I stayed in this hotel for work in May 26, the hotel is well appointed, clean and comfortable with a great breakfast, beautiful setting/scenery and friendly staff including Salome who stood out amongst her colleagues for going the extra mile; she approached her role with great whit and banter plus a beautiful smile. Highly recommend this lovely 5 star hotel. We had a wonderful welcome with a clear explanation of the various restaurants & facilities available. Our room was very clean & had a wonderful balcony with one of the most comfortable day bed/loungers on it. This had sun throughout most of the day & was a wonderful place to relax before dinner. We opted for a slightly higher grade room, situated on the 4th floor & over looked both pools & part of the beach. The bed was exceedingly comfortable & linen high quality, & I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room. Had a small issue with the air con which needed two calls to rectify, but it was sorted in the end. Loved the pools, very clean & plenty of loungers, also with good quality furniture & towels. We didn’t have access to the ‘club beach area’ which was more or less empty during our stay but it looked nice. Food & drink at the pool was delicious - catering well for coeliacs - as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was an absolute delight, not only for the wonderful array of food available & all excellent quality (the cakes were off the chart in terms of deliciousness!). Omelettes cooked to perfection & so many food choices I walked around mesmerised deciding what to have. The view at breakfast (& also dinner) is stunning - I looked forward to breakfast every day & the team were attentive & helpful. Guest services - in particular Gilles was so so helpful, we wish we had found him on day 1. He had many suggestions & was enthusiastic & assertive with supporting us to plan local restaurants & entertainment options. He knows everything & everyone - he’s also funny which we liked. We highly recommend this hotel & when we have saved up we will return! Definitely worth the cost & a pleasure to celebrate my birthday there. Lots of walks nearby - just 40 minutes takes you to a stunning sunset beach or 20 mins finds you with views of other coves beyond the lovely little beach at the bottom of the hotel (1 minute walk) . Wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you for such a lovely stay.

We have just come back here from an 8 night stay at this hotel on a half board basis. The hotel itself is very clean and is maintained to a high standard, the sun-beds are very comfy which was perfect for us as we enjoyed lounging by the pool most days. The view from the top of the hotel was stunning which was definitely a selling point for us when we booked. There are a few restaurants and shops nearby but is a very quiet and small area. The buffet breakfast was lovely with lots of options, however getting a coffee from the machine was quite as there was always a queue and only 2 machines running which wasn’t enough for the amount of people at breakfast at a time. Before coming, we didn’t realise that the dinner included in our half board wasn’t a buffet but instead it was a choice between 2 restaurants with a set menu. The food was very delicious and of good quality and we enjoyed each meal. One night we waited 45 minutes for our starter which we did get an apology for which we appreciated. As we stayed for 8 nights, the food did become quite repetitive as the set menu was slightly restrictive in what was included with our half board and of limited choice. The rooms were cleaned daily, however we found that the cleaners would come around 5pm when we’d be back from the pool, needing a shower, but having no fresh towels. The drinks were quite pricey, 18 euro for a sangria or cocktail, which can be expected when coming to Ibiza. Some nights, we had to pay 8 euro for a bottle of water with our dinner, whereas other nights we did not, which was very confusing, and in my opinion is a staggering amount to be paying for water. There is a beach restaurant next to the hotel which served lovely food and drinks for a very good price, so we opted to come here often for lunch and drinks instead of within the hotel, and the food was just as nice. Even though there are some negatives to our stay, we did enjoy our time here overall. If you want a luxurious and relaxing break, this is definitely the place to come and if you don’t mind spending quite a bit of money whilst you are here.

Despite the hotel itself being beautiful, our overall experience at Cala San Miguel Hotel Ibiza, Curio Collection by Hilton fell short of the 5-star standard it advertises. We had upgraded on booking to the Club Experience, expecting a more premium level of service. Unfortunately, the welcome on arrival was disappointing. We were simply offered a glass of water while there was clearly a bottle of fizz sitting behind reception, which immediately made the “upgraded experience” feel underwhelming. The information provided by reception staff was minimal at best. We were staying on a half-board basis, yet this was never properly explained to us. When we arrived for dinner on our first evening, we were told we needed to have booked in advance — something nobody had mentioned at check-in. After my husband complained to guest services, we were eventually accommodated with a table at the alternative restaurant. The dining experience itself was also disappointing. Both restaurant menus had limited options, and once staff realised we were on half board, several menu choices were suddenly unavailable to us. Drinks throughout the hotel were extremely expensive, and even coffee after dinner incurred an additional charge, which felt excessive for a supposed luxury resort. The beach beds were also very basic for a 5-star property, and on one occasion one of the beds was actually broken. Although the hotel is visually lovely, it was clear there was a very particular demographic the hotel seemed to cater towards, and overall the atmosphere did not feel especially welcoming or luxurious. We have stayed in many other 5-star hotels and received far superior service elsewhere, including standard touches such as turndown service — something not even offered here despite our Club Experience upgrade. We were also asked if we would like to upgrade to a room with a better view, but at an additional cost of €100 per day. Considering the hotel was not full as it was still early in the season, this felt unnecessary and poor value, so we declined. On departure day, we enquired about a late checkout and were initially told it would cost €30 per hour, before another member of staff quoted €20 per hour instead. Again, this inconsistency was frustrating. We declined and were then offered a courtesy room to shower in — but only for 30 minutes. Overall, while the hotel looks impressive aesthetically, the service, communication, and overall guest experience simply did not match the 5-star pricing or expectations. Sadly, we would not return.
