Very friendly hotel . Staff very helpful . Will do anything for you on Reception, order taxis etc….. note that hotel is on a roundabout- and located 10 min stroll away from harbour and bars & restaurants. Sunbed areas are excellent. Bar / pool area excellent. Entertainment excellent- 3 times a week . We had pillow menu & a stocked fridge . Kettle in room also ! If you want a relaxing, peaceful holiday , this hotel has it all ! Clean , bright & very friendly! Enjoy !!!!!!! And THANK YOU !!!!!

A friend and I travelled out to Majorca for a few days following a few days in The Costa Del Sol earlier in the week. In need of a base away from the noise and excitement of Magaluf, we opted for Portocristo which is a lovely place about an hour from the airport. We picked up our hire car and headed across the island from Palma over to Portocristo with the roof down and the music blaring… The scenery as you drive over was stunning – vineyards, olive groves, undulating mountain ranges and hardly a speed camera in site… Finally getting to the hotel, we were instantly impressed with the availability of parking right outside of reception along with the clean, fresh appearance of the reception area. A large open space with a lounge area to the right and reception desk to the left. The check-in process was a little “too much”… being handed a Samsung tablet (labelled as an I-pad – would imagine Steve Jobs to be turning in his grave at the thought ;-)) to complete several pages of information before being told that we both had to complete the same information. I felt it would have been better to be handed a tablet each to do it at the same time as one another. Most hotels complete all of this data at the point of booking and or take copies of your passports. Anyhow, the receptionist was super friendly and helpful. She took our luggage so we could start exploring the island and gave us a call when our room was ready. Going back to the hotel and up to the room we were pleasantly surprised by how clean and well maintained the whole place was. I was concerned that once we got through the polished porcelain tiles and white-wash walls of reception, we would be faced with less well-maintained corridors up to the rooms. In fact, the corridors were also well presented and light (especially at our end where natural light was coming in through the windows). One note to other guests is that there is a second lift to the left of the main lift in reception – just slightly tucked away near the luggage storage room. Entering the room – it was clean, tidy and pleasantly basic, but had all the amenities that you needed. We had a lovey room with a harbour view but needed to order up and iron and some extra pillows as we only had one each. There was a mini fridge with some complimentary drinks and snacks along with a safe and plenty of room to hang your clothes. The balcony was a nice size and the chairs were comfortable. The aircon was more of a fan than aircon – didn’t really get the room cool - we found it better cracking the patio doors open before bed for an hour to cool everything down and kept the fan blowing through the night. As you know it wouldn’t be a review from me without some factors that weren’t so great… the first is that there should be some instructions on how to use the safe as no matter what we tried we were unable to get that bad boy to lock. When you plugged the kettle in (didn’t matter which socket) the room’s electricity fused… Thankfully there is a fuse box in the room so after trying each plug socket we just gave up and decided it was easier to visit Starbucks. Shortly after getting ourselves settled in and frequenting the local Macerdona store in the neighbouring town of Cala Dor for some “snacks my friend decided to take a shower ahead of me. He ended up having to build a dam out of hotel towels to stop the flooding shower tray from also flooding the hotel room… an undertaking he nearly succeeded with but not quite. I went down to reception as the phone didn’t have any instructions on how to reach them from the room. I tried all the usual numbers but none of them worked. That’s said, reception sent up a maintenance guy within ten minutes, the housekeeper was up with new towels and additional pillows and then had to come up again with the mop to clear up the bathroom, our hallway and the corridor outside the room all of which were benefitting from all that surface water. What I love about all of this; is that despite their being issues, the team were all super quick to respond and get them resolved – we even ended up with a new shower head and hose as part of the deal. We didn’t opt to have breakfast in the hotel, or any other meal for that matter – but the restaurant area looked clean and as though there were some nice buffet options. The pool was great – plenty of availability of sun beds, and a “fake beach” area with double four poster sunbeds which again were readily available. The pool bar was well stocked and they hotel provides you with beach towels to take down. The pool itself was much warmer than the one in the hotel we stayed at earlier in the week. They also had some excellent large white floating “armchairs” which were super comfortable and responsible for me looking like a drumstick lollipop after falling asleep on one. Overall, this hotel is a great find, and close to the Marina which has a wealth of restaurants and bars to frequent. It was very cost effective, and the service was excellent as well as being clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again
