Our experience at Koala Garden was overall a great one. Receptionist very helpful and professional same as waiters chefs and housekeepers. Poor Entertainment (don't want to even comment it) Food not too bad, there was a different choice at the grill every day, pizza corner fresh salads , all you need when you are in such a warm place. We went twice to Joeys Restaurant (easy to book in) first time was OK second time we left and went back to the main restaurant as there was more choice. Room was spacious and clean, bathroom same. Common areas tidy and clean, the toilets around pool areas spotless clean. Location In my opinion is very good, you're out of the noise but can get there in 20 min walk. We walked to Meloneras , Yumbo, playa de Ingles. (Not at once) Sidewalks zebra crossing all you need to have a nice and safe walk from the hotel. Last day hotel offered us opportunity to use one of the room for shower to get ready before leaving. (Check out 12noon-we got picked up at 7pm) you have 30 min to get in and out, enough for a quick shower. This was a plus ➕️ really great service. Great value if you have kids and family if you are a solo traveler or couple, bungalows or residences will work out cheaper.

Just a few observations from our eleven day stayat the Livvo Koala Garden for 4 adults visiting in late April 2026. ROOM Really great room with plenty of space. Love the fact that we had a shower cubicle and a bath. The supplied shower gel was really good quality and TVs in the lounge and bedroom was a bonus. One tip I would give is to take care in the shower, the adjuster tap is low down and it's easy to knock if moving round. Nearly scolded my nuts when I knocked it towards the hot position! Plenty of cupboard space and power points at both sides of the bed. Kettle and fridge provided. FOOD To be fair, we didn't go hungry although after the first few days the food did get a bit samey. Breakfast was the best meal and the fresh omelette was delicious although sadly not made to order with your own choice of additives. Bit strange that in our last few days the cornflakes and sugar puffs and muesli seemed to have other cereal mixed in to bulk them up! Lunch and dinner were edible with some days offerings better than others. There was always something though even if it was salad. The Italian restaurant was a bit of a let down to be honest. Spaghetti Bolognese was watery and minimal meat content. Other dishes were pre-prepared and there was at least a decent choice including vegetarian options. The thing that really let it down on our two visits was the heat in the room, either the Aircon was broken or not switched on. The snack bar was good but only available between 12:00 and 16:00. BAR The drink quality was really good although we didn't have any of the cocktails as these always tend to be too sugary for us. Amstel lager and Strongbow cider, albeit not full strength, are available on draught and the local spirits and wines were generally good. Bit strange that none of the draught wines in the restaurant were chilled. Only one bar (outdoor pool bar shared with indoor sports bar) open 11:00 until 23:00 and very limited seating around it unless you used the sunbeds. Never had to wait too long for a drink (you can each order 4 at a time) although at peak occupancy I imagine this may be different. POOL AREA Hotel has several different pool areas each with their own pool. We stayed in the zone three area which was nice and quiet and away from the kiddies entertainment and activity pools. Sunbeds not the best and would benefit from adding a full length cushion although I did manage to snooze on them. Sorry to neighbours for my snoring! The pool in zone three is 2m deep in the middle and quite cool, great for quick relief when the sun is at its hottest. Clean and well maintained pool areas although be warned that the AstroTurf can be really really hot on bare feet when the sun has done its job on it! My tip, there is a freezer near the kids fun pool area you can get tubs of decent ice-cream from, amazing how many people were unaware of this! LOCATION Quiet area and if you want to shop you'll have to visit one of the many shopping centres dotted around Maspalomas. There is the Holiday World complex a Spar and a fast food joint within easy walking distance. The hotel provides a daily free bus service to Playa del Ingles (9:30, return pick up 15:30) and a taxi for the same trip costs around 7/8 Euros. OTHER COMMENTS WiFi is available throughout the hotel, each room also has its own network although they all use the same password. Connects easily enough but don't expect fast speeds. We tended to use our roaming allowance more than WiFi as 5g coverage in the area is good, better in fact than in many areas of the UK which is a sad indictment on our country! As already mentioned, there is a lack of seating near the only bar. We tended to use the Jet2 reps desk in reception in the evening as we like to play cards and this was the only suitable place. Fortunately the bar was just downstairs so drink refills weren't a problem. Evening entertainment was provided in the outdoor amphitheatre (kids mini disco followed by various shows or bingo!) but we preferred to play cards. A mention must also be made of the hotel staff who were absolutely brilliant - friendly, efficient - and contributed to an enjoyable holiday. SUMMARY A really enjoyable holiday in which we were able to relax and recharge our batteries in peace and quiet. We would definitely come back here although probably not in peak season. The hotel has its limitations and probably shouldn't be rated as 4 star but it has enough going for it to make up for that and provide a wonderful time for all.

“Disappointed”

The location wasn’t great. Not much to do in the area. A Spar for shopping and we found a park for the kids. Bus to Maspalomas which was lovely but only once a day pick up and drop off. So hot Taxi back. The apartments were ok. Cleaners were not too good. Forgot to leave towels or tea bag’… more

The location wasn’t great. Not much to do in the area. A Spar for shopping and we found a park for the kids. Bus to Maspalomas which was lovely but only once a day pick up and drop off. So hot Taxi back. The apartments were ok. Cleaners were not too good. Forgot to leave towels or tea bag’s and milk. Had to go and ask on a few occasions. Also too early in morning to do a clean and they said they couldn’t come back later. Only got water on arrival so had to keep filling up yourself or buy water. The swimming pools were all too deep so had to stand on top toe in them which made it difficult to play with grandchildren and also very cold. You had to go to main pool area near reception to use kids small pool which was slightly warmer. Also music to listen to and get drinks and snacks. At our pool there was a coffee machine and fizzy drinks and beer. Not cleaned very often. Food was basic for a four star. But always found something to eat. Staff friendly. Kids entertainment very good and the staff great. Enjoyed bingo, quizzes and shows which were very good. We enjoyed ourselves but were disappointed with a few things. We wouldn’t visit again.
