We had a wonderful stay at this resort and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday. The resort is beautifully maintained, very clean, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious, well designed, and cleaned to a high standard every day. The main buffet restaurant is good and offers exactly what you would expect, with plenty of variety. The themed restaurants provide a quieter and more refined dining experience, although reservations are required. The steak restaurant was definitely our favorite and is a must-try. The swimming pools are excellent, and there are usually plenty of sunbeds available. Unfortunately, the familiar habit of reserving loungers with towels early in the morning also exists here, so the best spots are often taken before breakfast. The promenade alongside the resort is perfect for a relaxing evening walk after dinner, with a lovely atmosphere. The resort's parking area was a great convenience, and we always managed to find a space. Parking on the street outside, however, is extremely busy during the day, so having access to the resort's parking made a big difference. Overall, this is an excellent resort for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a comfortable stay on the island. We would definitely stay here again.

First time staying here and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish I am a RIU member and got a discount on my hotel + free pick up & drop off to & from hotel. Really great incentive to book with RIU Reception was so welcoming . We got checked in with a lady , unfortunately I can’t remember her name but absolutely hugely informative & so professional. All staff at reception throughout our stay were incredibly helpful & are an inspiration to its hotel & employer. Quality Tailored uniforms & so respectful no matter how small or big a request . Hotel was refurbished downstairs & it was so inviting , so modern , so contemporary so bright with many bars & restaurants situated in different parts of the complex. The White night extravaganza was truly memorable and my 2 eldest daughters 18 & 20 were blown away with this event. The choice of songs were what they love. The Riu hotel beside us joined our hotel and truly this was like an open air concert with high performance actors & incredible choice of music & dance . However entertainment is way too early & finishes up too early. Perfect for kids but people are eating dinner at 7/7.30and the music is starting so really believe this needs a review. Pool area so extensive with lots of nice bars & food stations. Every bed is almost gone at 7am . Infinity adult area so fabulous & live music there many days in the afternoon. The pool was glorious with pre-built beds in the pool. Absolutely fabulous area to relax & embrace & overlook the tea. The food was so varied , super fresh & so flavoursome. Lovely mix of vegetables & salads & an incredible choice. The themed restaurants are just beyond amazing. The sushi & bbq restaurants we chose were beyond fabulous . There was always so much & Thor hotel does not sting in any way. All inclusive drinks great choice. House keeping staff so friendly . Room cleaned everyday. They work so hard & always smiling Few Negatives but just constructive feedback We just love it here but the only massive CON was the way down to the rooms. Like the 60s/70s , the red broken tiles , some actually raised & dry dash plastered walls with many stains. it does not represent the style or vibe of the hotel or the ultra modern decor down stairs. Rooms are so basic it’s just not reality as downstairs it’s fabulous decor & one is laughing at the other. Even if they put the grey wooden flooring down on the hallways it would be more warm & inviting. Just is not acceptable for a RIU to have this dated accommodation & hallways to the rooms . I really hope their next project is rejuvenating this area. At Breakfast the chefs wouldn’t do a self built version of an omelette you wanted . They were all made & put into piles with different options I am not into cheese but the regular omelette was so plain no taste & no veg. I love to order my omelette with ham veg etc & get it well done that many hotels do , but that was not an offering here so let me more restricted with my diet issues .Tables could be challenging in terms of getting a table made up as the turnover was too fast for staff to replenish but it’s high season & they done their best . Would be good if they put some plastic tables at beds . Have to put your drinks on the ground & insects creep up your glasses. This was very strange I thought . All of the staff are incredibly hardworking & friendly except Walio in the sports bar that worked there but was not friendly , cold & would never said thank you. One day he left 6 customers waiting for nearly 10 minutes , nobody in the bar , no service and didn’t even say sorry when he eventually came back but on the way joked with staff . However all The other staff make this place so amazing and it’s not easy keeping a smile every day & going the extra mile We have travelled to a lot of all inclusive resorts but this hotel is so plentiful. You can get a coffee from a lovely barista area during your day with buns cakes mini rolls all part of the package. Really lovely touch would be one of my main reasons for returning just to relax & enjoy a coffee of your choice & the staff are so lovely here . They get to know you & know what you want. Definitely want up return with our family. We really hope that the accommodation & hallways are re-decorated the next time we come back as it is not in keeping with a RIU Wishing RIU Gran Canaria nothing only success & growth. I would highly recommend this hotel. It has everything you could ask for. From the moment we walked in we felt relaxed and welcome! Lots of pools to choose from and plenty of sunbeds. Great entertainment options too with a hard working entertainment team. The food was great with lots of options to suit all tastes, including 4 speciality, restaurants, the grill being our favourite, where the wine was actually drinkable, unlike the Italian speciality restaurant - where it was like vinegar!! There was a nice mix of international people. Fantastic location with easy access to the beach. And of course the RIU party was a highlight of the stay. The hotel room was spotlessly clean and kept clean every day. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a fan as well as air-conditioning. It would be nice to have a child free sitting option (or over 8 or something) in the speciality restaurants as after 8pm some kids get ratty and it did ruin it a little. We would like to mention Adrian on Reception and Yadira and Cathayasa in the grill as fantastic staff members.

We booked a 7 night holiday through TUI, 2 x rooms for 2 adults and 2 teens. PROS - Nice big size hotel and grounds - I had emailed the hotel few days before arrival to request if both rooms could be near each other, they replied super quick and rooms were allocated next door to each other - Great location, near beach, shops, restaurants etc - Rooms are fairly plain but good size, both of ours had balconies with garden views - Mini bar stocked with water, beer and soft drinks, all replenished every couple of days - Most of the staff friendly and helpful, only a couple were bit more on the grumpy side - Al La Carte restaurants easy to booked on the app - Steak restaurant was good, only one choice of steak but was cooked well and tasty. The couple starters were not to our liking but def worth booking to go - We’re not big on hotel entertainment but the shows did look pretty good compared to other places we’ve been to - Not huge drinkers but I enjoyed the Amstel beer on tap, there was also a lemon flavoured beer that was good, mojitos were good (with crushed ice) not sure how much alcohol was in them - Best coffee was at the Sports Bar - The cafe in the main reception area was nice, coffee not as strong as the Sports Bar, nice nibbles and sandwiches during the day CONS - Arrived about 21.45, reception checked us in quickly so we could quickly go get dinner before it closed at 22.00. Restaurant staff not particularly happy or helpful when we turned up, food mostly dried and no labels on to figure out what options there were - Food at the main buffs was good but not exactly amazing. Any type of beef, lamb etc was usually pretty tough so not enjoyable. Platters of carrots, peas, sweetcorn made it feel like school meals. Very busy, the hotel has 639 rooms so you can imagine the amount of people in there - Hand towels and bath towels are not great quality - Coffee from the machines was ok but not great, the coffee given in jugs at breakfast time was poor! - The Sunset Bar that has a view of the sea closed at 20.00 so you couldn’t go there after dinner which I thought was a shame
