We're currently on the last day of our holiday before returning home tomorrow and bottom line is - We would happily come back again! The hotel is perfect, the moment you walk through to reception passing through the bliss of the church style entrance you're hit with the first 'Wow' on seeing the beautiful waterfall and ceiling! Then to be provided with a glass of champaign and chocolates for the children we knew we had found the right hotel! The hotel is laid out in a village style rather than a very typical 'U' block so you don't feel like everyone is on top of one another. The pools are spread out and we never had a problem in getting a pair of sun loungers. We were delighted and pleasantly surprised to be advised on arrival that our room had been upgraded for free! We are a family of four and had booked a double pool view room, with extra beds for the kids. So we were thrilled to have been upgraded to a suite with a separate room for our children aged 10 and 8. We had also been provided a bottle of fizz and decor as the team were aware it was soon my husbands birthday. A lovely touch! The staff around the pool, bars and breakfast areas are very attentive and do a brilliant job. Particularly the pool bar staff, we spent a lot of time around here and the team were really friendly, even going out of their way to learn English for the words I didn't know in Spanish! We visited the spa pool and sauna too, which was lovely. We were bed and breakfast, chosing to eat out at the restaurants we already knew of in the marina for dinner. Breakfast was good with a wide variety of choice which was very helpful for one of our children who is particularly fussy. We stayed the week after main stream half term had returned to school so I anticipate it gets busier in the holiday's. However, it appears the hotel typically attracts couples, however, there were other families with children also. The children were able to play in the pool with other kids and not disturb those in the bathing area. There is plenty of bathing spaces if you want to lay in more secluded area. The table tennis was a firm favourite with our son. The only thing I would say is surfaces are very slippy, so pool side make sure to have your flip flops and take care in the bathrooms. Our daughter slipped getting in the shower and landed on the concrete step which resulted in a nasty bruise - but thankfully, not a cracked rib which we throught it may have been! The hotel did provide some lovely welcome boxes for the children, which included some non-slip socks for use in the rooms.... maybe a mat for the showers or re-designing the concrete step might be good. This is not a big hustle and bustle all inclusive resort. You won't find loud guests shouting or causing a scene here. One of the reason we booked and so glad we did. Overall, a brilliant stay and we would come back again in a heartbeat. Thank you to the whole team for a lovely stay!

“Exceptional Hotel”

What a beautiful hotel our stay at the Volcan (myself and my adult daughter) was truly exceptional. Five star in every sense of the word - staff were wonderful really helpful and friendly . Nothing was any trouble. Club Volcan was a wonderful experience that I would definitely book again. Adults only, a gorgeous roof top pool area with 2 jacuzzi’s and a pool bar with lovely food if you wanted lunch, but to be honest the breakfast was excellent, with a hot food menu that was cooked to order, so we really didn’t need lunch. Afternoon tea and an open bar from 1830 until 2:00 hours were also included. Room was lovely with Rituals toiletries. We loved staying here felt truly relaxed and spoilt and can’t wait to return. In March my husband and I paid our second visit staying in the adult section on a bed and breakfast basis. We find this hotel exceptional. We were given a warm welcome at reception and a porter took our cases to our room. The rooms are large with a sitting area and ours had a balcony with a view of the marina. All staff were friendly and efficient and the whole hotel was very clean. Special thanks to the dining room team who provided a friendly and efficient service. At breakfast there is a self service buffet of cereal, nuts, fruit, cheese, meat and bread etc. followed by an a la carte cooked breakfast served by Nina, Angie, Raquel and Cori who were always so friendly and sang Happy Birthday to me on my birthday. My favourite breakfast was mozarella cheese, tomato and rocket omelette, which the chefs cooked beautifully. I have since made this omelette at home but it's not the same! Afternoon tea was also good and my vegetarian diet was catered for. In the evening between 6.30- 8.00 was a self service bar which was quickly replenished by the very efficient lady when supplies dwindled. A saxophonist played weekly which we enjoyed. Well done everyone, we look forward to returning. And thank you to the hotel for my birthday gifts which my my day more special.

Nice hotel, great location. But for me this is not a five star hotel, the room was dated and floor tiles in the room had seen better days, and the bathroom was very outdated. We had a garden view, and you could see not much care and attention took place, lots of weeds. The breakfast was nice nothin… more

Nice hotel, great location. But for me this is not a five star hotel, the room was dated and floor tiles in the room had seen better days, and the bathroom was very outdated. We had a garden view, and you could see not much care and attention took place, lots of weeds. The breakfast was nice nothing out of the ordinary. But I did notice that glasses (plastic) could sit for days at the pool area. You didn’t see any staff about tidying or clearing up. The pool was freezing, felt too much like an ice bath. So didn’t end up using it, due to how cold it was. We used the showers located in the toilets next to the spa on our last day. I had to use the men’s bathroom due to the ladies all being used. Showers ok, but no separate space to keep your change of clothes dry. The gate to get in and out would go all day and wasn’t great when sunbathing due to the noise, a soft close would be really good. Was also a bit pointless as you could just jump over the wall. Overall Playa Blanca is lovely, and I plan to come back again later in the year. But just not to this hotel.
