First visit after recommendations and good reviews, even though some Tripadvisor reviews are a little picky, no hotel is perfect, not all staff speak fluent English, not all staff will smile throughout all their shift, ask yourself if you do when you're at work. They also work very long shifts, so give them a break. If the restaurant is busy that's because a lot of people have gone at the same time, so if you're not happy, next time go earlier or later. The hotel is open throughout the year so any refurbishments would mean noise which most people wouldn't be happy with. The one euro charge to change towels isn't popular but other hotels are now doing the same to try to deter some guests who wastefully change them daily. There are plenty of steps, but that's what lifts are for. It's a hotel on the sea front, so what would you expect, a one level hotel means no sea views. First time ever seen this but at the welcome meeting the general and deputy manager were in attendance, explaining things about the hotel, resort and the island and that if you have any issues to bring them to reception. The staff are amazing and will help if it's possible, our maid used a translator on her phone to speak with us. We visited in March so it was a little cool at times, we requested a heater and blankets which were delivered swiftly, we also had a mattress topper. No need to reserve sun beds, plenty to go around at all times of the day. The large pool was cool as it was March but there is a smaller heated covered pool near the free crazy golf and tennis courts. Pool, table tennis and darts are also available. A large screen tv is in the games room above reception. The animation team are always busy but they won't pester you if you're not interested. All activities are advertised on large screens. The restaurant is busy at times like they all are, the pool bar is open for lunch, but we preferred the restaurant during our 10-night stay. The room was good, had everything you'd need, the general appearance of the hotel is very good. Many returning guests which in my opinion is an excellent recommendation. At reception there were some new staff who were learning the ropes, but they were doing well. We paid a visit to the a la carte restaurant and it was well worth it. Excellent location with a walk to the lighthouse one way and Playa Blanca the other way. So, try to ignore the negativity and enjoy your holiday.

This was our sixth stay at the hotel, and this time we stayed for ten days. It’s an adults‑only property with a mainly older‑couple clientele, and the atmosphere is generally very calm — exactly what we come for. We usually book an early outbound and late return flight to maximise our time, and with a hire car we arrived around midday. As expected, the room wasn’t ready yet; check‑in is clearly stated as from 2pm. It’s worth mentioning because a recent 2‑star review criticised this, even though their room was ready by 3pm, which seems perfectly reasonable. We checked in, dropped our bags, and headed to the pool bar for lunch and a couple of drinks while we waited. We tend to have breakfast and dinner in the main buffet restaurant and lunch at the pool bar. The food is consistently good, with plenty of choice considering the diverse guest mix — some prefer very traditional “meat and two veg,” while we’re a bit more adventurous. The chefs cook fresh bacon, omelettes, eggs, and pancakes to order in the mornings, and they’re back again in the evenings. The longest queue we saw all week was for liver. My wife can’t understand the appeal, but I was also raised on it, so I get it. Plenty of fresh fish, and the the roast pork dishes is excellent (the Spanish do pork very well), and I definitely over‑indulged on the caramel flan! In the evenings we split our time between the two bars depending on the entertainment. Some acts are better than others, but it never bothers us, we do take a few bar games — I just drink my rum and enjoy the night. There are pool tables, darts board etc on level 5 opposite the piano bar. The sunbed situation always amuses us. Most mornings we walk to the lighthouse and back before breakfast, leaving around 7.30am, and the dedicated early‑risers are already out securing their spots. One positive change this year is that no beds can be reserved before 9.30am, and we did see towels being removed, similar to other hotels we visit. There’s also a noticeable surge of people heading to breakfast right after 9.30am. In reality, there are plenty of beds, so the stress seems unnecessary. We couldn’t get a late checkout as our room was needed, but with a 9.30pm flight we still had a full day in the sun. The hotel offers a 30‑minute courtesy room for showering before departure, which we used before leaving around 6.30pm — a really helpful touch. What keeps us coming back, though, is the staff. Credit to the management for creating such a positive culture. The team is genuinely friendly, always laughing and joking with each other and with guests. I won’t single anyone out because I’d inevitably miss someone, but it’s impressive how many of them remember us from year to year — and even what we drink from night to night. You will never go hungry or thirsty here. Despite my best efforts, I only put on a few kilos — probably thanks to the morning walks and wandering around the hotel. Being in our 50s, we’re fine with the steps, and there are plenty of lifts for anyone who needs them. It's quite a wide hotel, and hunkered into the coastline. Ground level (hotel reception) where you get dropped off by coach, taxi etc, is actually level 4. The hotel stopped giving out plastic water bottles a few years ago; they sell metal ones for a few euros, but I just bring my own insulated bottle. Another great holiday, and we’ll be back again next year.

Our third trip, the last one being 2 years ago, did not disappoint, in fact our experience was even better this time. We were worried about the airport experience as it seemed Spanish air traffic control & Lanzarote ground crew were on strike at the same time, and the new EES system, but we sailed through and were at the hotel in no time. I’d emailed ahead to request a room in our preferred area, and while obviously not guaranteed, were delighted to find our allocation was perfect for us. Rooms are spacious and well serviced, bathroom clean and have all the amenities you need. Staff here are the shining stars and it’s a delight to see so many faces still working here, which means the hotel must be a good employer, right? Daniel at the Kasbah made our trip this time, we ate there using our 40% all inclusive discount and this gentleman made us feel like royalty. All the girls in this restaurant too are absolute delights. Enjoyed most days soaking up the rays (still love the long towels that cover the entire sunbed) then lunch, and wine (choices of!) by the bottle in either the buffet or pool bar waiter service. After dinner a choice of entertainment, a show in the ‘disco bar’ or live music in the piano bar with a top shelf branded drink. My only peeve was when we were enjoying a drink and a bite to eat in front of the pool bar, a lady at the next table lit up a cigar (ewww) and the staff actually brought her an ashtray. Now I get this is a tricky area as we were outside, but around the pool area there are smoking stations, and I think it would be prudent for the hotel to discourage smoking in areas were people are eating and drinking. That gripe aside, I absolutely love this hotel and its relaxed vibe, and it’s always on our radar to look to come back.

Just arrived back from a 4 day stay at Timanfaya resort. My girlfriends and i went for a long weekend. Rooms are pleasant and spacious. Hotel located in a quite strip with a short walk to local shops and beaches. Hotel in itself is very peaceful, which made our stay interesting as a group of 14 girls. Drinks and cocktails are plentiful, food was nice, although we had two guests with allergies (one dairy, one gluten) who were very restricted and the staff seemed confused (such as serving butter to dairy free!) Entertainment finished at 11pm each night and the DJ was kind enough to keep the music going until midnight for those who wanted an extra dance. The Tina singer was brilliant, but the set up of the room means that none of the guests want to get up and dance... maybe 1/2 people at a push... although was lovely that we were allowed to, and a couple of others might join after the entertainment finished. The staff were great at looking after us and arranging seating together during dinner, with a smile and a bottle of prosecco in hand for the tables. Overall enjoyable, but I'd say definitely targeted to an 'older' demographic.
