olympic lifting bars, but some yoga bands etc. Small but you can construct a decent workout in it. Cala Blanca was a very different vibe…a LOT more people, more ‘Brits-abroad’, soda machines weren’t self-serve and there is a two drink limit per person, so you can’t just order for a family of four with your wristband…which is somewhere between nonsense and unnecessarily painful. From that limited experience (one evening exploring the wider resort), our review would have been far less favourable. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend being in Cala Verde over Cala Blanca, although the walk to the beach is further.
