Chilled and child free boutique style destination was what the doctor ordered. Immaculate views and stylish quaint buildings. Lovely large sized rooms in the apartment with a terrace and courtyard. The bathrooms were very clean and modern and the bedrooms were cleaned daily. The hotel staff were excellent, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was buffet style but with fresh “ to order “ eggs . The pool is very clean but a little cold…the hot tub is a great addition and the honesty bars were a great idea. The internet connection was also top notch. The photos don’t do it justice though…..gorgeous hotel and with a very safe feel as well.

“One of a kind”

A wonderful hotel, the very best with spectacular view over the hills. Very professional and friendly hotel managers and staff. Perfect cleaning and excellent large rooms. Great pool overlooking the mountains. Private parking for guests. Met several returning guests.

I don't think I've ever used the phrase "faultless" in a review. On the grounds of the helpfulness and enthusiasm of the staff to go above and beyond, not just to be seen to be doing so, but clearly as part of their DNA , San Tanqueta deserves that sixth blob. The attention to detail starts, literally, at the entrance gate. And have you ever seen the way the place-settings are laid out with such precision at a Buckingham Palace dinner? I watched the staff lining up the sunloungers using the bolted parasol bases as a template so that they weren't just placed approximately, but exactly. I could go on about the detail, but such attention to that detail is an indication of how the whole place is run. Each morning it almost feels as if you're the first person to ever use the pool area. Add to that the spotlessness and cleanliness of every area and it absolutely maxes-out everything it could possibly offer within the bounds of what's available. And it's all done with such pride and dedication. A bit of a gushing review? Well, there's not an inaccurate word in it. I wish I'd got everybody's name, but high praise to Kimi for getting us into a restaurant at 24-hours notice that's booked up so far in advance its website is a holding page saying they're not taking reservations. To Mabel for her concern and contingency arrangements when it became apparent there was a risk of our flight home being subject to a long delay or cancellation, to the breakfast and cleaning teams for friendliness and thoroughness. That just left me with my one awkward moment: in a near-cashless era I didn't have nearly as much hard Euros with me as I'd liked to have left as tips (which are taxed at something like 40% if paid by card). Fornalutx and the surrounding area? A picture can paint a thousand words, but that's not enough. The views are stunning, Fornalutx not overrun with tourists, and those who do visit are largely considerate. Parking is difficult if you're visiting for the day, but coming and going by bus or taxi is straightforward. Despite all the recent protests relating to "overtourism", local people and businesses stressed that the issue elsewhere on the island is oaf-ish quantity while quality and respectfulness is what they all want (and get) in Fornalutx. That means some of the restaurants are expensive and require reservations sometimes days in advance, meaning the brainless hoards from the party towns stay away, but standards are excellent. I'll review those restaurants separately. Not a complaint by any stretch, simply advice: Sa Tanqueta urges guests to rent the smallest car they can. Parking is tight, generally, in Fornalutx, and that's reflected in the car park at the hotel. By way of guideline, we booked a Toyota Aygo, which would have been ideal, but (the impressive) Enterprise car rental welcomed our first booking (after decades with the unreliable and slapdash Avis) by double-upgrading us to Seat Ibiza - they had nothing smaller available for the duration of our stay - which was just about manageable. Somebody did turn up in an Audi Q5 which on occasion they simply couldn't manoeuvre into a space so had to park on the road or in the tight-as-it-was turning area. No criticism of San Tanqueta: they give guests plenty of warning.... But it probably says a great deal that we were less than halfway through our holiday before we booked the same room on the same-ish dates. High praise, and you really don't get the impression that their quality of service was anything out of the ordinary.

“Walking in May”

Thank you very much for looking after us so well for our four days. The front desk team were particularly helpful in giving us suggestions for walking, eating and drinking all of which were excellent. The rooms were clean, great breakfast and views beautiful. We will be returning.
