We arrived back yesterday from a lovely week at the Tagoro in Costa Adeje with our 2 teenagers age 17 and 19. I was worried at first the place felt quite small and was busy but it did not cause any issues. Also the 2 rooms / apartments we were given were number 28 and 29 which is right next to the outside / poolside bar but again this actually gave many more benefits than issues. The only issues were a few times people would come down and smoke on our patio as its no smoking by the food area and leave there cigarette butts laying around. It could also be a little noisy at times. The positives were we were nice and close to everything and could eat and drink on our patio in private but be next to the bar for drinks. The rooms were huge and the beds were extremely comfy and we were very happy to be so central. The cocktails were very watery and not great so I just drank vodka and a mixer after a day or two of those. The first day seemed to have better ones but then they changed the cocktail menu and they went a bit down hill. There was always water, soft drinks and beer on self service at the end of the bar by the pool and you had to queue to get anything else but was never too bad a wait. In the restaurant there was wine, beer and water you could help yourself to. One small but annoying thing that bugged me over the holiday was how tight they were with toilet roll. We ran out 3 times as they would only ever give one new one each time they left any. Luckily we had the children in the next room or could get some from the communal toilets if needed but it was frustrating to keep running out. The food was nice. The dinner was different themed each evening and we all always found things we liked and ate too much. At breakfast in the morning they prepared fresh omelettes and waffles as well as lots of other options of buffet breakfast. We were big fan of the omelettes. The snack bar by the pool was great. It had chips nearly all the time and then had hot dogs, burgers, chicken nuggets, onion rings and pizza at different days and times so there was always food to have for snacks for hungry teenagers. The snacks finished at 5:30pm and dinner in the main restaurant starts at 7pm until 10pm. Lunch in the restaurant was at 1pm until 3pm. The guy working at the snack bar by the pool was great fun and always happy and singing and putting on masks and wigs to make people laugh. The pool was quite small and got quite busy so you couldn't swim in it properly but it was big enough to have a plash about and cool off. There was constantly activities going on and 2 of the days they had an inflatable activity centre on the pool. They did water aerobics and another water activities. I really wanted to do the water aerobics but it was always on around 12:30 when I was getting ready to have lunch so I didn't get chance but it looked like lots of fun. There always seemed to be lots going on and loads of activities for kids during the day and there was a board up to show when things were on. The entertainment in the evening was a bit disappointing, one evening we did sit and watch a singer who impersonated different people such at Freddie Mercury and Prince and he was good fun. Another evening It was advertised that the entertainment would be songs by Robbie Williams, Michael Bublé and Frank Sinatra but when we went there it was all just aimed at the little kids and the songs we had were Ed Sheeran, the macarena, YMCA, pump up the jam and Freed from desire. There was due to be a disco afterwards but the place emptied out at that point and there was just music playing through speakers We ended up spending most of our evenings sat playing cards and listening to our own music outside our rooms so it did not spoil our enjoyment. We managed to get a late check out for no extra cost which was very handy. Even though we did get phone calls as soon as the time was nearly up to go and check out. We did the Loro Parque trip which was amazing and I highly recommend it. It did take over 2 hours to get there on a coach but it really is a fabulous day out. We watched the shows of the Dolphins, Orca's and Sea Lions. We also did the Castillo San Miguel Castle Medieval adventure show and dinner which was great and a fun family evening out. It was about half hour on the coach for that one and the price includes your drinks once your inside the venue but there was about an hour before you go in where you have to pay for drinks from the bar in the foyer so be prepared for that. Also we were picked up to be taken there quite early and none of it opens until 6pm so there were lots of people standing around outside for half hour in the hot sun. We really wanted to go to the Sian water park as well but the trips were quite expensive so we couldn't afford to do more but it looked great!!. There is a shopping centre and supermarket about a 5 minute walk from the hotel which is really handy if you need to get any toiletries or other snacks and bits. On the way to it we discovered a hidden gem!! You have to walk past a bar called Wakanda which is amazing! we ended up going back a couple of times. The seating area outside is lovely and the seats SO comfortable. Some of the drinks are themed from the Black Panther movie so went down well with my family and the drinks were truly amazing!!!. I would highly recommend going here if you like a cocktail and want to chill out in a lovely area, it was always quiet as well so very relaxing just with some music playing. All in all it was a nice hotel and definitely caters well for younger children.

