The Arona Gran is a good quality 4 star adult only hotel. Staff are polite and helpful, food is plentiful and varied and the pools are clean and well maintained. One minor gripe is the quality of coffee served in the hotel. I expect breakfast coffee from the machines to be bland but disappointingly the bar coffee is not a whole lot better. You can get better and considerably cheaper coffee in one of the many local bars and cafes. Just a minor gripe though. This was our second visit and we will return. The clientele are mainly older people, I’m mid fifties and I felt relatively young by comparison :-). But overall great stay I look forward to returning next year.

This was our first time at the Arona Gran. It's design, architecture and overall form is very much along Grand Hotel lines, it reminded me of one or two other well designed hotels in the Canaries with its impressive grand entrance and atrium. It is also served by half a dozen or so Lifts which amply and effortlessly take you to whichever floor you need to go to. There is also a shopping arcade on the ground floor. Upon arrival we were allocated a slight upgrade from our side sea view room that we had booked, to a more full sea view room overlooking the pool. We stayed Half Board, in Room 435. The management and staff here are to be commended. The hotel is clearly very well run, and all of the staff appear to take pride in serving the guests. And the upbeat presentation around the pool on the Wednesday of our stay introducing the staff to the guests was a nice touch. We soon felt that we had come to the right place for our holiday. As well as the excellent service, the food is excellent. In the Restaurant the staff always found us a table very quickly, there was always a good selection of dishes available, our drinks order at dinner always taken and brought to our table promptly. We always felt that we'd had a really good and enjoyable dinner. There is also a regular evening entertainment programme. I missed the Queen tribute band as that evening we were visiting extended family whom were staying in nearby Playa De Las Americas. There were usually two acts each night so as to provide a fairly full programme. I especially appreciated guitarist/singer Dale Philips - his rendition of Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here' was superb, as was his performance of The Eagles 'Hotel California'. A fair mixture of acts across the whole week of our stay, a lot of classic Soul and other well known popular songs, as well as a Tina Turner tribute. All performed very well and very professionally. Something for everyone, including a number of guests up on the dance floor. And the Waiting staff, Soto and his team, ensure that drinks are served pretty much as soon as you ask for them and keep everything ticking along nicely. We also found that any requests for such as an Iron and Ironing Board were delivered to our room within minutes of their request. And even when I enquired about a small technical hitch with the Safe in our room, a Technician arrived within about two minutes - a very competent young man, he figured it out very quickly that we had been given the wrong room activation code which was in fact for room 433 and so it was corrected very quickly. We always got the impression that if we had occasion to ask for anything that somehow it was just arrive within a few minutes. Everything just seemed to be so well run and the Iron and Ironing Board brought to our room was as good the one at home if not better. When the food is excellent, with good service, the staff are all so helpful, and in such pleasant surroundings, it is easy to just sit back, relax and enjoy your holiday. This was our first visit to the Arona Gran. We hope to visit again soon.

Excellent hotel. Food very good and plenty of choice. Evening entertainment good. I always think it is a shame that once the main act finishes around 10.30 most people exist the room - the back up entertainment then comes on and plays to very few people. Often the backup acts are as good as the main act. the hotel is keep to a good standard. I only have one issue to mention. I arrived late evening and by the time I had unpacked and was ready for bed at 11.45 pm I found the sheet and pillow case on the bed was not a fresh one although the top bedding had been changed. The reason I know I was right as I found a sock in the bed ! This was immediately put in the rubbish bin. Obviously made sure I had a shower as soon as I got up. I left the note on the bed to change the bedding and when I returned clean bedding had been put on the bed. I was not sure whether to mention the issue to reception but decided not to as it was my first night there and was not sure if I would get someone into trouble. I will be visiting the hotel again soon

“Staying Up”

Stayed in the up for the first time, very nice but please be aware that the birds are a nuisance and fly onto the food which is not acceptable
