We were at this hotel from the 8th to 29th March and we can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed it. Firstly the weather was a bit offish but to be honest we only had a couple of days of rain. Cloudy mornings normally turned to sunny afternoons so we made the most of it. However the hotel was worth more than 5 stars, we could not fault our stay, the room was more than adequate for self catering with a lovely balcony, the views were great from our room 1251, the staff were all brilliant we could not fault anyone. Even though we went self catering we went to quite a few evenings in the restaurant as it was so easy to do if you fancied it. Just walk in give you room number sign you autograph and help yourself to as much as you like, you still had to order your drink though. Fridays were my favourite as they were bbq nights, I love meat. It was a different theme every night, €16 each for evening, €14 for lunch time and €10 for breakfast. I went and paid my balance at reception once a week but it's entirely up to you when and how many times you do it. Definitely no need to fight over a sunbed or a specific spot as there was always a spare bed, don't know about main school holidays as we were there in March. There was also a pool bar/restaurant which again was very nice and same rules applied for self caterers. Obviously in the restaurant and the pool bar the people on All Inclusive just helped theirselves. The entertain was also every night but for me the Friday entertainment was the best but other nights were good too. It was outside and only once got stopped for rain. The bar by the entertainment was open throughout the night. The walk to the top of the strip took approximately 10 minutes from the hotel a lot closer than I thought it was. Turn right out of the hotel at the end of the road turn left walk a few minutes and you're there. There's also another shopping centre called, El Campanero, turn right out the hotel at the end of the road turn right walk a few minutes and you're there. All in all we would definitely book here again without a doubt. Thank you Las Marismas you made our holiday great.

“Lovely chilled holiday”

Rooms are spacious and generally clean, the floors being tiles and not cleaned regularly are filthy! The beds are comfortable but are 2 singles pushed together. toiletries are provided. Rooms are spacious and generally clean, the floors being tiles and not cleaned regularly are filthy! The beds are comfortable but are 2 singles pushed together. toiletries are provided. I would do self catering as the food isn’t the best and there is so many lovely restaurants about to try. Bring washing up liquid, a sponge and a mug as the cups are tiny! Pools are busy and a shame one isn’t adult only. There is plenty of sun beds and you are supplied a yellow pool towel. All drinks and food purchases are added on to your room and paid for on departure. Rooms and bedding, towels etc are changed twice a week. Live entertainment was musicians of an evening time, there’s a small games room and small bar area. The grounds are beautifully kept and clean. No air con only a fan in each room could be an issue in the height of summer. Everything is in walking distance shops, bars and restaurants around 10 mins walk. Our room was in a fairly quiet area could hear the fountain in the children’s pool though. A jacket for the evening as it can get a little chilly once the temperature drops and there’s a breeze. Staff are lovely and helpful. The tv is in Spanish but if you are clever enough you can change the language to English look for the word idioma this is the Spanish word for language and you can then change it to English then you can find you will have 3/4 English channels. WiFi has been ok it’s not the best but sufficient enough and it’s free.

“Enjoyable, but tarnished by late 5pm check-in”

Paying premium for early flights to make the most of our holiday, we arrived at the hotel at 1pm to be told check-in was not until 5pm. This was a little surprising as we'd not experienced anything near as drastically late as this anywhere ever before. On the way back from the luggage room I couldn't help but notice the German family (also 2 adults and 2 children) who were BEHIND us in the check-in queue had been given their key cards and were being guided to their room. I politely questioned this with reception to be told it was the "luck" of when the rooms were ready. To hotel is a reasonable way out the main resort, so after walking around for over 3 hours with our valuables in tow, we headed back to the hotel to chance the room being available at 4:30pm, but no luck. Magically, at 5pm the room keys were finally ready for handover and we could check-in alongside a few other "unlucky" guests, who I noted also just happened to be English… Our room was tucked away on the ground floor near the kids club in the shadows of a massive cactus so struggled a bit for natural light, at least it was quiet I guess. I wouldn't call the room "dated", but would say it was "traditional", although rooms do lack air conditioning which can warrant a double take these days. The room temperature was ok for April, but I wouldn't be as confident in August, particularly if you were lucky to have a nicer south facing upper room. Naturally, our safety deposit box did not work on first attempt so back to reception I went to be told an engineer would be around later. As it was pushing 5:30pm at this point and we needed to get showered and ready to head out for food, I needed to stand my ground and bite my lip a bit after being told "it's ok, you can lock your possessions in your room while you go out". The receptionist finally decided to phone the engineer to send him around to fix the issue. The rooms were cleaned to a good standard; however this was only on 4 days out of the 7. A quick towel change and bin empty on the other days would have been nice, but we had no cleaning at all on 3 of the days. We never ventured to the beach to have trailed sand in, so I suppose we got away with this. The pool area was the highlight and saviour which was the main reason for picking this hotel. Maintenance was excellent, cleanliness was great and the water was warm, even on an overcast April morning. The free mini golf is a nice addition and fills an hour, likewise this is maintained well and is set amongst pleasant surroundings. The on-site shop was fine for the essentials and is similar in price to the Hiperdinos dotted around the resort, but we did need to venture to these when doing the bigger stock-ups for more variety. They do however make cracking fresh croissants in the morning. As we were self-catering and only credited the odd ice cream to the room we were surprised to be told we'd ran up 120€ of charges upon check-out which we were just expected to pay without seeing any itemised output. After insisting on seeing the invoice we spotted an incorrect meal charge of over 90€ had been charged to our room. A bit of a stand-off later and when the receptionist checked the signatures on the receipts, the charges were rightly amended. Overall, we had an enjoyable time, however the check-in experienced did tarnish things for us. All the kids want to do after being up from 2am is to have a nice afternoon dip in the pool to start off their holiday. While other snags where corrected, this could have been a solid 5 star review, but not with half a day of our holiday lost.
