This hotel is aimed at families and older couples It has lovely pools and views of the sea . Being right by the beach is an added bonus. The rooms are abit tired but adequate for a 4 star. The reason this hotel doesn’t get a 5 star rating from me is the day time entertainment. The music is AWFUL, it’s unbearably loud and more suited to an age 20 club audience. It’s like being in at a club instead of a family hotel. Please Turn the volume down and put something abit more relaxing on . We’re on holiday with young children not at a 20s rave !!!!!!

“Zak”

restaurant food could be improved due to limited opinions but Zak from entertainment was a sensational asset to the entire experience, he is extremely friendly and makes everyone's day better.

We have stayed through Jet2 holiday package during May 26. The hotel is situated in decent location, and has nice views over the coastline. The room was spacious and decently equipped. While checking in we were sold a safe key...which wasn't necessary to operate it. The directions drawn on hotel map to our room were wrong and confusing. The room service was good, and we had nice balcony overviewing the pool. Despite that it wasn't noisy in the evenings. The only flaw was that the sinks were clogging. Hotel is clearly understaffed, which impacts overall cleanliness, state of maintenance and ability to assist customers. There were kids playing with lifts non stop and at some point they stopped working properly. The entertainment package has not been great and fell short compared to other large hotels we have visited in Greece and Turkiye. We have mostly seen two people handling morning, afternoon, and evening entertainment. They did what they could, but it evening/adult entertainment was frankly boring and repetitive. It's a double edged sword that all activities happen inside the building. Weather and wind can't disrupt it, but the acoustics were horrible. Activities in the pools were good and kids had lots of fun, ie waterpolo, foam party or inflatables. The hotel has a rule people can't reserve sunbeds before 9am, which was helpful. There are enough sunbeds and choice of pools to everyone's liking. The food was OK at most, it was not always fresh, and it has failed to impressed both me and my wife. Choice of desserts was poor. If you are english cuisine lover you will enjoy it... We have rented a car for two days, ot was quick and easy to arrange and overall affordable. Jet2 warned us of pool tiles works happening during our stay, but it wasn't too disruptive. To summarise it's a decent 3 star hotel, but average 4 star hotel (which is how it's sold to us).

We’ve just returned from a stay at Sandos Papagayo and overall came away with mixed feelings, especially considering the cost of the holiday. First impressions were good. The reception area is lovely and check-in was quick and straightforward. One thing that did stand out straight away though was the lifts. They felt quite wobbly and not particularly reassuring to use. We even saw a child in tears because they were too scared to get in one from using the lift previously. We paid extra for the Royal Elite package, which gave us access to the Royal Elite Terrace and Royal Elite Restaurant. The restaurant was excellent and one of the highlights of the holiday. There was plenty of choice every day, the food was consistently good and the staff were fantastic. Plates were cleared quickly and everyone was friendly and attentive. The Royal Elite Terrace was a little bit of a let-down. It was nice being able to help yourself to drinks, but it lacked atmosphere. The music wasn’t great, there was a lack of variation in the drinks available (could be more varied day-to-day) and there was nobody there to make cocktails like in the other bar. The snack selection was also very limited. Some crisps, better pastries and a few more options would make a big difference. During the day it was far too hot as there was very little shade and in the evenings it became quite chilly. A few heaters would be appreciated. The views from the terrace were lovely however. Our room (B513) was probably the biggest issue. The noise from the lift could be heard constantly and made it difficult to sleep before midnight and after 7am. The room doors also have a large gap underneath them, meaning every conversation and noise from the corridor seemed to travel straight into the room. Some signs reminding guests to keep noise down would help. The room itself felt tired. The bathroom is quite dated and could have felt cleaner, a walk-in shower would be a much more modern option. The floor in the room had lots of scratches and scuffs and while having two sinks was great, the room overall didn’t feel as though it had been updated for a long time. The pillows were also quite odd – one small pillow and one long pillow. We appreciated being given slippers because the floor felt quite sticky at times. The dressing gowns also felt very worn and rough, as though they’d been washed hundreds of times. The air conditioning wasn’t particularly effective either. Another issue was the sunbed umbrellas. Ours was broken and despite the weighted base, umbrellas were falling over in the wind. This feels like something that should be checked more regularly as it could easily cause an injury. I do want to say thank you to the staff, who work incredibly hard and were always friendly and helpful throughout our stay. For us, the overall experience didn’t match the price we paid. There are lots of small things that could be improved and, if they were, they would make a big difference. Sadly, as it stands, the hotel felt more like a 3-star experience than a 4-star one.