“Good basic hotel”

We stayed for 10 night nights beginning of July. Two adults and a sixteen year old. Overall we had a nice stay at the hotel but feel there’s not much to do. Evening entertainment is great for young kids, but not great for older kids and adults. Only good thing about the evening is the cocktails are on the all inclusive, if evening show is at the inside bar they are served in a glass, which is much more enjoyable. Rooms are very spacious and clean, which is all you want. Rooms cleaned everyday by friendly staff. Pool is great, has two lovely step entrances. You can take balls into the pool but no inflatables. Pool bar is self serve for water, soft drinks, lager. Food has to be ordered and not very clear what they serve there. Also not much seating area in the shade. Restaurant gets very busy, it’s a run for a free table at times. Always running out of the popular dishes, placing of butter and sauces are not where you think they should be. Self serve drinks in the restaurant. Breakfast is by far the best meal of the day. Hotel reception staff are all very friendly, always happy to order you a taxi. Prices vary depending on the time of day, always between €5-€7. The union bar across the road is a nice break from the hotel, staff are very friendly and it’s a great spot to watch the sun set. Ask at reception the day before you leave if you want to keep your room on for longer. Or you can use their shower room, which is great they also provide free towels. We had a lovely relaxed holiday, but food let the hotel down.

We recently stayed here as a family of 11 – 7 adults (including 3 grandparents) and 4 young children aged between 1 and 3 years old. We were really looking forward to our holiday, but unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. From the moment we arrived, the service wasn’t great. We had 9 suitcases, 7 pieces of hand luggage and 3 buggies, yet not once were we offered any assistance getting to our rooms. After a long day of travelling, this would have been greatly appreciated. When we reached our accommodation, we discovered our two “Deluxe” rooms had stairs leading up to them. As we were travelling with toddlers/ babies and buggies, this was completely impractical. We went to reception to explain the situation and ask if we could move. The only option offered was what they described as a downgraded room, with no refund or compensation despite us having paid extra for Deluxe rooms. We accepted because we had little choice, only to find the replacement rooms were virtually identical. The only noticeable difference was that we lost our balcony and instead had a larger terrace area. It left us wondering what exactly we had paid extra for, because there was nothing that felt “deluxe” about the original rooms. Families with young children should also be aware that there are stairs everywhere throughout the resort. Be prepared to carry buggies up and down constantly. Food I’m usually very easy-going when it comes to all-inclusive buffet food and can always find something to eat, but this was honestly the worst buffet food I’ve experienced. The menu barely changed throughout our stay. Lunch and dinner were almost identical every day, with only one or two dishes changing. Every meal consisted of chips, pizza (which never seemed to be cooked properly as the cheese was barely melted), paella, the same vegetables and dried-up new potatoes. To make matters worse, many of the serving dishes were constantly empty and weren’t replenished nearly quickly enough. One evening we arrived for dinner at 8pm (service starts at 7pm) and at least seven different dishes were completely empty. I went back around 10 minutes later and they still hadn’t been refilled. I’ve uploaded photos to show this. The snack bar wasn’t much better. If you wanted anything other than chips, you’d have to wait and hope it was restocked. The selection was extremely limited and once something had gone, that was it. At one point I walked over to tell my husband they’d put out some chicken strips, but by the time I walked back they had all gone. When I asked the chef, he told me there wouldn’t be any more. Swimming pools The children’s splash pool was lovely and my daughter really enjoyed it. However, while there is a soft drinks station nearby, if adults want an alcoholic drink you have to walk right across to the opposite end of the hotel to the main pool bar. Another disappointment was the pool rules regarding inflatables. We were told that no floats were allowed other than swimming aids. My parents had a very small mesh floating seat and were told to remove it. We also had a baby float suitable for infants and were told that wasn’t allowed either because it was “too big”. In all the holidays we’ve been on, we’ve never experienced anything like this. If you’re planning on bringing inflatables for the pool, don’t waste your money as you won’t be allowed to use them. I’ve uploaded a photo of the float we were told wasn’t permitted. Facilities The indoor soft play area was a lovely addition. It gave our one-year-old, who has just started walking, somewhere safe to explore while getting out of the sun. The standout part of the holiday was the animation team. The two male entertainers who led the daytime pool activities and evening children’s entertainment were fantastic. They were full of energy every single day, made a huge effort with both children and adults, and are a real credit to the resort. Overall, we left feeling very disappointed. Between the poor room allocation, lack of customer service, repetitive food, constantly empty buffet trays and impractical layout for families with young children, this simply wasn’t the relaxing family holiday we had hoped for. Sadly, we won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this resort to other families, especially those travelling with babies or toddlers.

We have just returned from our 6th stay at this hotel, having first visited 10 years ago and to be honest will probably be our last time. We love the location of the hotel and my goodness the staff work so hard, however it didn't have the same friendly atmosphere. The sunbeds were packed so closely together, you had to really squeeze past to get out. On one occasion a family pushed our loungers aside while we were in the pool, knocking off our belongings to squeeze more loungers in. The restaurant was so busy at times, it was difficult to find a table and on occasions would find that the food choices were limited as had run out and waiting for more to come out. We also found the pool area was sometimes dirty, dirty plasters and hair bobbles beside sun loungers. The fan in the bedroom is very noisy and not very effective. It's such a shame as we absolutely loved this hotel and have had fabulous holidays with our kids. The staff do work incredibly hard, however it just felt that they were unable to cope with the high volume of guests. We felt a bit sad about this holiday as we have always had such a fabulous time when staying here previously but unfortunately it has lots it's sparkle and time to try something new.
