Arrived for a short 3 night stay. The initial impression of the hotel when you pull up in a taxi is wow this looks lovely. The welcome was good and we were able to check in early glass of cava and cold towels on arrival. Our luggage was taken to the room by the porter and he explained the services and facilities in the room. Rooms are average we stayed in a club room bathroom facilities good mini bar that is stocked daily is a great addition all included in the club price. Coffee machine in room not great but we used it. Pool areas look tired in places and we were disappointed that there was work going on to small repairs in outside areas especially when you are outside eating breakfast and get have dust blowing in your food. Horizon club was the best pool drinks good prices and great views. Never any hassle to get sun beds at any time of day. Breakfast was not good the choice is really good and has everything you can think of. We tried both restaurants as had club room. Don’t see the point to the restaurant that was called à la carte as the only thing that is different is you are served a hot drink and a juice the rest is still Buffett self service with the same food as the buffet restaurant. Breakfast was cold or Luke warm on all 3 occasions and all very bland. Had freshly made omelettes one morning and this upset my stomach for the rest of the day. So glad we weren’t full board! The club snack room is a great idea and we used this couple of times. Location of hotel good marina and town within walking distance Definitely not a 5 star as falls short in a few places in our opinion. We had a lovely time but improvements needed

Very honest review Family of 8 with 2 kids & 2 teens, preferred club B&B rate. We enjoyed the holiday overall but felt the hotel was overpriced and overrated, a good 4-star resort at best rather than a true 5-star experience. While the location and some preferred guest benefits were positives, recurring service issues and a lack of genuine family-focused amenities significantly detracted from our stay. Strengths * Excellent location, like all hotels on that row in PB infront of the beach * Friendly, efficient bar staff and good cocktails. * Spacious hotel with plenty of sunbeds available, open & airy, nice rooms * Good kids’ club facilities for younger children, with engaged staff when at kids club * Preferred guest benefits were valuable, particularly: * Horizon infinity pool, we used this pool the most * Preferred lounge with snacks all day until 6pm. * Nice turndown service at night * Good spa facilities * Room view we paid for was lovely; ocean view and over the infinity pools Weaknesses * Poor and unhelpful late-night check-in experience, provided me with minimum information re preferred facilities & access etc & no food available (at 10.30pm). We had to leave the hotel for a pizza takeout. We then went to our room and discovered our bags hadn’t been taken up. The porter was very apologetic, the error lay with the receptionist & his lack of communication - it lead to over tired children crying who just needed to get into bed and had to wait for their bags at least an hour after we had arrived * Inconsistent housekeeping standards and had to request & then repeat 12-24 hrs later: * Delays changing sheets, even when requested * Amenities not regularly replenished. * Mini-bar not replenished daily & dirty dishes often overlooked, not removed, again, had to request * Slow response to room requests (e.g., a kettle took nearly two days to arrive, there is no hot water for tea otherwise) * Limited convenience around pools: * Only two towel stations serving four pool areas - frustrating and an inconvenience * No food, snacks, or ice cream available poolside * Kids’ pool was the coldest pool despite being advertised as heated. * Very limited children’s entertainment: * No daytime pool activities. * Basic mini disco with little effort or production, a 1 person entertainer using their iphone & its outside so on cooler evenings it really doesn’t work well * Strict pool rules prevented children from playing normally; no jumping into the pool, no ball games etc Lifeguards didn’t speak english well and very rudely shouted at us, the fun police as I nick named them. Other guests nearby who observed on two occasions thought the “rules” were ridiculous and unnecessary so it wasn’t just our group. Bearing in mind this was a small soft ball smaller than a tennis ball * Safety concern in the kids’ club due to a broken gate lock that was not repaired or it appears, even noticed it was broke. I advised 2 staff members and neither were aware * Evening entertainment for adults was hit & miss and often brief (9.30-10.30pm) Although marketed as a family-friendly resort, I felt the hotel only met the minimum standard in many areas and was not genuinely geared towards families, with most activities appearing focused on adults. Overall, the stay was enjoyable largely because of the preferred guest offerings, location, beach access, and dining outside the hotel. However, I encountered issues almost every day and felt the hotel failed to deliver the level of service expected for its price point, and I have had smoother, more seamless experiences in even 3-star hotels. I would not return as a family with kids. Either do family friendly 100% or don’t offer it. If I was coming on an adults only visit, I would only stay again if getting the preferred rate at a good price point and for families, honestly there are superior stays elsewhere. I did raise all these items to guest relations as they occurred so not a case of complaining after and not raising in the moment.

Average experience for what is marketed as a 5-star hotel. We booked this as a mini-moon following our wedding, looking for a relaxing getaway on a bed and breakfast basis. Unfortunately, we found ourselves spending around 90% of our time outside of the resort because so many aspects of the hotel felt below the standard we expected. The sunbeds are well past their best; even with a small frame, they sag significantly and become uncomfortable very quickly. There were a handful of friendly and attentive staff members in the Club restaurant at breakfast, but beyond that, service was disappointing. The front-of-house and reception teams often appeared uninterested and unwelcoming. Upon checkout, we weren’t even asked how our stay had been. Despite staying in the hotel’s supposedly premium Club section, we experienced repeated issues with our room, including a toilet that struggled to flush, weak water pressure, and showers that never seemed to get beyond lukewarm. The Club lounge is adequate for light snacks throughout the day. My partner enjoyed the simple ham and cheese sandwiches, but the selection is very limited if you’re looking for anything more substantial or varied. The wraps were consistently soggy, and the coffee machine produced some of the poorest coffee we’ve had during our travels. The hotel’s strongest selling point is undoubtedly its location, providing easy access to both ends of the coastline and beach. Beyond that, however, there was very little that justified either the premium branding or the 5-star rating. Overall, it served as a convenient base for exploring the area, but it was not a hotel we felt compelled to spend time in or one we would choose to return to.

The food needs to be better for it to be 5 star.
