I don't normally write reviews, but this felt like an occasion worthy of one. This is an interesting hotel because it offers a mix of half board and self-catering. If you choose self-catering, the rooms and kitchen facilities are perfectly adequate and make for a reasonably priced holiday. If you prefer half board, that's also available, although I didn't try it as I tend to get bored of hotel food. What I will say is that the bar food at lunchtime was excellent, so I'd expect the half-board meals to be of a similar standard. There's also a shop on site that stocks all the basics. It's not the cheapest, but if you're more organised than I was, it's worth doing a supermarket shop in town for the week. Sunbed wars aren't really a thing here. If you head down between 8–9am, you'll usually find beds around the main pool. There are always a few early risers (myself included—I don't sleep! 😂), but if the main pool is busy, the quiet pool and kids' pool always seemed to have plenty of space. The bus stop on the main road makes it easy to get into either resort, although I personally preferred Port de Pollença. We ate at U Nàutic, and for three adults and one child, the bill came to around €160 including top-quality food and wine. Compared to UK prices, I thought that was excellent value. The cocktails were fantastic and reasonably priced, with proper glassware rather than plastic cups. The wines were also very good. A big shout-out to the entertainment team, who worked incredibly hard all day—Morice, in particular, never seemed to stop! The evening entertainment is on the quieter side, but most people seemed to be heading to bed by 10–11pm. I think that's mainly because of the self-catering and half-board setup. It was actually refreshing not to have the usual all-inclusive drunken chaos. Overall, I would definitely come back. If you're looking for a bit of adventure, I'd highly recommend the 1.5-hour jet ski tour—it was a real highlight for the whole family. For car hire, I'd recommend Allcars in Alcúdia. If you have a car, make the trip to Sóller and then take the tram down to Port de Sóller (I'd suggest getting a taxi back if you don't fancy the return tram). Finally, if you want a unique swimming experience, book a meal at Restaurant Es Guix and enjoy the beautiful natural pool afterwards.

Fabulous hotel. We found the location to be great and the bus allowed us to visit several different places.... PDP, Pollenca old town, Cala San Vicente and Port Alcudia. Bus was very frequent, we also used it to go to two different Eroski's and Lidl. It is also handy for going to the beaches, get off at stop Llenaire (?spelling). The hotel is fabulous, super clean, modern, has everything you need including a small shop and an ATM machine (€4.95 charge to use it though). Food: had a few lunches and one evening meal, all were superb, very fresh and a good selection of food especially for me who is vegetarian. Room: we had a junior suite which was perfect for 2 adults and 2 teens. Room was always clean and well appointed. It had a fridge with small freezer drawer, two hob rings, a coffee machine with pods provided (we didn't use it so not sure of the brand). Staff: ALL staff were fantastic, they all work very hard to look after their guests and keep the hotel looking well and clean. The entertainment team do a fantastic job keeping everyone (especially children) entertained. Maurice in particular deserves a special mention. Water polo, ping pong, darts, aqua zumba, aqua aerobics, pilates and more, you can do as little or as much as you want and no pressure to do so. Would we go again? YES!!

Had a pleasant week here with my family. Our children are 14 and 9. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are clean and spacious. We had a ground floor apartment straight out on to the small pool across from reception which was nice. We were self catering, but paid to eat in the restaurant 2 night. It was expensive 26 euro for over 11’s, half price for under. The food was ok, but you have to pay for drinks on top. The main pool is nice, but a bit over crowded as it’s not huge. We preferred to stay by the smaller one which was quieter. The staff are all friendly and helpful and the adults only spa is fantastic! The only downside for us was the location, it’s in the middle of nowhere really between Alcúdia and Porto Pollença. We ended up hiring a car through the hotel so we could get out and about. There is a bus on the main road which we used once. There is a taxi app too, but they can take a long time to turn up! Overall a nice stay, but the location would put us off from staying again.

