“Super relaxing holiday.”

Good location, friendly and relaxed atmosphere ,lovely airy rooms, v. clean , quiet, the hotel staff were efficient, v friendly and helpful. Good amenities inc. mini golf, tennis,a gym, and indoor swimming pool.

Just returned from our 5th visit and as always it was brilliant. We upgraded to a sea view room for the first time and it was a lovely room. It was spacious and cleaned every day. Loved sitting on the balcony late afternoons. The staff here are always friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast was excellent, lunchtime was good but there were a couple of evenings where we struggled to find much we liked and the desserts weren’t as good as they have been in previous years. The animation staff especially Isa ( she was our favourite member of staff in the whole hotel) were great. The evening entertainment was ok The Beatles were very good. Never had a problem getting a sunbed even in an afternoon. Was a bit surprised to see the rule of men wearing long trousers on an evening had changed but I suppose it’s the norm now a days. We love this hotel because it’s a place to chill and have peace and quiet for adults. Did notice there were a lot more couples in their 40’s which is a good thing. We will be definitely back for our 6th visit very soon. Thanks again for a lovely holiday.

“Needs Refurbishment”

1. Needs a refurbished badly. Seating is only fit for the bin. 2. Anninmation Team need to grow up, same retheric day in day out - its not Ibiza, you dont need to be shouting "lets get drunk" at lunch time. 3. Flooring in main hotel is pure dangerous. Beware of all the white tiles, they might as well be made of ice. 4. Some of the staff are great, some of the staff are their so long they think they are funny and can do and say as they wish. 5. All inclusive is well worth it, but beware you would think that some staff members were giving you a measure from their own bottle, so little was being poured. 6. Lunchtime menu in pool area is absolutely horrendous. Surely you know how bad the burgers etc taste just by the amount left on the plate. Beef burger tastes like warm spam. 7. So many hotels in the area have closed and done complete refurbishments if Timanfaya doesn't keep up with its neighbours then it will loose its position. All in all, hotel needs to stop living by past reputation and get more up to date.

Just returned from a weeks stay here and I have to be honest with my review but would we return? .. probably not. On arrival which was a fairly late one due to the absolute shocking chaos at immigration (obviously not the hotels fault) we were offered a glass of Prosecco/champagne which was thoughtful but neither my husband or I drink this so maybe offer an alternative juice perhaps? The guy that checked us in, sorry I didn’t take his name was friendly enough but his English was poor, we felt because of this he wasn’t able to explain all the facilities etc.. just got handed an A4 sheet with times for breakfast etc. It also wasn’t really explained to us that the wristband that they make you wear.. 1. Is the ‘key’ to your room, which mine struggled to open some days) 2. This has to be shown when buying food/drinks in any of the restaurants bars etc. From experience and visiting many different hotels the staff on the reception should be able to speak better English, he really really struggled. It would have been nice to see a concierge to take the bags to the room especially when you’ve been on a long flight AND struggling to find your room. After we eventually found our room it was ok, bigger than I expected with 2 double beds, but clearly in need of a refurb. The garden view was disappointing it was more of a mound of lava with a few plants, unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of this but on a positive the room was near the pool area so no having to use lifts or having to walk miles down corridors to anywhere. The hotel was kept clean, our room was cleaned everyday with towels changed everyday and the bedding changed once although on our last evening of using the shower the shower gel had been watered down, not quite sure of the point of this? The outside area was pleasant with plenty of sun beds even after lunch but whether that’s because it’s still early in the year can’t really say but they do have a rule of not reserving beds before 9.30am although I did see some people do this. The pools though were absolutely freezing whether again because its early on the year and they haven’t warmed up yet but you couldn’t really use them, think most people managed a paddle, never have I been abroad and not wanted to use the pools, please look into getting one heated maybe?? You are providing something but you can’t really use it. For the money you are paying it also would have been nice to see a couple of staff around the pool areas just to take drink orders, I’m sure a lot of holidaymakers would welcome this, sometimes seeing people having to walk with trays full of drinks. Overall the food wasn’t great I have to be honest. Breakfast was better, food was never really that warm so if you do decide to stay here I would only go B&B. The evening meals didn’t have much variety and in some cases didn’t have any taste, chips were good though but you can’t eat chips all week 😂. We decided to eat out on our last night Asia - Chinese not far from the hotel , can recommend and to be honest was the best meal of the whole week! If you are looking for plenty of pubs restaurants close by this probably isn’t the best hotel for you unless you are prepared to pay for taxis every night but if you prefer to stay in for the entertainment and drinks then it’s ideal. Oh and a last note about the cockroaches we did unfortunately have one in our room and to the manager who will read this it was a cockroach and not a beetle has you had previously informed another reviewer. There was obviously a ‘bug’ problem as a can of bug killer was conveniently left outside our room 😦. It’s apparent that there are many return holidaymakers but sadly we won’t be joining that particular club.
