This was my second trip here, Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances it was a family stay of 4 instead of 6 as my 2 children were unfortunately unable to come, Pedro was amazing, from the initial booking to ensuring my girls didn’t miss out he made them a note and arranged some other things for them, Our trip was amazing this year just like it was last year also, for me the food varieties throughout the week were great, the children and adults enjoyed all of it, the facilities from the splash park, the children’s club, the evening entertainment etc were all great, Ignore the comments around the lifts and whatnot, because it’s impossible to please all, the most we waited was probably a couple minutes which when you take into account the 10 floors of hotel rooms this isn’t long at all, the food hall always has space, the pools can become busy but again it’s a family swimming pool not some lane swimming pool, Overall I’ve been twice now and I will happily be returning here again, the location is great located a few minutes walk to the beach, 20 minuets walk to Palma nova beach, at the end of the road there’s an activity booking shop where we booked boat trips and jet ski rides, Great hotel, great franchise, great staff especially Pedro who ensured the booking process, the check in, the stay and check out all ran smoothly and greatly for us all, The staff all recognised me and my family throughout the stay, there was one male staff I don’t remember his name unfortunately but every meal time and with each passing in the hotel he would interact with our boys, he would play games with them whilst being still busy with work he made the holiday that little extra fun for them, we don’t know his name but referred to him as the ‘susu man’ as he would play games with our youngest boys dog teddy which he calls susu, I’m sure this quickly will not take long to figure out neither of the staff want to identify him it’ll be quickly and easily as other members of staff also noticed this and laughed with us and pointed him out during meals, So thank you to the hotel and thank you Pedro for making our holiday your personal mission to ensure the greatness of the holiday for our family

“Must try harder”

Was really hot during our stay - don't forget the sun lotion or insect repellent! 2 x Grandparents 2 x parents and 2 x boys aged 3 and 5 visited for 10 days AI. Room: pretty standard but on the small side. Safe and mini fridge provided as was air con. Shower really nice. Were in 2 rooms inter-conne… more

Was really hot during our stay - don't forget the sun lotion or insect repellent! 2 x Grandparents 2 x parents and 2 x boys aged 3 and 5 visited for 10 days AI. Room: pretty standard but on the small side. Safe and mini fridge provided as was air con. Shower really nice. Were in 2 rooms inter-connected, worked well. Given a once-over every day, all they needed. Did have a leak under the sink one day, reported and fixed straight away. I did find the bed really uncomfortable and found it hard to sleep, but think that's just me.... Food: Breakfast and lunch were good - well I had the salad at dinner and it was really nice. Fresh tuna/salmon/fish in general really good. Boys did not like anything really so generally used the snack bar by the pool. Dinners were either really good or terrible, one day it was inedible. We did eat out as a result (Tom Browns). The main problem we found with the food was that it was not set out in a good way, with say the rice at one end and the chilli/curry at the other. Queues quite bad so food was cold or one part of it was by the time you got back to your table. Sweets and fruit all fine. Think the San Miguel tried to make up for it. Staff worked so hard and just never stopped. Pools: Started at the slides but the boys could only use 2 and wanted to swim so only used the first day. The main pool and small pool are really busy but remained warm during our stay. We always managed to find a sunbed. Main pool was closed one day but there is plenty other things to do. Theme Park: Must have visited the Upside Down house every day, was quite good. Loved the lift and the boys stayed on the body imprint part for the longest time. They both loved the buzzer in the men's toilet and dragged me in to look at it (or listen) The 4D film and The Little Prince were worth a visit if only for the air con, boys loved both. Desparados was the best ever.. Zombies scared our 5 year old Los Banditos was also really good We did end up paying the extra for the golf but it was just too hot and I'm too old for the lazer even though I did go but failed miserably. So not really worth the extra. Boys loved the football area esp at night Entertainment: Our 5 year old visited the kids club once but did not like it, he's a bit shy esp when his brother can't go to the same club. They both went to the soft play and really liked it there. On the stage I thought the entertainment for the kids was not great, I expected a lot better if I'm honest. Mind you I live near Towyn so the boys are used to being able to join in with everything whereas during our stay they were lucky to know 3 of the songs they sang and danced to. They much preferred to just play with friends at the back. They did like the foam party and were lucky enough to be there on 2 Fridays so that worked well. The adult entertainment was not my cup of tea but tbh was really good for those that like that kind of thing (acrobats etc). Staff: No problems, all lovely and friendly. Can't do enough for you so definitely a massive plus. Noise: We overlooked the stage on the 3rd floor, no issues at all. Lifts: Easy to walk from the 3rd floor even with a sore foot and this came in handy as when the cleaners/maintenance had to use the lifts they became packed very quickly. Hard to navigate a pram. But must say we were very lucky. Future visits: We booked a package holiday due to the war/possible lack of fuel/being cancelled so worked out very expensive. If we wanted to go again then I'd book a different hotel for the main part of the holiday and just stay at Katmandu for a couple of days during the week. Don't think I would want to go again but never say never, depends what the boys thought about it lol

“Expensive for what you get.”

First time abroad for my son and I, we joined 9 other family members in Sol Katmandu. Atmosphere was good most people were friendly and accommodating the hotel looked amazing from the outside. We arrived just after 11pm on the 21st July, we were told we could grab some food on arrival which didn't happen and was disappointing especially with children. The room was standard and contained a safe and mini fridge inside a wardrobe which was handy. Our balcony had the best view and we were on the eighth floor. The lifts were small and only 4 of them to accommodate 10 floors, one lift was out of service for a few day's which was inconvenient especially if your up on the higher floors. The room looked clean until you walked barefoot and the bathroom wasn't the best or cleaned during our time there, beds were changed daily but general cleaning was lacked, had to ask reception on two occasions for toilet roll and tea and coffee was never replaced. Restaurant was clean but not much variety, there is only so much pizza and chips people can eat for lunch and dinner, children enjoyed waffles and chocolate sauce, croissants, chicken curry was nice and omelette went down well, outside pool bar served hotdogs and chips everyday, a bit of variety would have been nice. Swimming pool was disappointing and small for the amount people using it, the waterslides were busy with children unoccupied and a few accidents so we avoided this. The upside-down house was a massive hit and well worth a visit or three!, as well as the 4D attractions outside. The beach was stunning and recommended, we spent a lot of time there towards the end of our holiday, we also had an amazing meal on the beach front at a place called Blackbeards beach bar and grill, highly recommend this.. Entertainment was standard more directed at children between 5-8 could have done with a mini disco and something for the older children. I personally didn't find noise an issue considering you're in magaluf and 5 minutes from the strip. We checked out at midday on the 28th and was told to keep the wristbands on so we could still use the facilities as pickup wasn't till 5.20pm. It was disappointing when we went for lunch around 1 ish to be refused entry as we already checked out, after another party member complained they allowed 2 adults in with the children. Overall the experience was great but made by our group, the hotel was disappointing for the amount of money spent just on the accommodation. The attractions there are open to all if you purchase a wristband, so maybe worth staying at a different hotel.
