“Wonderful hotel in the beachfront”

A very friendly welcome from the hotel Lancelot staff. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful. Room spotlessly clean. Room 301 is a room at The end with great sea view

This hotel is in a central position and has a good view overlooking the sea. The rooms were clean and the food was really nice. This hotel is in a central position and has a good view overlooking the sea. The rooms were clean and the food was really nice. Each night there were several choices of main courses with plenty of salad. The desserts were a bit of a disappointment but maybe that's just personal choice. The breakfasts varied every day and there was usually some sort of eggs and bacon or sausages. Our main complaint about this hotel was the lack of an open bar. We particularly like a hotel bar as it's a nice place to relax for a drink either before dinner or when you come back after an evening out. The pool area was lovely and quiet and there was a little bar there, but this closed at 6pm. I'm not sure if the lack of an open bar was because we were out of season, but the guy at reception told us that the hotel was full, so maybe not! Another complaint we had - when we went down for dinner in the evening, we noticed that people had glasses of wine on their table. We asked the waitress if we could order two glasses of wine and she told us that we had to buy a bottle. We would have done this, but I drink rose wine, and my sister drinks red. On the following evening, again we noticed that people had glasses of wine (not bottles on their table so we asked again if we could order two glasses of wine. The waitress said yes, and showed us the menu. She then snatched it away from us and walked off, so we still didn't get our wine. We chatted to a guy at one of the tables about this and he said that he and his wife had no problem ordering a glass of wine. We reported this to the reception and the receptionist went down to the dining room to look into this and came back and said "she didn't understand you"!!! What a complete debacle!!! We decided to forget the whole idea of getting a drink at this hotel and either drank in our rooms before dinner or popped out to a local bar. We did feel that if a hotel advertises that there is a bar, then they should have one otherwise it's certainly false representation. It's a shame, as our stay at this hotel was otherwise good, hence the stars given.

Great location on beach front. Rooms exactly as described. Overall poor value for money and expensive for what it is, even though we booked direct which was cheaper than other options. Great location on beach front. Rooms exactly as described. Overall poor value for money and expensive for what it is, even though we booked direct which was cheaper than other options. We stayed in March when it was cold and THERE IS NO HEATING IN THE HOTEL ROOMS! Breakfast below average, exceptionally noisy environment and most of the restaurant staff were extremely unwelcoming.

“Style over substance”

Stayed here for 10 days. While its apparently been the wettest coldest winter in Lanzarote, the hotel room was really cold. Yes you can get a second blanket but if you get a room on a lower floor, blocked by buildings or over the road, you dont get any sun which might warm the room up. The dining room is also cold in the evening as despite the weather staff arent allowed to turn off the AC. Bar opens intermittently but closes at 7pm so staff can cover dinner service! Rooms - despite being cold lack functionality. There was not one hook in my room so you cant hang coats or jackets, nor towels. The towel rail hangs over the toilet so useless and you end up hanging towels on the door, likewise with clothes or jackets. There is one (!) drawer in the bedroom! Its tiny so again snacks of being refurbished by a designer but not for practicality. As the room is so cold it can take 3 days to dry underwear in winter, not that there is anywhere to put it if you have a room without a balcony. Yet another design fail. This is also true for the shower tray which is about half an inch deep so if washing your hair, it overflows and floods the bathroom. Dinner buffet - hot food is warm and best - no hot plates so your food is lukewarm at best by the time you sit down. Central location plus a lift to reception but it lacks attention to detail as you can see from all this.
