To be honest we were very wary about going to this hotel as we had a bad experience in a Barcelo in Fuerteventura. We booked after going through a list of what we wanted as our usual Dubai trip was off limited this year. The hotel turned out to be marvellous. Could not fault it. We had a variety of rooms, swim up and suites. Staff are amazing, hotel clean and tidy, entertainment good, childrens club good, snack bar great, position of hotel fantastic. One small gripe was food could be hotter. Always a variety of food. Would we go back? Like a shot.

Overall location and quality of the hotel, accommodation, cleanliness, food and drink are excellent. The hotel is quite new so the shrubs and trees in the garden are quite immature, so as the years progress, I think the outside space will only get better. The pool is large, split into two, one heated, and it was heated to a nice temperature. There is a small childrens pool, but very few sun loungers there. We went at a quiet period in late May, but even so we could never get a sunlounger there; wasn't an issue for us as plenty of loungers elsewhere, but even in such a quiet period, people do queue from 9am to get the best spots; when it's busier that would be pretty irritating but that's not really the hotels fault. The location is very good within easy walking distance of Playa Dorada beach and the Marina. That said, it is very windy; we come the the area several times a year and know the area very well, so we know about the wind, but somehow the hotel feels a little exposed and seems to have a bit of a windtunnel through the pool; so on the windier days, you are much better down at the beach. The difference is noticable once you leave the hotel or return again. Restaurant was excellent in terms of table layout, food choices and selections, plenty of freshly cooked foods. Only slight negative is a logistic issue with everything being served in dishes with lids; makes it tricky to see what there is and juggle a plate, lid and spoon together; but it's a minor point. Drinks in the restaurant were self-service and plentiful, the wine and Cava was nice. The drinks in all the other bars were a good quality. The main cocktails are machine rather than freshly made, but you see that a lot. The teen club had plenty for older kids. Sports bar is nice, good range of drinks, has a premium feel to it. The piano bar is also very nice. Outside there is a tennis court, padel courts and basketball & 5-aside pitches. The rooms are very well laid out, and they have made the most of the space. We had a large double bed with two singles for children, but the room still felt well laid-out and plenty spacious. The balconies all seem to have a partial sea view. Staff were all excellent from reception, cleaning, bar, restaurant. The room was cleaned to a high standard every day. I would recommend it; just go to the beach on the windier days, it's only 5-mins away.
