Wow what a holiday! From first arrival, all through our stay. The reception was welcoming, you were given refreshments and could use the facilities straight away from arrival before the room was ready. Food was well thought out, a fantastic mix, fresh and full of flavour. The rooms are so special, decoration is exceptional and it felt very special. The staff are super friendly, fun, they remember you and make your stay truly special. Highly recommend!

“Route 66: Wonderful stuff”

We're roughly 1 week into our 2 week stay, and although the food is generally fantastic, R66 has been the standout so far. The beef skirt and mash was exceptional and the salmon was unreal. The side of veggies was generous and easily enough for 2. We have stayed in Tenerife all inclusives before (in the same clutch of nearby hotels) but H10 is leagues above, and R66 is one if the reasons why; it doesn't feel like conveyor belt or mass service food, because it isn't - it is food to order and it shows. Our waiter, Rochdi was attentive at just the right times, we felt looked after and our service pacing was exemplary, without being overbearing. 10/10

“Holiday”

Tenerife is a beautiful destination, but this hotel truly made our holiday complete. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, the excellent service, and the wonderful ambiance. It is a place we will look back on with great pleasure and would definitely recommend to others!

We came here for May half term with the children and just did the standard half board option. Overall I really liked the hotel and I would come back, but only once the issues with Tenerife airport are resolved and the children are old enough not to mind the salt water swimming pools. The hotel appears clean, fresh and well maintained save for a few tiling issues. They even have a couple of hoover robots which the children were enthralled by. The hotel provided a couple of bottles of water on arrival which was amazing as we arrived quite late and some extras I wasn’t expecting like chocolates, dressing gowns and slippers. I don’t really understand the point of checking in online and scanning passports as we had to do it all over again when we got there. The only freshwater pools we had access to were the splash/ slide area and the small family pool. The two larger pools are salt water which the children didn’t enjoy and weren’t interested in. Given the popularity of the small freshwater family swimming pool there were difficulties getting a sunbed around it. Half way through the week the staff began folding up towels on reserved sunbeds but this didn’t address the issue of there not being enough and resulted in arguments and other tactics being deployed such as fathers keeping watching presence until the official pool opening time. The salt water pools always had sunbed availability but there is no way of watching the children from these pools as they are far apart, on different levels with vegetation in between. The hotel should change a salt water pool for fresh water to resolve the issue of the overcrowding of the family pool. Although my children refused to go the children’s club, the animation/ entertainment team were great and hosted a number of activities throughout the week which were enjoyed. The children also enjoyed staying up for the children’s disco (8.30pm-9pm) and evening show (9pm-9.45pm) although this was a bit late for my liking. We didn’t experience any noise from the hotel being renovated across the way. The Hardrock hotel had a gig one night which was loud but it ended by 11pm. The most noise at night came from the pressure washing of the tiles and sunbeds around the pool and the noise of inconsiderate guests on the stair well. The external balcony light is automated. We spent most of the week without light as reception had said they were automated but didn’t know the times. It actually turned out a new light bulb was all that was required! The buffet was mostly very good although it got quite chaotic at times and I did have buffet fatigue by the end of the week. In hindsight we should have mixed things up by going out one night. Water, juice, tea, coffee and cava are free at breakfast. At dinner a small water was €3 and a bottle of wine about €25. Our dinner drinks with the children on just water came to €100 for the week. The puddings aren’t great although i got the impression they sometimes put out leftovers from the better restaurants so these are worth getting whilst they are an available. There was some poor supervision of children at buffet and people eating whilst they were going around which the staff turned a blind eye to, and also some mislabelling or non labelling of food but the staff were generally very good, happy to answer questions and responsive. It’s the first time we’ve had to book a slot to eat at a buffet and we did have to keep pushing back times which was a faff but wasn’t too bad. I’m not sure my parents would have been able to manage the online booking process though. The hotel has an underground car park for €6 a day which is a life saver. If you go out of the bottom gate there is also a nice ice cream shop right there. The hotel is about 12 minutes walk to the main high street or 8 minutes drive from a supermarket. We went down to the beach next to the hotel one day but it wasn’t great and there are much better ones about. Other day trips we enjoyed were Siam Park and respectful whale watching with Vision Submarine from Los Cristianos.
