We had a pleasant stay overall, and there were many positives. The hotel is set in lovely surroundings, with beautiful gardens and a relaxing atmosphere. The facilities are good, and the staff are its greatest asset. The entertainment team also deserves a special mention for bringing great energy and creating a fun atmosphere throughout our stay. A special thank you to Renata, Maria Elena and Nuria in the Emblem area for their exceptional customer service. They were always warm, professional and attentive. Valeria at reception was also incredibly helpful, and Ricardo at the bar made excellent cocktails. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest disappointment of our stay. The lunch service was particularly poor. This is where I was served a grilled chicken breast that was raw inside, which is a serious food safety concern. The burger patties were low quality, the pizzas were often burnt, and the lamb chops were tough. Overall, many dishes lacked flavour and even basic seasoning, and there were very few dessert options at lunch. The Emblem restaurant also failed to meet our expectations. Although the service was outstanding, the food lacked flavour and the cooking was inconsistent. At dinner, the scallops and lobster were overcooked and rubbery or the salmon was dry and bland. The ingredients deserved much better preparation. Breakfast in the Emblem restaurant, however, was very good, and the desserts throughout the hotel were generally fresh and tasty. The Emblem upgrade also fell short in a few areas. One of the advertised benefits was a memory foam pillow. I requested one, but it never arrived. The minibar was not consistently replenished, and the milk for the coffee machine was often missing. On several mornings I had to look for housekeeping staff to ask for milk. The Emblem lounge could also be improved. By the end of the day, the cold meats no longer looked fresh, and the fruit often appeared past its best. There were also a few other disappointing details. The swimming pools were barely heated, the water felt very cold. The plates in the buffet were frequently dirty, which was disappointing. I had seen previous reviews mentioning this issue before our stay, so it was unfortunate to find that it still hadn't been addressed. Overall, this hotel has wonderful staff who genuinely care about their guests and made our stay enjoyable. The surroundings are beautiful, and there are many positive aspects to the hotel. However, the food quality, attention to detail and consistency need significant improvement to match the standard of service and the expectations of the Emblem upgrade.

Far smaller than my previous experience of an all inclusive family hotel, which has both it's advantages and disadvantages. The place generally just never seemed busy, even at prime meal times. Yes of course there were busier periods, but you never felt like you wouldn't be able to sit, or playing human dodgems trying to navigate your way around the restaurant though. My only negative regarding food was the lack of knowing what you were having. It was just a bit random such as a dish of some kind of meat, mixed in with vegetables and a sauce was left to chance, no indication of what it might be, sitting right next to a bowl of rice clearly labelled 'white rice'. The food could have been hotter too, especially breakfast, found much of it to be warm. Our room was spacious and clean, cannot fault that at all. Have seen some people comment that their water bottle wasn't refilled or tea provisions replenished, but come on, you can do that yourself from the self serve areas!! Sun loungers, always a contentious point this. I think the hotel has the right idea in that the pool is fenced/gated off until (in theory) 10am, so no towels can be laid until the pool opens. However, the gate is only one side, the fences can be moved and as soon as one person decides to make a bit of a break for it (one morning as early as 9:40), everyone goes for it. We were i'm guessing the first week of guests at what will undoubtedly be their busiest period to date, so how this plays out over the next month or so will be interesting. The animation team were great, but there only really seemed to be a handful of activities repeated every other day. Maybe being a smaller hotel the need for more isn't needed, but coming from a hotel last year that had something going on almost on the hour every hour, for both adults and kids, it was just very noticeable. Finally, if you want to pop out, the water park is a 5 minute walk, as is the main town. The beach only 15 mins and harbour about 25. Overall I would definitely say that it is a very good hotel and provided us with a great family holiday. Would recommend if looking for good value for money.

