I have just returned home on Wednesday from a weeks stay at Sol Palmanova. Before I flew out to Mallorca with my family I read ALOT of reviews both positive and negative and was a bit weary that we wouldn’t have a nice time. First of, the hotel itself is lovely, Sol 2 is only opened at the moment as Sol 1 doesn’t open until the end of the month, this also means the bigger pool was closed during our stay, however the small pool outside Sol 2 was big enough for everyone to enjoy themselves. I did ask before travelling for a sofa bed to be placed in our room for my daughter, the hotel did this with no issues. However, my husband also requested we get a sea view/ pool view room and when we arrived we had a view of the hotel opposite us and the bins out the back of the hotel. This meant our balcony got 0 sun the whole time we were there and didn’t give us the option of sitting on the balcony at all throughout our stay as it was also freezing and in the shade. The hotel room was also very small, we had difficulty moving round (there were 3 of us) to the point that the cleaner ended up loving our beds about as I guess she also couldn’t move around to clean/make the beds. Now, the food. Out of the 7 nights we stayed in Sol Palmanova, we are out at different restaurants 3 times. The food is nice, however options are extremely limited. Compared to other all inclusive hotels I’ve stayed in there wasn’t much choice, a few things would change every day but it would typically be fish and vegetables that would change. This meant my daughter lived on pasta and burger patties the whole time we ate in the hotel. Breakfast and lunch were the same, not much changed each day. While on the topic of food, I had an awful run in with one of the restaurant staff. It was a bald man with facial hair ( I’m aware there are two men of this discription as I seen both working) this man had more facial hair. I walked up to the beer pumps to pour myself and my husband a beer. (We’re from Ireland and my husbands a bar tended so knows a good pint when it’s pulled) I pulled the pints and the man ran up to me shouting “NO NO NO LADY”, took a glass and poured a very bad pint of beer and tried to hand me it, I said no thankyou and took my two pints back to my table. This man then spoke about me to another member of the restaurant staff while my husband watched (he speaks some Spanish so was able to make out some of what was said) the man and the girl he had been speaking to then went on to ignore us the rest of the holiday and refuse to clear our table. Anytime we would go to the restaurant after this he would stare at us and make us feel uncomfortable. My husband also choked on a bit of plastic that was on a slice of salami 🤠 I would also like to point out the ‘snack bar’ is just the leftover food from breakfast/ lunch and dinner (cold chips and burgers and some pizza sometimes) this was ok if you were peckish at night. On our last day the cleaner came to clean our room while we were in the room after my daughter needed to change. She banged on the door and I said hola for her to come in, she came in and argued with me if I needed the room cleaned or not, I explained yes the room needs cleaned and we’ll be leaving in a moment. She yelled back and fourth with me until I everntually just left the room, she pushed past me and tutted and shook her head and began cleaning. We wernt able to change or get the stuff we needed as we felt pressured to leave. The entertainment/ animation team were incredible. The fellas are lovely and great with kids. My daughter was a little too old to get involved in the kids clubs but we saw how they were always including kids that had just arrived and introduced themselves to them and took the timeout to talk to them to get them comfortable enough to leave their parents to do some activities. The actual hotel evening entertainment was also very good, the DJ that came on each night around 10 (depending on who was doing it) was always playing Spanish songs, this meant that the majority of people us dancing and interacting were older Spanish people. It would have been nice to have a mix of Spanish and English songs as a lot of people were hesitant to get us and get involved. Overall, the positives outway the negatives in terms of the hotel, however some of the staff do need to be spoken to and called out on their behaviour as I have seen other people be affected by them in other reviews. If the staff upped their game then the hotel would be amazing.

“lovely for short break”

Just returned from a 4 night stay. Rooms are small but comfortable and spotlessly clean. Mattresses are very hard but that’s a personal preference thing some people may like. Just returned from a 4 night stay. Rooms are small but comfortable and spotlessly clean. Mattresses are very hard but that’s a personal preference thing some people may like. Food available from 8am to 11pm, breakfast lunch and dinner with snacks in between. Good range and variety of food from fresh healthy food to chips and burgers. Entertainment on all day for kids and adults, no pressure to join in however evenings are very much catered to elderly Spanish guests. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel is clean throughout with people always cleaning They Use a token system for drinks and use reusable cups, a bit off putting as no matter what drink you order you get in a brown reusable beaker. Ok for soft drinks but not beer or wine Location is excellent right in middle of palma nova, 100 yards from the beach. Was perfect for short break away, but not sure if I could do a full week or longer as food etc would all become very repetitive

I wouldn't recommend this hotel purely for the quality of food. We stayed for a week and the food was awful we only ate in the hotel twice and had to eat out all the other days and nights. I wouldn't recommend this hotel purely for the quality of food. We stayed for a week and the food was awful we only ate in the hotel twice and had to eat out all the other days and nights. We had pork chops the one night which were pink. The variety of food is very poor and I know people say you get what you pay for but its honestly awful. The hotel in general is however very clean and the cleaners cleaned our room daily with fresh towels etc. You get served at the bar very quick too. The location is ideal to the beach and better bars and food restaurants etc.
