Just checked out from my stay at Las Gaviotas in Matagorda. I've had a fantastic stay and really enjoyed my experience. Everything from contacting the staff via email to booking direct with them was simple and easy. The apartments (Block 8) are lovely and spacious and have great access to the pool, with all the self catering facilities you need. I would like to say a big thank you to Natasha and the team here at Las Gaviotas.. I will definitely be returning, Gracias, hasta pronto.

“Good value accommodation in a great area”

Good value accommodation. We was in block 7, room 20. Needs a little tlc but apart from that everything else was gr8. Good size living/ kitchen area. Good value accommodation. We was in block 7, room 20. Needs a little tlc but apart from that everything else was gr8. Good size living/ kitchen area. Basically equipped for self catering ( we ate out all the time) Nice little fridge, cooking utensils, cups, plates ect. Little outside area to put your swimwear out to dry. Front veranda facing the street with table, chairs and 2 x sunbeds. Good sized bathroom with a really good shower. The air con was included with the price we paid with a humidifier in the bedroom also. Extra was the safe at 2.50e a day with a 10e deposit that you got back on the day you leave alongside the receipt ( so be sure to keep hold of that) The safe we had, the key was abit stuff in opening and locking but with care it could be used okay. We knew we would be in one of the older properties in block 7 or 8 when we booked so we expected this and this was reflected in the price we paid. It's ready for a repaint and refurb. All of the blocks have pools. Our room had a street view which was fine. If we wanted use of the pool, it was literally a 2 min walk. But we're beach lovers so that's were we went most days apart from the trip we did whilst there. The bedding and towels were a little worse for wear ( the duvet cover clean but had marks on it and a hole in the cover & the towels the same. You could tell they had been used many times, weather worn as they say lol) In the bedroom there was only 1 socket ( luckily I always bring a small extension lead with me) Once you find your bearings and have a little walk about, its less than a 10 minute walk to the beach. . Lots of bars, restaurants, tourists shops all within easy walking distance. We visted Hidden Gem and the Aussie bar for breakfast. Excellent value for money, kept us full all day until we had our evening meal. Lots of good restaurants, all good meals The Farm x 3 Mumbai Masala Jameos Indian x1 Pride of India x 1 Sirocco Restaurant x1 ( wine expensive here compared to the other restaurants 26 e for a house red, whereas all the other places we ate a bottle of red average 13e, smaller portion size for the meals as well but they were very tasty and well presented) Our most expensive meal. Fui Gui x 2 Aussies beach bar x 6 (breakfast) Hidden Gem x 2 ( breakfast) O' Shea's Irish Restaurant x 2 for lunch + 1 dinner The Guinness Tavern - for drinks most days after being on the beach. We had a evening meal there 1 night. Sadly to say it was not good. My partner had ribs and I had a chicken burger ( limted menu but as we enjoyed our visits for a drinks, we thought we'd try the restaurant) Both were dire and definitely not worth another visit. Grant it that they were rushed off there feet that night with not enough staff serving the bar and restaurant side, so it may have been just a bad day for them. SGT Peppers Bar ( upstairs in the little shopping centre) for drinks,excellent value for money, great manager, fantastic atmosphere!! We only did one trip whilst there, the submarine booked directly through Submarine Safaris ( we visited Lanzarote Costa Teguise last year for 2wks and did alot of trips then, all the trips worth doing we did) Enjoyable trip and something we had never done before. We would definitely stay at Livvo apartments again for sure. Good value for money. We like to be up & out by 9am ish, back to the accommodation by 7pm, out again 8pm ish, home 1am ish & repeat so for us, its a place to sleep, shower and make a cuppa tea. Perfect 👍 Pay that little extra if you want the more luxurious accommodations that they have. Iv had added a few pics. Brilliant location, lovely apartment, comfy sofa and beds, air con in bedroom, large walk in shower, all brilliant. Brilliant location, lovely apartment, comfy sofa and beds, air con in bedroom, large walk in shower, all brilliant. WiFi is a bit hit and miss, TV has British stations 1 to 4 Checked out today after a 10 night stay and had a lovely break, things that I would improve, parasols for every apartment, there are sun loungers but no shade and it was very hot and sunny, south facing looking over the pool, which was warm also. Was told at checkout that we could have hired a parasol if we had asked, so bear this in mind when you stay here! Other than that, no complaints, remember to bring pool towels as these are not supplied.

We had a nice stay overall, but there were a few issues that mean we probably wouldn’t return. On the positive side, the apartment had a lot going for it. The bed was very comfortable, the bedroom air conditioning worked well, and the bathroom was modern and clean. We appreciated the regular room cleaning, although sometimes only certain areas seemed to be cleaned. It was also great to have an area outside to hang clothes and towels to dry. The pool area was clean, well maintained, and felt very safe, especially for families with children. Unfortunately, there were several issues that affected our stay. We had a problem with ants in both the kitchen and outdoor areas throughout our visit. The biggest issue was the hot water – after around four minutes, the shower would turn cold. This was particularly frustrating after a day by the pool, as it meant that once the children had showered, my husband and I were left having cold showers every day. Another issue was the unpleasant smell coming from the drains in both the bathroom and the smaller outdoor area every morning, which made those areas less enjoyable to use. We also felt the facilities could be improved. An on-site washing machine would make a big difference for families staying for longer periods, and we were surprised there was no oven or toaster in the apartment. The rooms have a TV although ours might as well not have had one, the reception was so poor you couldn’t watch a thing (I know not a major when on holiday however not idea when the World Cup is on!) Overall, we enjoyed parts of our stay and there are certainly positives. However, the issues with the hot water, drainage smell and limited facilities mean we would probably choose to stay elsewhere next time.
