“Great Experience once again apart from Baileys not being available on AI”

We have now been to this hotel at least 5 times. Hotel is clean, grounds are immaculate, food great and Swimming pools are superb. The animation team always seems to bow & scrape to the French, alot of the team seem to have changed and like everything I expect it will take time for them all to bond. Williams in the Bar & Lena in the restaurant are both fantastic and give everyone 5 star treatment. As I have already mentioned we have now being coming back for years, and have always used Jet2 when booking, we have the All Inclusive package, all meals, entertainment, local wines, beers, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks included. We always used to be able to have BAILEYS up until now. We are not big drinkers BUT we always used to enjoy Baileys in the evening. This year we were told if we wanted Baileys we had to pay for it, whilst we could drink Brandy & coke as part of the All Inclusive package. We do not drink Alcohol until after 5pm, so it is not as if we were drinking Baileys all day long. We were I might add offered a "dupe Baileys" (spanish equalivant). We both took a sip, and agreed not to bother as it tasted like a BAD COUGH MEDICINE with an odd after taste. Bad decision. Bring back original BAILEYS! Please restore normal Baileys service by 22nd July, as we will be back with our Grandchildren.

We enjoyed this holiday as a family of 3. The room was not ready on arrival, so we were shown the luggage room and headed straight to the pool. The reception said we would be notified whe the room was ready. We weren't notified, but this wasn't a problem, we headed back to reception after an afternoon at the pool. There seemed to be a lack of communication regarding pool towels. You would ask the lifeguard to swap your towels and he would tell you to go to reception. Reception would tell you to go to the lifeguard. The room was a reasonable size and always cleaned. Food choices looked great, my Husband and son enjoyed the variety on offer. I have Coeliac Disease and follow a strict gluten free diet. There was a seperate GF area for breakfast, but to me it wasn't really well sign posted so other hotels guests wouldnt use it when there plates are full of gluten food anyway. We emailed the hotel ahead of our arrival time to pre order a GF dish, however the buffet restaurant had no notice of this. I pre ordered food at reception everyday to be cooked in the kitchen and bought out to me. The food was very nice and fresh and honestly some of the best vegetables I've ever eaten. With the food been freshly cooked there was a wait of 15-20 minutes. I didn't mind this as I knew it was freshly prepared and safe for me to eat. The dessert lacked really and only offered yogurt/daim cake and ice cream. The hotel ran out of vanilla ice cream for the last 2 days of the stay, not a big problem however that is the only ice cream available that is GF. The pool snack bar offers fruit which is the only GF available. I took pre packed snack from breakfast to eat during the day as there are no options. We allocated sun beds just before we went to breakfast and then one of us sat with them whilst we collected pool belongings from the room. The pool was warm and my son had a great time. Overall a nice family holiday and would not be put off to rebook.

Stayed here for 11 nights early June. The resort is excellent, with a beach and shopping mall with a large Spar super market next to the hotel, beneath the mall is a variety of restaurants and a decent size play area for the little ones. The room was a good size with a huge bed, the bathroom was good the shower had very good pressure and the shower head had different settings. It says there is a mini bar in the room but it was just an empty fridge and no bath robes. The rooms are a bit dated and not cleaned. The doors to the balcony were very dirty. The only bar that was open was the Lobby Bar with long queues I waited 20mins to be served. I got served then joined the back of the queue and had finished my drink by the time I got served again. The restaurant was busy but the food was very good. The staff here work so hard, working at the pool bar, restaurant and lobby bar all day. It is only a 4 euro taxinride to the small town with plenty of shopsnandnplaces to eat. Go to Oconnors forna irish breakfast. I would highly recommend this resort especially for families.

We really did want to score higher but cannot ignore the shortcomings. First, the positives - The hotel is huge. The grounds and pool areas are are beautifully maintained. There is a gorgeous man made beach just outside the gate. We spent 4 out of 8 days here. €4 each for a lounger. Likewise a parasol. The hotel is close enough to nip in and bring back drinks. We loved the beach. Rooms are fine, although a shower over bath is not something we have seen in a while. We opted for the prestige room, which offers one or two nice touches. 2 bathrobes, Nespresso machine, free safe and top up of water, beer and coke in the fridge. However the bathrobes were taken on day 4 and never replenished. Likewise the coffee pod top ups stopped around the same time. While the rooms are attended daily and towels changed, our bed sheets were not renewed at all. The issue seems to be that the hotel is at guest capacity, but have nowhere near enough staff to make your stay memorable. The pool bar is generally run by one person throughout the day. This leads to long queues and what I am sure is a hugely stressful shift for the staff. AI drinks are local and not particularly good. The hotel has 4 bars, but only ever have one operating. On an evening, this leads to the bar being beyond busy. I write this on our final day, where we were denied late check out. This is something we have become accustomed to in similar hotels, but we were told the hotel is fully booked. The luggage storage room is utter carnage. You are barely able to get in the door. We have our 30 minute slot booked for later in the courtesy room. That should be fun. I can't begin to imagine how that would work with a family. And now to the largest failing of all. FOOD. To be clear, we do not expect haute cuisine, but the food is so disappointing. Breakfast is fine, however, the buffet selection at lunch and evening meal is simply not good enough. Before giving up on the food, we had not managed a warm, fresh meal. Unfortunately, you are presented with a sea of beige, luke warm food. We have stayed at many 4* AI hotels across the Canaries, but unfortunately this is the lowest quality we have experienced. It is clear that everyone works really hard in this hotel, but they cannot make it what it should be. So I'm genuinely sad to leave an average review, but it is what it is. We will definitely visit Caleta de Fuste again, sadly not the Elba Carlota. I realise not everyone will agree with this review, and I hope their stay was more memorable than ours.
