This hotel is good. The building is lovely and traditional, well designed with a small swimming pool and children’s pool. There is a shop five minutes down the road if you are self catering which we were. The staff worked hard and the rooms were clean (cleaned three times in our week long stay) and pool cleaned daily. The reception staff were helpful and it was comforting to know that there was security until 5am being a solo parent traveller with two teenagers. Our apartments were located right near the pool and pool tables which was handy and I had a ground floor apartment and my sons the apartment above which worked out nicely. The apartment was well equipped with sofa, TV, fan and all kitchen utensils that we needed. The sun beds were sturdy and comfortable and most sun beds had parasol's as well. All public areas were cleaned daily. We only ate at the hotel restaurant once but we were happy with our meals there. I had the buffet breakfast on the first day and my sons spent a leisurely lunch at the buffet another day without complaint. The hotel is within a short walking distance to the Europa Centre which was handy for food and evening entertainment. It was a little rowdy with loud music but every meal that we did eat there was good. The location of the hotel is nice overlooking Amadores beach. It is a long walk down to the beach (I could only manage it first thing in the morning before sunrise and I think it took me a good half an hour/forty minutes) however the hotel operates a free shuttle bus to and from the beach which is really handy. Amadores beach is nice but I would personally head to the left hand side where there are no rocks and easy access to the water. The beach bars and restaurants around this area are fine as well. We got a taxi back a few times which costs around €6. Puerto Rico town centre is about the same price in a taxi also which is well worth a visit for shopping and to see the light fountains at night. We also took a trip to Anfi del Mar using a taxi which was maybe 15 minutes away. Lovely upper market resort with beautiful beach, nice bars and restaurants and some better shops than the other beach resorts. All in all, we had a lovely stay at Nido de Aquilas. I feel that the hotel is well run and managed. It is clean and a good base in which to see the surrounding areas. We also went to the market trip to Mogán which was a nice morning out. The town is picturesque and the market was quite large and interesting. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others who are looking for a clean base in which to stay.

“Cheap but cheerful”

Basic Hotel with basic food (Breakfast offered the best selection). Fan supplied in room but A/C units charged as extra. Was very clean though and (some) of the staff said hello to us. Basic Hotel with basic food (Breakfast offered the best selection). Fan supplied in room but A/C units charged as extra. Was very clean though and (some) of the staff said hello to us. Towels on the cheap/small side! Free transfer to beach is 5mins by bus from apartments twice a day although taxis in the area are very cheap (go to Europa to get taxis). To be honest, you get what you pay for and we can’t grumble as we weren’t in the apartment much and eating out was very cheap. The only entertainment we experienced was the Monday night ‘Drag Queen Kareoke’… less said about this the better.. 🥴 Euopa (or Europey as we called it) shopping/restaurant centre just round the corner… very “Benidorm like” if that’s your thing.. Puerto Rico centre (approx 7 mins away in taxi) offers lots of shops and restaurants although be prepared to be followed round by staff every shop you go into. The newer shopping centre in PR offers lots of clothes shops (all price ranges)… wish we found this on our first day (what a gem!). Highly recommend a boat trip although we didn’t see any dolphins and the sea was quite choppy but we had a blast doing Paragliding and the Banana Boat ride all of which hosted by the even more fabulous Domingo.
