We stayed here last week and thought I would write a review as I was slightly worried having read some negative reviews before going. We originally booked a different hotel through loveholidays but the hotel was closed so we were offered this hotel as an alternative. Our original hotel was on the Golden Mile where as this hotel is at the far end of the Veronicas Strip. We are a couple in our 20's and like a lively atmosphere but are not mad partiers by any extent. We thought the hotel itself was fine, but the location was not ideal for us personally. It is central if you are looking for late bars/ nightclubs but personally that wasn't for us. Also every day at the pool there was entertainment and blaring music all day, which meant we actually didn't go that often as it is not as if you can relax properly, which is something we would normally like. It was okay for us however as we just walked around Americas and there is plenty to do. In the evening however as we are not mad into the party scene, we found ourselves going for dinner / drinks in the other side of Las Americas / Golden Mile direction, however you would want to keep your wits about you if you are walking back down veronicas strip, we were asked several times a day if we wanted to buy drugs and people out on the strip trying to get you into their bars. and as a girl I personally didn't feel safe. This is no fault of the hotel itself simply just the location. After a few days we realised you could walk home via the beach which was a much quieter option. We were in room 226 and haven't got many complaints in all honesty. I was worried about all the reviews about cockroaches in the rooms, we did have one on the first day but that was it. the furniture is dated but for all the time you are in the room it was nothing to complain about. It was on second floor and balcony was directly looking over pool so not a whole lot of privacy but not a whole pile that can be done about that. If you prefer a bit more privacy and to sit out on the balcony I would say maybe just request a higher floor. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything in your neighbours. We had a lot of young people in the rooms next to us screaming all night and banging on doors trying to get into their rooms at all hours of the morning after coming back from a night out. No fault of the hotel itself but just the clientele. There is also a supermarket a short walk up the hill which was handy. Can't comment on food at hotel as we were self catering. A good range of guests at the hotel from young partygoers, to families to pensioners. We did pay a 100 euro deposit on arrival but it was back in my boyfriends account the night we returned home. Overall, I do think the hotel is good, and for what you pay for it I couldn't really fault it other than the location, but it will work well for people who want to be on Veronicas , it just personally wasn't what we wanted to do in our evenings. Staff were decently friendly also.
