Check in ok. However u don’t get any milk sachets in the room to make your tea or coffee. No black teabags. No room service for food or snacks you have to go to the restaurant. Check in ok. However u don’t get any milk sachets in the room to make your tea or coffee. No black teabags. No room service for food or snacks you have to go to the restaurant. Bedrooms do not have USB Plugs had to go buy adapters & European 2 pin plugs. Had to ask for shower gel as bottle in shower cubical was empty 1 bottle Water only complimentary on arrival there’s a large supermarket 5 mins away. Don’t pay small spar supermarket prices €1.50 a bottle when u can purchase 6 bottles. The Spa was lovely although water in main pool was cold. Too many nudists in saunas for our liking. Not necessary to go nude and keep exposing your private’s then putting your bikini or shirts back on when out of Sauna. Lovely hotel. Staff at breakfast were good but done argued you have to go get yourself cold milk for your black tea. Overall a pleasant stay

“Great hotel, but too close to the Ballermann area”

Visited in peak season in July. Found this to be a great hotel and enjoyed our stay, but it is close to the German party area called 'Ballermann.' Hotel rooms were really big, modern and super clean with large balcony. Restaurants served good food and being able to eat dinner on the restaurant roof terrace looking out to sea was spectacular. 2 large pools, good sunbed availability and helpful service added to the experience + having a supermarket close by was convenient too. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the fact that the hotel was close to the German party district with Megapark. This was not a problem in the hotel, but if you wanted to go for an evening walk along the nearby beach it wasn't very pleasant (big groups of people drinking supermarket beer on the beach, on the boardwalk etc). So this is a really good hotel with great food, great service and great facilities and we enjoyed our stay, but wouldn't come to this area again in peak season.

“Great hotel with flaws”

We stayed here for 3 nights whilst attending a wedding nearby. It is in an excellent location, just a short walk of 5 minutes or so down to the beach and a plethora of bars and restaurants. There is also a Mercadona supermarket within 200 yards of the hotel. The fabric of the hotel is excellent. The main building, housing the reception and bar, is very inviting and well furnished with lots of comfort chairs and sofas. The bedrooms are housed in several blocks surrounding the 2 quite large outdoor pools. We had a Prestige Junior Suite which appeared to be an “accessible” room with wide doorways, a walk in shower in an enormous bathroom , and a rail inside the wardrobe that had a pull down handle to make it accessible for wheel chair users. The beds were very comfortable but the only other furniture was two plastic sun chairs (with cushions) on the massive balcony. The downside to our room was that it was as far away from reception as you could possibly get - my fitness watch recorded it as almost 600 steps, including getting in and out of 2 separate lifts. The only food we had in the hotel was breakfast, which was excellent with the widest possible selection available. The Spa and Wellness Centre was excellent. The gym was very well equipped and had a studio where they did 3 classes each evening. I’ve never done a spin (cycling) class abroad and it was excellent. Toni, the instructor, was a lovely young man and his choice of music and the variation in exercise throughout the 45 minute class was superb. Unfortunately I was only able to do one session with him and I would definitely recommend his class to anyone! The customer experience we had was very mixed. Toni, as mentioned above, was excellent as were all of the staff in the main bar and the Sky Bar. The staff in the Pool Bar by the reception were largely uninterested, seemingly preferring to talk amongst themselves rather than serve customers, whilst it was very mixed during breakfast. My main gripe though was the failure to address the outrageous behaviour of some of the male guests who walked naked around the spa area and would change their swimming shorts by the side of the outdoor pools in full view of everybody else. It clearly happens frequently because when o mentioned it to one member of staff the response was “the Germans often do that”. Well please stop them from doing it!

“Large disjointed hotel, poor restaurant”

The hotel is very large and made up of a few sections joined by lengthy corridors. The positives are the breakfast buffet, the pool and the room. The hotel is very large and made up of a few sections joined by lengthy corridors. The positives are the breakfast buffet, the pool and the room. The negatives are the sprawling cold nature of the hotel, the really poor evening restaurant food, and the poor hotel surrounding area. S'arenal itself is quite run down with few redeeming features.
