Arrived at the hotel at 11.30pm and was warmly greeted by a pleasant and helpful receptionist who surprised us with a packed lunch incase we were hungry. We missed the all inclusive drinks as that finishes at 11 pm but had a quick drink before going to our room. Our room was large and well equipped with a kettle, fridge and a free safe, the bathroom could do with an upgrade but was adequate. Only complaint about our room was we could hear the pool pump running 24 hours a day. The hotel was very quiet so there was no problems with getting a deck chair but at high season parasols may be in short supply. The hotel is absolutely spotless, never been in such a clean hotel, they even deck scrub under the deck chairs. The food was average, luke warm at times but the pasta bar was superb.. The dining room is an accident waiting to happen, the wooden floor boards have sprung and they have tried taping them down with the result there are lots of risen edges and a trip hazard. The bar/function room is a bid drab and could do with a makeover but the bar staff were excellent. Evening entertainment was a bit mixed, heard two very good female singers but we usually went out at night. Despite a few minor flaws I would return to this hotel.

We visited the first week of June, two of us. When we arrived at the hotel the check in was smooth and we had an upstairs room opposite the main dining room. The room was lovely, I was apprehensive after reading some reviews on here but it was massive with the bed/wardrobe side of the room and a living side of the room with a pull out sofa bed/couch and a wall mounted TV above a desk. We had a big balcony and a good sized bathroom too. Aside from the odd cleanliness issue (for example the aircon unit and top of the wardrobe really needed a dust) it was spotless and the maid came in every day to mop and empty the bins, replace the towels etc. The room also had shower gel and a hairdryer, a safe, and a mini fridge (although this was useless really, we ended up buying ice from a local supermarket and keeping it in there with our drinks which lasted a couple of days). The beds were two large singles pushed together which we always find quite annoying and they were hard and springy, but you can request a topper from reception. It wasn't that bad but by the end of the week our backs were feeling it! The food was basic but okay, the same kind of offering each day but always with something we could eat. We spent about 4 days in a row eating pizza and chips for lunch so it didn't blow us away, but what we did have tended to be tasty and the fresh omelettes at breakfast were a stand out. The snack bar runs from 15:30-17:30 and tended to also offer the same thing every day, fruit cups, salads, cheese and ham sandwiches, hot dogs and nachos with a random cake each day or doughnuts. I particularly liked that they had self serve drinks in the restaurant so you could serve yourself any soft drink, fruit juice, coffee, water, wine or beer that you wanted. At the pool bar there is a one euro deposit for a plastic cup but they also have self serve soft drinks, coffee and water so you don't have to queue for those. A lot of people on here made a big deal about that deposit but it was fine and if it bothers you so much, just take a paper cup from breakfast and use that? We paid a ten euro deposit each for a pool towel too from reception to save on the packing space which was great. I think the biggest letdown was the entertainment - during the day it was virtually non existent, you'd see the odd game of darts or what have you and there is a timetable but it was quite lacking, if on at all. At night time there's a kids disco which isn't on consistently and then the main entertainment at 21:30 which was usually quite painful. The magic show was alright and the karaoke was a good laugh but other than that, we ended up going to other bars on the main strip for a quiz and karaoke to avoid having to watch it. There are two pools and the one at the back tends to be more peaceful and quiet and the bigger one at the front is where you'll find the bar, more families and is more lively. The water was freezing in both pools but was fine once you were in! The location of the hotel is really its strongest point, as you are literally right on that main strip and there's plenty of shops in both directions. To the left it leads to the beaches and the marina if you go all the way down, where we got the ferry over to Lanzarote for a day and to the right you can get to a shopping complex where they have a market on every Thursday morning. We also walked along to see popcorn beach which was really cool! Overall we did really enjoy our stay and didn't want to go, but missed our bed and a bigger variety of food! We'd definitely come back to stay and I really wouldn't pay any mind to the bad reviews on here, our experience couldn't have been further from those.
