I am staying in this charming hotel for the third time. The first time was last November for a week and I was extremely comfortable and well looked after. The second time was in March when, after an extremely comfortable and pleasant first week, Spain went into lockdown and I was stranded. The owner went to great lengths to help me get home eventually contacting the British Consul in Palma. The roof terrace was opened to give me somewhere to exercise and I was given the use of a microwave and washing machine. In fact nothing was too much trouble and I didn't feel so alone. This time I am here for three weeks. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner. The beds are clean and comfortable, the bathroom huge and my room is exceptionally clean. I have a fridge and a safe. The roof terrace has been finished since my last visit and is charming. Calas fonts is only a five minute walk as is the bust stop to Mahon. Hand sanitizer is available in the entrance I can certainly recommend staying here, it is delightful

“Lovely, affordable and comfy!”

Lovely little hotel, located in a local area surrounded by nice cafes, and a bus stop 5 minute walk up the road that goes directly to Mao (Mahon). Lovely little hotel, located in a local area surrounded by nice cafes, and a bus stop 5 minute walk up the road that goes directly to Mao (Mahon). Also 30 minute walking distance from Mahon, it’s a straight road so is easy and straight forward. Room was lovely and modern, had a big double bed and AC worked like a charm. Only thing I was sad about was no full body mirror! Us girls love our full body mirrors! Room had a TV with Netflix which was perfect. Hotel also had a nice terrace roof top if you want tea/coffee or just some simple peace and quiet with fresh air. Overall, check in was super easy. Instructions where given well in advance and easy to follow.

I should preface this review by saying that my husband and I are 83 and 73! This hotel is set above a pub on a very busy corner near Es Castell Port (formerly Villa Carlos). It is only about a 5 minute walk down a steep hill to the pretty port where there are plenty of bars and restaurants up until October 15th which seems to mark end of season and choice drops dramatically. Our arrival was difficult as we received all sorts of codes to get into the building (through WhatsApp) and then into our room. We spent about ten minutes trying to open front door but eventually an existing resident was leaving & so we got let in by him. Then there was another code to receive your key card from a key lock box. If, you’re a technophobe this place is not for you. I telephoned Clarice who changed the outside door code and so all was fine thereafter. Everything was scrupulously clean and the room was large with a minimalist Dutch/Scandinavian Interior Design feel to it. The pillows were excellent, (something quite difficult to get in Spain), though, I would prefer my bed linen ironed rather than it look as if someone has already slept in it, but then I’m maybe old fashioned. The wash hand basin was also very good, it actually held water. A good shower and supply of Soap, Shower Gel, Shampoo and Conditioner and a proper hand held hair dryer NOT chained to the wall!! Upstairs, on the fourth floor is a terrace with a summer kitchen for the use of residents and a limited Honesty Bar. Breakfast in an optional extra in your room, Toni’s Bar downstairs serves an adequate breakfast but for us Sa Cala on the port is better and naturally has a beautiful view. Of course, most places have pros and cons and Pardela is no exception. We were promised a safe, I would defy anyone to find a safe in our room, so had to walk around with passports on our person for 4 days. There was no water in fridge and having carried two suitcases up 2 floors one needed a drink of water. Towels. I put a dirty towel on shower floor only to find when I returned that it had been hung up on towel hook again. When in the bathroom, you can hear your next-door neighbours do their business and I assume the other way around. Finally, the waste bin, as guests are asked not to throw anything other that toilet paper down the toilet, I was absolutely amazed that the only bin in the place which was in the bathroom was not emptied once in the 4 days. All sorts of toilet wipes were contained in this bin, as I’ve worked in medicine my entire life, I found this unacceptable and very unhygienic. This is an eco hotel and that is most laudable, but. there a few discrepancies that need ironing out….no pun intended!! This is my 13th visit to Menorca, I love the island. However, there is not a great choice of accommodation in the area so close to the Port but Pardela in our opinion is for the younger folk, who don’t mind climbing floors to their rooms, the early breafasters at Toni’s Bar and don’t mind the noise of a new breed of Menorquians who have motor bikes that sound like aggressive mosquitos.
