I would like to start by thanking those who gave this hotel bad reviews. It prepared me for the worst and so I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. Yes, it’s located in the quiet resort of Playa del Cura and doesn’t have an entertainment package. But then, a quick google search and you’d know that. We booked a two bedroom suite on the 6th floor which had two decent sized rooms, one with an en suite, a large living area and decent sized kitchen (with most kitchen appliances). Seems the smaller rooms don’t have this. There was aircon in each room. It also came with a huge terrace that had sliding doors from the kitchen, lounge and front bedroom with the most amazing sea views. I believe every apartment has these seas views. The pool was nice with the bar next to it, serving food and drinks. Yes, some bits of the decked flooring needed some repair but not hazardous in any way. There were plenty of loungers around the pool and all around the front area, again with those views. On two occasions, we booked the Bali bed area which was down a half level from the pool area, providing a private space with large Bali bed and loungers. Oh, and it comes with a bottle of cava chucked in, all for €15 with access from 10am-6pm. We didn’t use the free gym or the spa which comes with a variety of pamper packages at an additional cost. There’s also the bridge/elevator which gives direct access to the lovely beach. We didn’t eat at the hotel, preferring to sample the small number of restaurants (also a Spar and two bars) just a couple of hundred yards downhill, as well as the Kala beach bar. For those wanting to escape the quiet resort, there is a good bus service and taxi rank (or use the PideTaxi app) that can take you to the more bustling Puerto Rico 10 minutes on one side or up to the beautifully quaint Puerto de Mogan (€1,40 bus, €8-12 taxi) All in all, a pretty decent - better than 3 stars - hotel for those who want to relax and enjoy fantastic views. Not one for the stags, hens or high energy families.

This is a lovely, quiet, clean, friendly, roomy and well equipped hotel. Pros. Very clean and bright. Modern. Air conditioning, beautiful pool area. Friendly staff. Good pool bar food. Cons. No hob in our room, so no real self catering, there are rooms with hobs so probably best to ask. Pool bar hours too short. Food 12-30-4pm. Breakfast food not a great standard. If you’re looking for British or Irish breakfast you’d have to go elsewhere. Overall a brilliant 2 weeks and my cons are very nitpicking.

I had a great time at this hotel. The seaview suites have stunning views of the ocean and the staff are friendly and helpful. As a winter sun option 4hrs from the UK I would definitely recommend going here. I noted some comments previously about the hotel being dirty, I did not experience this at all. So in summary the positives: Wonderful sweeping sea views The bridge/lift direct to the beach (dark sand and often waves) The breakfasts - good selection and plenty of room, nice coffee and fruit drinks Staff- friendly and helpful, we had one minor electrical issue in the room that was fixed almost immediately. Pool - clean clear water and never really busy, just enough sunloungers. Snack bar with drinks next to pool. Easy access to restaurants and a very well stocked Spar, just down the road. Loads to do in the area - boat trips/ canyons/ pine forests, mountains/ wildlife. With a car there is so much you can see and do. The not so positives: The health and safety angle - there was damaged and in my view potentially dangerous erosion of the decking style wooden planks around the property and the pool. I did mention this to a staff member for the worst section and no action was taken (this was by the pool in a section not cordoned off). For people with disabilities it is manageable with care but it really needs fixing. For people with a lot of luggage - there should be one trolley that would fit in the lift to take suitcases etc, we had to do multiple trips. Parking is pot luck - quite a busy car park outside so you might have to park down the road. The evening buffet was poor and expensive. I only went once during our whole stay. This seemed odd as the breakfast is good. If it was better we would have eaten there for sure.
