As always we have had a fantastic 10 nights at this great hotel everyone has been so helpful ,Jose and his team Muhammed ,Ray , Mario to name just a few make the holiday special , the restaurants are excellent again with great service always with a smile . The Redlevel breakfast again has everything you could want with the freshly ordered food piping hot . The reception couldn’t be more helpful and always at the end of the phone if needed. Jose arranged a fantastic trip Whale watching off the Island of La Gomera on a beautiful sail boat with lunch at a secluded beach thanks again to everyone at the hotel for making our holiday special see you all in September when we will be back. I stayed here with my 23-year-old niece, and it was our first experience of the Red Level. As an independent travel agent, I’ve spent the past year getting to know the brand and visiting several of its properties, so I was keen to try this upgrade. We initially booked a standard room but upgraded to Red Level Adults Only a few days before arrival, as my niece needed a quiet space to manage some university work. It proved to be an excellent decision. From arrival on Wednesday through to departure on Sunday, everything exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious, well laid out, and had all the usual amenities. The beds and linens were very comfortable, and there was plenty of space for everything we needed. We spent most of our time at the adults-only pool, which was peaceful and relaxing, with attentive waiter service available when required. Breakfast was a real highlight, offering both a buffet and an à la carte menu. There were no queues, and both the food quality and service were consistently excellent. Refreshments were available throughout the day, and the open bar with light snacks from 16:30 to 18:00 was a lovely added touch. Every member of staff was attentive and contributed to a genuinely personalised experience. Overall, a fantastic stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Red Level experience for anyone looking for a more relaxed and premium stay. Thank you Melia we can not wait to return.

“Red Level Heads Up”

The Hotel isn't fully adults only, just a small section at the end of the resort.  There are only two adult only restaurants;  Le Bistro and Dos Naifes (dinner only for that one).  Only Le Bistro is included in your Red Level All Inclusive package, Dos Naifes is not, that is only open for dinner two days a week and is particularly expensive. Not all rooms are in the Adult Only, Red Level area.  Junior Suites Ocean View are in the main part of the hotel, and at times noisy, as stuck bang in the middle of an early evening music bar area and the late evening main entertainment area.  However the evening entertainment does finish promptly at 11, then it's quiet.  To get Red Level rooms you'd need to book the Sea View with Jacuzzi, these are at the front overlooking the pool and full sea view - however there only appeared to be six of these.  Or book side sea view rooms, there seemed to be a lot more of these in the main Red Level 'block'. The All Inclusive package may just be worth it on balance if you want three meals a day but the drinks are restricted - only one beer available throughout all bars and restaurants, two types of wine across red/white/rose and cocktails only at bars not in restaurants (none of this was outlined when we upgraded to All Inclusive!).  The food across the resort was very good in my opinion, especially the Le Bistro in the Red Level area where you have breakfast each day, you can also have lunch there but that menu was restrictive with only one vegetarian option (goats cheese salad), no fish options.  Dinner is also available there within the All Inclusive package but only two days a week.  Seeing as there were no other adult only restaurants within the All Inclusive package I wish I could have just had breakfast, lunch and dinner there every day!  The other restaurant to note was Algarve (lunch only).  This is a Mexican and was lovely, but this was in the main hotel area and there were a lot of young families, buggies - not for us, wish that had been adult only or even a dedicated adult only section ....  There is a new adult only bar on 6th Floor of the main hotel, but this isn't included in the All Inclusive package!?? I understand you could get some tapas there.  So this is where you have to weigh up the value of All Inclusive if you want adult only as the two dont really align... Overall it wasn't for us, we wanted an adult only holiday and this couldn't fully deliver.  The Resort is huge, 600 odd rooms - loads of families/kids/buggies, you couldn't really escape them, especially at night.  Also I would add there is nothing outside the resort, no real cute tavernas/bars to go to escape in the evening.  The rooms probably need a refresh of decor, beds were huge but 'wobbled' from side to side when anyone moved in the night.  I personally didnt find them very comfortable.  Lift was out of service on our floor the whole time we were there, we did report this - so be prepared for some stairs!  Finally on a positive! I will mention that we found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful, as much as they could - special shout out to Angel and Mohamed in the Red Level area who always had smiles on their faces and delivered a first rate service!

Feel like I’ve been sold a pup… booked a junior suite with a sea view adults only ‘red level’ luxury package but was allocated a room right in the middle of the hotel, away from the ‘tranquil’ adults only part of the hotel so I got to listen to over enthusiastic DJs outside my hotel room at 7pm in the evening when I would have preferred to chill with a beer and my own mellow tunes on my balcony. So basically my balcony was a no go zone as the sun started to set (was offered an alternative room but underwhelming, so decided to stay put and admire my balcony through the glass doors). In any event, the balcony has a high solid concrete wall, so if you sit down on your balcony the view is gone anyway! Room is clean and spacious but a bit tired, two massive cracks in the toilet, cracks in wall tiles, rust in corners of bathroom mirrors and quite a few stains and marks on surfaces. Also got taken in by the ‘upgrade to all inclusive’ hard sell only to find the hotel has it’s own unique definition of all inclusive - only one beer and very limited choice of wines is included across all the restaurants. How can a 600 room hotel offer ONE beer across its numerous bars?! If you’re ‘all inclusive’ but you fancy a Kirin beer with your sushi dinner that will be another 8 euros my friends! No chance of a frozen Mojito by the red level pool as the ice machine has been broken for a month… I guess the hotel is waiting for the same engineer to turn up that will also fix the lift in our block that has been out of order since we arrived. Limited options for a late night drink, you basically have Nemos bar that’s more Benidorm than 5 star Tenerife or you can shell out more euros (even if you’re all inclusive) for the rooftop bar… and don’t waste time venturing out into the town to find a nice bar for a change of scenery, as there aren’t any! The hotel is clean, the staff are lovely and the food is quite good, but I won’t be coming back.