As a family of four we spent 12 nights here. Whilst this hotel has potential it is clearly missing the mark and seemingly not paying attention to feedback from guests. Before travelling we had read various reports about poor food labelling, and even a review about passport theft. We stayed in a family premier suite and having emailed the hotel a week before our arrival to request an additional bed on the lounge area (so our teens didn’t have to share the sofa bed) they replied promptly and our request was met so that was good. Whilst the room was spacious for the four of us there was only one wardrobe and four drawers so it certainly lacked storage for us all. We had to pay €3 per day upfront for the safe at check in and we used this to put passports and electronic devices in/house keys. The safe is big enough for this but unfortunately I never thought that our toiletries would be rifled through and, subsequently, a bottle of perfume was stolen. We reported this to reception - who were seemingly unbothered and we had to chase for an answer of which was “we’ve told the head of housekeeping but nothing has been found.” Since we’ve experienced this we have seen other reviews on here reporting petty theft of similar items and when we posted on a facebook page about it other people commented having had bracelets and gifts stolen. There is clearly a hotel employee (or employees) who is a petty theft and nothing is being done about it. If you search theft on here you can read other reports as well as on facebook groups if you search the hotel name on there. The pools are good - cool but nice after being in the hot sun. The downside is that there are only approx 250 sunbeds but there are 261 rooms so this hotel could have near 1000 if full capacity and there is plenty of space for additional beds. The good thing is that the pool and beds are locked until 10am so no early morning rush however the queue builds from 9:30 in July/August so be prepared to queue and run! Food - breakfast was good enough (although could be hotter) in the buffet. Lunch is served at El Faro near the pools and this was good with plenty of choice - the fresh fruit and salad was always a win. Evening dinner - labels were lacking significantly. On evening we saw white rice labelled as margarita pizza and a chocolate cake dessert labelled as fish balls. No meat dishes were labelled so if you cannot eat certain meats then good luck! Vegetable lasagne was repeatedly labelled as beef lasagne. I cannot understand why they have not got this right and how they’ve kept their 4 star rating given this repeated issue reported a lot. All in all if you are an all inclusive guest this is a good 3 star hotel (I would see how it’s 4 star for emblem). Don’t expect any concierge to help find your room when you arrive at 10pm at night. Whilst I had a good holiday the hotel did not live up to expectations and when their competitors are H10/Barcelo/Iberostar I am surprised they aren’t doing more and responding to comments from guests with actions and not just words. Top tips - anything of any value (sentimental or financial) keep either in the safe or a locked suitcase. Queue early for pools beds. Walk 5 mins in the evening to playa vista lobos for a popcorn beach and a view of corralejo. There is a board walk you can do all the way into corralejo where there is a lovely square and plenty of shops to suit tourists.

My family (2 adults and 2 children 6 and 3) stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment on a self-catering basis. The room was really decent size and could not fault the décor and comfy beds, however, the self-catering facilities were quite poor and not the standard we are used to. No sharp bread knife, or corkscrew so we had to go out and buy these. The kettle wire is not long enough to plug in to the sockets as these are too high up on the wall. The coffee machine was rubbish, it was always lukewarm no matter how long you left it to brew. Only 4 cups, 4 plates, 4 bowls, 1 frying pan, so we never attempted to make a meal. The fridge/freezer is a decent size though, and the electric hob rings seem to work fine. We ate out every day as absolutely loads of great restaurants and reasonably priced. It is a bit of a walk to the main town but now the beach decking path is open it’s a really nice 15/20 minute walk. The hotel is aesthetically really lovely , the pools are massive and my kids absolutely loved the pirate ship and my eldest enjoyed the kids club. The staff were fantastic with her. The pool opens at 10am and people queued up to reserve sunbeds, I actually watched it one morning and I could see people throwing their towels over the wall on to sun beds which I found cringe. If you don’t get down for bang on 10am you don’t get a sunbed as there are not enough to go round everyone. More sun beds would be ideal as there were loads of space by the pool for extra beds. I did find if you went in the afternoon you might drop lucky with the grey beds by the edge of the pool but it was pot luck. Also the sun loungers by the pirate ship are gone early doors as they don’t fence this area off. This puts me off as I hate the sun bed dash so we tended to spend more time away from the hotel at the beach and waited to see if any became available in the afternoon. Some days we couldn’t get any and just had to leave our stuff in the pram whilst the children played In the pool. All in all we had a great holiday, the staff are polite, the pools are clean, but I don’t think we’d stay here self-catering again.