This was our second visit to Club del Sol, having stayed here for the first time last year. This review is based on a family of four (2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 4) staying self-catering for 10 nights during the first week of the UK summer holidays. I’d like to start by saying we had another fantastic holiday at Club del Sol. If you’re thinking of booking, you won’t be disappointed. Some of the points I’ve mentioned below are only minor and certainly didn’t take away from our overall enjoyment-we’d happily return again. Food & Drinks Although we were self-catering, we ate at the hotel restaurant a couple of times. The breakfast was excellent, and we also tried the evening buffet, which offered a good variety of fresh, good-quality food. At €26 per adult (half price for children), I did feel it was a little expensive though, especially when you can enjoy a lovely meal down the Pine Walk for a similar price, or often even less, however the convenience of eating on site was handy sometimes. The à la carte pool bar/restaurant was brilliant for lunch, and the pizzas were some of the best we had during our stay. The cocktails were also excellent, especially the Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri. Every morning we picked up pastries from the on-site shop for breakfast. The cinnamon rolls were incredible and only €1.75 each-definitely worth trying! For anyone looking for restaurant recommendations nearby, we really enjoyed Riyans Thai (just off Pine Walk) and Can Josep, which is around a 10/15 minute walk from the hotel. Bahia was also really good and had a beautiful view of the sea and pine walk, food was delicious and the staff were great with our children. We tried the Hideaway restaurant one evening after seeing several recommendations. It’s located on-site, although it’s not run by Club del Sol. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. The food we had wasn’t great, however we did go back for takeaway sandwiches at lunchtime, which were lovely and very reasonably priced. I would reccomend for convenient lunchtime snacks (ie sandwiches, wraps etc) but wouldn’t expect too much from the rest of the menu. Pools The pools were clean and well maintained, and sun loungers were comfortable and in good condition. We visited in July during the first week of the UK school holidays, but the resort never felt overly crowded. The main pool always had a nice atmosphere, and the splash pool almost always had spare sun loungers. Like many resorts, sunbed reserving was definitely happening. If you wanted four loungers together in a good location, it was very much a case of “if you can’t beat them, join them.” I usually set my alarm for around 7:00am, put our towels out and stayed there with a coffee and a book while the rest of the family slept. It actually became one of my favourite parts of the day watching the beautiful sunrise! What I don’t agree with is people putting towels down and disappearing for hours-we even saw one family reserve beds the night before, and actually didn’t remove them at all during their stay-which really isn’t fair. That said, there are plenty of loungers around the pools, so if you don’t mind splitting up or only need a couple you shouldn’t struggle to find somewhere to sit even after 9am. Room We stayed in Block 4, which the hotel kindly allocated after I requested it when booking. It was the perfect location for us-close to the main pool, making it easy to pop back to the room for snacks, drinks or a break from the sun with the children. We had a couple of small maintenance issues, but they were dealt with very quickly by the hotel. The TV wasn’t working when we arrived, which wasn’t a huge problem but was useful for entertaining the children while we got ready in the evenings. This was fixed almost immediately. The air conditioning was extremely noisy. Maintenance came out promptly after we reported ot and fixed the issue. The room layout suited us well as a family with younger children. There was a double bed (made from two singles) in the bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living area. It worked perfectly for us this year, but as our children get older I think we’d probably need either a larger apartment or two rooms. We also spotted a few tiny red ants in the room. We understand it’ something to expect occasionally in a hot country, and reception arranged for the room to be treated straight away. Entertainment The entertainment team were brilliant once again, especially Maurice. They had endless energy, were fantastic with the children and really helped create a fun atmosphere around the resort. Our children loved joining in with the activities, and the team made everyone feel included. There was always something going on throughout the day. We got involved with the aqua dancing/aerobics, pizza making, football games, and the hotel also have a hair braiding lady attend and horse riding around the hotel grounds on certain days. There was a mini disco each evening from 8:15-8:45pm, nothing spectacular but the kids enjoyed, and then there would be some sort of adult entertainment from 9-10pm, after which things start to wind down. The bubble show was great!! Location The hotel is located just outside Puerto Pollensa, but don’t let that put you off. It’s around a 35-40 minute walk into the centre, which is a lovely stroll along the seafront if you enjoy walking. If not, there’s a bus stop directly outside the hotel, and the journey into the port only takes around 5-10 minutes, so getting around is really easy. We walked with an 8 year old and a buggy and it was doable, getting the bus/taxi back. The beach directly opposite the hotel is pebbly and not somewhere we chose to spend much time. However, Tamarells Beach or the small Pine Walk bays in Puerto Pollensa are absolutely beautiful and well worth the short journey. It has soft golden sand and crystal-clear water that’s perfect for children and snorkelling. What We Did During Our Stay There is plenty to do in the local area, and these were some of our favourite days out: * Formentor Boat Trip-This was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday. The boat trip itself was lovely, and Formentor is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear turquoise water and beautiful scenery. It’s well worth doing if you get the chance and great for snorkelling. * Cala Sant Vicenç-We caught the local bus here and hired kayaks to explore the four coves. It was a brilliant way to see the coastline and something a little different from spending the day by the pool-the coves were good for snorkelling too. The kayak for all 4 of us was a reasonable €20 for an hour. * Pollença Old Town-Another great option for a slightly cooler or cloudier day. We took the bus, wandered around the lovely shops and cafés, and climbed the Calvari Steps for some fantastic views over the town. * Alcúdia Old Town-We also visited Alcúdia Old Town, which is slightly larger than Pollença Old Town. There are lots of restaurants, shops and historic streets/castle walls to explore. * Boat trip to Cala Sant Vicenç and Formentor- this was a nice few hours out, very scenic. The boat stopped at CSV for a 20 min swim/snorkel then sailed towards Formentor. You had the option of getting off at Formentor and spending some time at the beach then catching a later boat back, which is what we did. A lovely day out. Overall, Club del Sol remains one of our favourite family holiday destinations, and we’re so pleased we decided to return.
