It was "tired", but to make up for this is excellent staff, good food, and especially position, portinatx is a lovely quiet place, great beaches, and views to die for. Was hoping to go back this year but it says closed, so presumably being upgraded. Cross fingers for next year!!

I visited the hotel for a week with my mum. After reading a variety of reviews I was apprehensive about what we’d find. I was honestly impressed, the room was lovely and clean and more than adequate for our needs, it was spacious and was maintained on a daily basis. The staff were lovely and the grounds were kept immaculately clean and well kept. There was entertainment throughout the day, although we didn’t get involved everyone seemed to enjoy. The evening entertainment was diverse and while not all of it was to our taste, it was nice to have something to watch. The views from the pool were incredible and the bay a short walk away was beautiful with some lovely bars/ restaurants. People commented on the hill but for me it wasn’t a problem, but I am 37, fit and healthy. My mum who is obviously older took it in her stride, she is also fit and healthy but could understand why some people may struggle. The food was ok, there was always something to suite your tastebuds but you can’t expect Michelin starred within this price bracket. We had an amazing time, as we always do together and met some lovely people which always adds to the experience. I do recommend this hotel unless you’re looking for 5 star luxury.

We are a married couple in our 50's and spent 10 days at the Presidente. We were quite aware that this is a 3 star hotel and pretty much knew in advance what to expect of it. It's true that the hotel and rooms are a bit tired, but it is comfortable, spotlessly clean and the staff are terrific - friendly and very hard working. Food ranged from pretty good to very good - especially the range of fish dishes they served. It would be a very fussy person who couldn't find a good meal from the offerings. Breakfast: Pretty much anything you could want (including fried bread! I love it, my wife tells me it's not good for you...)Lunch: Could almost have been the evening meal - very good.Dinner; Good range of options - there was always meat, fish or vegetarian options.All inclusive drinks pretty good (I think the beer was Estrella). There is a chill out area for adults serving 'proper' made to order cocktails. The drinks are not part of the all inclusive, but they only cost 4 euros for a cocktail - we can't recommend the Mojitos or the boutique Gin and Tonics enough (oh - the G&Ts are 6 euros each, but worth every cent). The chill out area is a bit barren and looks like it they hotel has made use of an unused area, but they've put in some comfy sofas, added a few wall drapes and built a custom bar. There is a fine view of the sea, which we enjoyed while having a pre-dinner cocktail. Nice.Apart from the chill out area (which uses proper glasses), drinks are served in single-use plastic cups. I have no objection to using plastic around the pool areas - it is much safer, after all - but there is so much waste plastic being generated. I think it would be sensible to introduce a re-usable plastic alternative (we stayed in another resort on Ibiza where you could buy a re-usable plastic cup for drinks) - just to keep the waste down, if nothing else.Entertainment is what you'd expect from a 3 star hotel. We don't always go for this, but the times we did we quite enjoyed it (not too fussed about the parrots, but the Mardy Johnny Depps were good).Daytime activities were there if you wanted them (we didn't) but Anna (who ran them) was terrific.Portinatx is great, lots of nice walks and lovely scenery. Bars and restaurants are good (we have a very pleasant paella at the Zulu lounge, overlooking the sea).If you don't have use of a car (we didn't) buses are reliable and cheap (if a little infrequent) and will take you anywhere on the island.All in all a good holiday.

“late summer holiday”

Stayed for a week in September. Hotel is clean but dated, but we knew what we were expecting so it was OK for us. Staff were overall friendly. Entertainment was a bit hit and miss, 3 good nights out of 7. Bingo every night was funny but painful

We visited the Hotel in August 2018 , when we first arrived at about midnight we were given cheese and ham sandwiches (for free) from the check-in desk as it was past 11 and food was no longer available, this shows they care about their stayers, and understood we were tired and hungry, it was a nice gesture. Checking in was easy and efficient. When we arrived in our room, we were a little disappointed as the style was very dated, apart from this the room was very clean and had air conditioning ( which we didn’t have to pay for ) we slept easily and forgave the fact the decor wasn’t very modern immediately as the rest of the hotel was brill. The food was amazing and there was a fair variety each breakfast lunch and dinner time. The pool is a good size and the have an infant pool aswell as a mini water play area for children , I would say, age 7 and under. The nighttime entertainment was not the best but does do a decent job of entertaining the little ones, we stayed for a week and out of 6 nights, we had good entertainment ( such as a parrot show, a comedy show , karaoke night etc.) on about 3 nights of our stay. Most nights they play Bingo and then have a singer for the rest of the night. One annoyance was that it was a pretty long transfer drive from the airport ( 1 hour and 30 mins if I correctly remember ). A positive side to the hotel is that next door to it is the beach! , lovely clear water and lots of small tropical fish near the shore, people were feeding them etc. This is definitely a family orientated hotel, with a kids club large pool etc. Overall we would go back to the hotel as it is not pricey and has amazing food, good location, constant sunshine, good entertainment, Aqua aerobics, water polo, music playing throughout the day, lots of ice cream for the all inclusive stayers, and a small arcade area with a pool table, games, and a football pitch ( but you aren’t allowed on it when the member of staff isn’t holding the football game which is around 1-2 o’clock everyday). Definitely not a waste of your money. There is also a jacuzzi for people age 16 and over , including a gym , mini spa and an adult “chill out” area.
