Location Great location. Taxi rank and shopping centre directly opposite. Short walk to Siam Park (easily doable with 5 year old). Stones throw from main bus routes/excursion pick ups. Short downhill walk to marina for boat trips and beachfront (uphill back though!) short taxi ride from airport costs around 30 euros. Rooms This was the only real negative for me. Walls are paper thin could practically hear next door fart. Entertainment is loud and goes on until gone 11. This didn’t bother us once we got into the swing of it but difficult to get an earlier night if needed. Huge balcony would have been lovely to have a sunbed out there. Beds are very firm. Beds made and fresh towels daily but cleaning was minimal. Loads of water machines in corridors and wrist band opens room door, both of which are great ideas. Pools/sunbeds We arrived just before May half term and for the first few days plenty of sunbeds were still available at midday. Once half term got into full swing they were taken by 8.30 but the staff were bringing out extra beds to ensure everyone was catered for which was great. There is a reuse station for left over inflatables/pool toys/suncream etc. which is such a good idea and was well used. Pools are a nice temp and the general vibe around the pool was good. Didn’t use the adults only area but it looked nice. Food/drink Food is good the downside is there’s only 1 restaurant so it does get repetitive. Snack bar outside can be used during the day for a slight change of scene. It was nice to be welcomed with a drink each night and the non alcoholic option for kids was a nice touch. Loved the days where cava and orange juice was available at breakfast. Live cooking stations were popular. My fussy 5 year old ate really well. Drinks at meals are all help yourself (water, beer, wine, fizzy drinks, juice, ice tea, hot drinks). The same help yourself offering is available around the pool (minus the wine) but cava and orange juice available to help yourself on the pool bar all day which I loved. The downside was the cocktails weren’t good, all pre-made and very sweet. The only positive of this were the bar queues were kept to a minimum, you were never waiting more than a few moments for a drink. My daughter loved the help yourself ice creams around the pool/evening entertainment (vanilla/lemon cornettos and fruity ice lollies). The bowls of crisps/nuts in the evenings were also a good touch. Entertainment The best entertainment was delivered by the animation team. The karaoke night, Disney night and greatest showman were fantastic and to a high standard. They are all very talented and make an amazing effort with the kids. My daughter is shy and prefers to watch but they still made an effort to acknowledge her and make her feel special which was so appreciated. Especially 2 of the female interns (one of which had just landed a permanent role). The nights with outside acts weren’t as good in comparison and were mainly catered to the 60+ age range (abba/Beatles/queen). This was a shame as particularly during half term the average clientele was younger. The team also work hard during the day with foam parties, water carpet, inflatables, sports and kids club. Our daughter visited the kids club once for face painting and enjoyed it. It’s in a very secure location at the back of the complex and we felt safe leaving her. Other facilities Onsite shop has a good range of stock (perfumes/beauty products/souvenirs/snacks/toys). Pop up stalls each day/night next to the buffet also a great idea (clothes/bags/personalised items/toys). Courtesy room on check out day was fantastic. No need to book, plenty of towels available, nice modern showers and sink area with hair drier. Plenty of communal toilets available in the hotel and always clean. This is our second stay in an Iberostar and I would highly recommend this chain of hotels they have great touches and ideas to help improve their guests stay and overall I would recommend.
