We have spent a week at the Milanos Pinguinos hotel July. We stayed half board. This is a 3 star hotel,situated on the beautiful Son Bou beach. The location couldn't be more perfect, at the start of this 2.5 klm beach. This is only hotel on the beach,with others located towards the back of the resort,up a steep hill. The food in the restaurant is OK,with 3 choices of meat and fish daily,plenty of choice including Italian. We thought this hotel was good value for money, but is only a 3 star as the rooms are small,but adequate. The are a selection of very good restaurants located within 100 yds of the hotel.

Sol Milanos pinguinos is a very good 3 star good value hotel. Location is perfect, easy access to the beach from the hotel pool. Sunbeds are comfortable & towels are provided The staff are the hardest working I have encountered, especially the cleaners & restaurant staff Room small but adequate - no complaints The food is fine, you will always find something tasty to eat if you look around I really appreciate the Spanish ambiance, they are very good at not becoming a bland brand hotel The lobby is very comfortable & there’s a grocery shop across the road from the front entrance The only con for me are the acoustics in the restaurant- it’s very noisy I’ve booked to return in October to find out what the weathers like in autumn

This hotel is in a great location for the beach. The shops/restaurants area is a short walking distance but a limited choice as Son Bou is only a small resort. This hotel is in a great location for the beach. The shops/restaurants area is a short walking distance but a limited choice as Son Bou is only a small resort. Hotel itself is not bad for a 3 star resort, some of the areas look a bit tired and could do with small repairs/paint touch ups. Reception area is very welcoming. Rooms are again in need of some TLC but nothing we couldn't live with. The rooms were kept clean and towels changed when required, we were on the 8th floor (807) in the main building and the cleaner had sometimes been in while we were in breakfast. Our room was cool and the air con was good especially when the ceiling fan was on as well. Our room got the sun in the afternoon/evening but it was too hot to sit outside on the balcony later in the day. The lifts are pretty good but always busy at meal times but not a long wait for one to come along as there are 6 lifts. Food is what you would expect a all inclusive, all buffet help yourself type, plenty of choice and they seemed to fill up empty dishes fairly quickly, yes sometimes the food wasn't very hot but walk around until you see a choice getting low and wait for a refill. There are also 2 areas of food choice, the 1st one when you come in and then another one down the steps with more choice. The food is aimed at Spanish/Portuguese guests, but you can still get English type dishes if its your choice. Pool snack bar is not too good in that there is limited choice, always fruit, chips & cakes. We only ate there if we didn't want a meal at lunch time or couldn't be bothered with the restaurant. As with all buffet type food its a bun fight getting to what you want - no-one looks where they are going but there was some orderly queues for freshly cooked food. The tables are cleared very efficiently but keep your knives and forks or they go with the empty plate too! On all inclusive you can get beer/sangria/wine at meal times in the restaurant and you don't need your token. You get issued with a drink token per person which you exchange at the bar for coffee/soft drinks/beer etc etc. and if need refills just take back your empty cup and then refill or get your token back. Pool towels are issued at check in and you can't exchange until after 5 days ! Safe in room at 3euros per day. Kettle for hire but we didn't bother. Pool areas are clean and there are lifeguards throughout. Bigger pool is quite chilly as not heated. As always it can be a fight for a sunbed but we got down there by 9.45/10 am and managed to get our family of 8 together. There is not much shade by the pool apart from the fixed parasols so if you need shade get sunbeds with parasols. The sun does move round the pool so if you need shade be prepared to move. Beach - 2 sunbeds and parasol were 16 euros, theres a man that collects money and gives a receipt, keep your receipt as I had a fight with another woman as she tried to take mine even though there was my towel, bag and pegs on it ! It then turned out she had left towels on 2 beds before the man turned up and she hadn't paid ! (not my bed I hasten to add). We only ate out once at the fish place on the corner and the meal was lovely, the cost for 4 adults, 2 courses and 2 bottles of wine was 200 euros so not cheap. We also went to Bar Hawaino for cocktails and they were nice. Overall it was a nice holiday, out party was 8 adults and 20 month old. We never go back to the same hotel so can't say for definite that we would return. Its not an exclusive English hotel so the first language for the kids club/entertainment is Spanish.
