Rooms I stayed at Ona Palm Beach with my husband last week and really enjoyed my time there. The room was massive, I was expecting a bedsit/studio type thing but it was like a proper flat, there was a separate living area where the kitchenette was with a sofa, a coffee table, a dining table, a TV and a good sized balcony. The kitchenettte had crockery, cutlery and pans provided. The TV had ITV and BBC. The balcony had a cactus, a small table and chairs and a pull out clothes rail which was really handy for towels and swimsuits. The bathroom was quite big and even had a bidet and two sinks. The bedroom had a little dressing table and bedside tables. The beds were two singles pushed together with separate blankets but maybe that's for the best as I did accidently get a bit of sand on my side. Also they did seem bigger than normal singles. We were on the 8th floor so we had a great view of the sea, the swimming pool and the mountains. Facilities There is a big swimming pool with sun loungers around it, and also a corner shop type shop next to reception to buy snacks and drinks which is very convienient. There is also a nice little courtyard area which you can look down onto which has lots of trees and tweety birds. Location The location of the hotel is really handy, it is walking distance away from the bus station (where you can get the number 40 to and from the airport), the beach, Siam Park, Siam Mall (which has a big supermarket in it), lots of restaurants and a harbour where you can go on excursions such as scuba diving and snorkelling. The sea at the beach opposite the hotel is very choppy, so if you are after swimming and snorkelling I would reccommend Playa del Bobo which is a short walk away. Playa del Bobo has a rocky bit which juts out in such a way that it blocks a lot of the waves making it a lot calmer, and I saw a starfish there. As with any tourist city you do have to be careful of pick pockets. I got my purse pick pocketed on the way from the hotel to Siam Mall but luckily my husband was with me and he sprang into action and chased the criminal so thanks to his bravery I got my purse back. You'll be fine if you just don't have your purse in an easily accessible pocket of your backpack like I did. Entertainment I wasn't sure if I would like the entertainment or not because I'm not that good with loud noise, but it was wicked. It wasn't too noisy, just the right volume that you could hear it clearly without being deafened, and also the balcony doors blocked out most of the sound if you did want more peace and quiet in your room. The entertainment team did a really good job and had a joyful energy that made me feel joyful too. On the Tuesday evening there was a singer on who I watched from the balcony, on the Wednesday evening there was an acrobatics duo and my favourite was the foam party on Thursday afternoon in the pool. As part of the foam party the entertainments team did some dancing that I enjoyed following along to, they had all the best party tracks including Saturday Night, Macarena and YMCA. I got out of the pool to go and get ready for my restaurant reservation but then I got back in again because I didn't want to miss YMCA. Overall a great stay and I'm not sure when and where I'll next be going abroad but if I do go to Costa Adeje again one day I would like to return here.
