Stayed for a 7 night break first week of October. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was on the 7th floor with views to the rear of the hotel. Great sized balcony with table and chairs. Unfortunately the sun didn’t come round onto the balcony but this really wasn’t an issue as the roof top was just one flight of stairs away. Clean room with daily cleaning service if required. Comfortable bed, two singles pushed together but once again this wasn’t an issue. We opted for just breakfast where there was always plenty of available tables and a good selection of food and drinks, the cava was always welcomed! Amazing location opposite the beach and stones throw from local town. We booked this wanting a quiet break and this location was perfect. Local restaurants were brilliant, especially the one directly downstairs. What made the hotel was the rooftop pool. We never struggled to find a sun lounger and the bar staff were really attentive and always cleaning up empty cups etc. Yes, it wasn’t a big pool but perfect to cool off in. The views are amazing! We went out for dinner every night and returned to the hotel bar which remained open until 1am. This area is a really sociable area and offered a great selection of drinks, once again the staff were always attentive and worked really hard. Rated a 4 star but realistically is probably a 3 but we definitely got what we paid for. Check out was once again quick with a room to store luggage. Reception staff ordered our taxi the day before and it turned up at exactly the requested time. I would highly recommend this hotel. The week was definitely made better by amazing weather only waking up to one cloudy morning which cleared by lunchtime!

“Excellent Value for Money”

Great location for both the beach and local restaurants. Just a few meters from the train station which takes you straight to Barcelona (incredibly inexpensively!). Roof top pool at the hotel is small, but good for sun-bathing. Rooms a decent size and comfortable. Good value for money.

Visited this hotel and resort with my mother as a last minute trip. My parents had an apartment further down the coast and we have visited Pineda on a number of occasions before, so we sort of knew what to expect. However, visiting for a few hours and staying for a week, seemed a very different experience. The Positives: * Check-in was efficient and probably due to the time of year, they were able to check us in early. Others had commented that this was not possible for them. To me, it is obvious that early check-in is dependent on availability. Cleaners need time to prepare rooms. * We weren't happy with the ground floor room in the centre of the hotel, but the hotel receptionist was very quick to assist us and gave us a room higher up. * Rooms were well laid out, had a separate shower and a bath. * Hotel seemed very clean and tidy. Rooms were attended to daily. * The rooftop terrace and pool area was relaxing and we enjoyed looking over the beach and sea (made you feel like you were on a cruise) * This is a beach front hotel, with very easy access to the sea and it is close to the station, with very efficient trains to Barcelona (about an hour for 11euros return) or to Blanes, giving you access to places such as Tossa and Lloret. * The lifts seemed to be fairly efficient (unlike what some have said in previous comments). That is of course if you don't have a mother that likes to press various random buttons. * The staff all seemed nice and friendly. The Negatives: * The room safe cost €28 and €10 deposit. This I think is extortionate for what is a basic need at a hotel and encourages people not to bother. I was also unhappy with how this was presented. I thought it was the other way round, €28 deposit and €10 cost. * Food - - We became friendly and chatted to a number of people staying at the hotel and the general consensus was that the food was awful. In some ways I found this an unfair statement, because it was clear that some of the less picky or guests from the mainland continent seemed to enjoy it more. - The food was often lukewarm or cold, for which there is no excuse for. - The layout of the restaurant is quite bad. To get your food, you do have to wander from one end to the other as the serving bays are all over the place. It is very disjointed. - Water should be freely available in the restaurant for everyone, not just those on all inclusive. - If you don't like seafood or pork, this is definitely not the buffet for you, it will limit your options significantly. * Entertainment was quite poor throughout the day, with a variety of heart hearted activities, which were badly attended too. The bingo lasted 15 minutes. They did a line on the bingo card then full house and it was finished. Wasn't worth sitting down. * In the evening, the entertainment was a little better, with some music and an occasional singer or dancing, but not fantastic. * The pool is very small, which didn't bother me too much as I didn't go in it, but I imagine if there were a lot of families there, this would quickly be a problem. * My mother and I only went Half board. Drinks at the bar were expensive. Coffee and a Cider were about €9. I had a Gin and tonic another time, which cost €12.50 (admittedly, this was a large measure) * Apparently those on all inclusive could not get drinks after 11pm. This seems a bit ridiculous. Surely if the bar is open they should serve all inclusive drinks until it closes. * The quality of the all inclusive drinks was poor too. Someone let me have a sip of one of their drinks (Vodka and Coke, I believe), it was awful, it tasted extremely watered down. I know it is common practice to serve local or unknown brands of alcohol, but generally they should taste quite similar. It was also clear that some people on the all inclusive were barely getting tipsy, whereas my large Gin and Tonic had the desired effect. * No kettle in the room. As a conclusion, I didn't think the hotel was too bad for what was paid and it could be a lot better with just a few changes. However, if I didn't see that those changes were made, I definitely wouldn't go back. Pineda as a resort is also just too quiet. Originally, I thought this was purely down to the end of season, however a nice walk up the coast to Santa Susana, which was still very lively and had plenty to do, made me consider otherwise. This resort is definitely for those that like to just sit, do very little and don't like a little look around many shops (because they don't have many).
