Arrived at the Hotel Cristina on the 16th March for a seven night stay. On arrival we was very much welcomed by the hotel receptionists, and we were offered a drink. We asked if we could upgrade our room from a comfortable room, for a room with a balcony, the receptionists looked and I also asked for a low level floor , they were able to accommodate our request, we could not get a room overlooking the sea, as they were all booked. The welcoming was exceptional , staff, so polite and helpful We were very pleased with our room, it was very spacious, very clean, it overlooked the city, The bed was a king size, bedding lovely and crispy clean and comfortable. We stayed Bed and Breakfast, you was greeted every morning by enthusiastic staff and supervised to a table for you to to sit. There is so much choice at breakfast, you will not go hungry, it was all so very fresh. Omelettes cooked with fillings of your choice, fried eggs should you wish them, pancakes. Fresh fruit ready available. Fresh bread, rolls etc Continental breakfast with so much choice, as well as cooked breakfasts The list goes on If you want prosecco in the morning, it is also there for you. The catering staff were polite, professional and always smiling. The staff cleaning tables preparing tables were also very professional and helpful. The swimming pool was very nice, and had plenty of beds, as we like the beach, we did not venture around the pool, but the area was spotless. The hotel bar was very nice as was the bar staff, yes you pay a bit more, but you are also sitting in comfortable suroundings, and on a hotel. Couple of the nights, we came back early and they had entertainment on which had the guests involved. The hotel overlooks a beautiful beach, you will see people playing Volleyball, they love the sport, There is so many restaurants you can choose from and bars if just want a drink. The bus service is also good and easy to navigate, should you wish. I would reccomend Hotel Cristina not just for the fantastic position it is allocated but for the service they provide their guests, they are very person centred.

Stayed for a week in March. Check in, quick and easy, very helpful, polite staff. Room on the 9th floor with a view of the harbour, lovely view of cruise ships coming in and out. Lovely clean hotel, lovely views of the beach front from the reception and restaurant. Breakfast was good, plenty of choices, buffet breakfast. Room was cleaned daily, fresh towels every day. Lovely pool area and bar, towels provided. Good location, easy access to bus stop. Definitely recommend.

Good points: efficient staff , great sea view room( extra cost for sea view), wide choice at breakfast , dinner buffet reasonable price, excellent location on promenade and beach, evening entertainment in bar( mixed in quality between the performers) concierge team helpful both in advance and during stay Less good; rooms even deluxe not large, small separate toilet and bathroom ( with shower over), extra charges for water in your room after first night, not good for supposedly 5 star hotel) , buffet selection breakfast and dinner more 4 than 5 star) Stayed 2 nights prior to a cruise. Had stayed previous years twice in their sister hotel in Costa Adeje( Gran Tacande). Hotel Christina not of same quality in any department. I would rate it as good 4 star but not 5

The hotel Christina is in a great location on La Canteras Playa. Central for walking to bus station, marina, and Aquarium. But that's the best part about it. The staff are very efficient and friendly. The tea/coffee water supplies in the rooms are not replenished, so either take your own, or buy from a local shop, much cheaper than the hotel charges. The pool area gets no sunshine until after lunchtime, but there is a 10am stampede to lay out towels, which people then leave unattended, despite there being notices clearly stating, not to reserve them, we gave up after first day and started using the beach, 2 sunbeds snd parasol for 12 euros. Other days we hop on a bus to the south of the island resorts, where the sun shines all day. €7.60 for one way. Breakfast in the hotel is actually very good, lots of choice to suit all pallets. But on several occasions the Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, beans where all cold. The evening meal, for Half board, looked very inviting, great choices again, but once again is disappointing to find most of the hot food was cold. Only the food cooked to order by the grill chef was guaranteed to be hot. The lobby bar only opens at 6pm, we ordered 2 glasses of wine before going to restaurant. And paid. Then in the restaurant we ordered 2 more wines to go with our meal, upon exit, they give you the bill, we then found out that drinks are approximately 1€ extra in the restaurant!! So we began purchasing the drink in the bar and carrying into the restaurant. We have travelled extensively to many different countries and continents, and I have to say, this hotel doesn't compare to other 4 star places. In fact it should be 3 stars at most. All in all, the hotel has a great location, but just book bed and breakfast, plenty of lovely restaurants to eat and drink at.
