We stayed here as a couple on 15th of June for 10 nights. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly member of staff,was allocated a great apartment on the top floor as requested, had two balconies, one over looking the pool and a smaller one in bedroom with a sea view ,couldn't fault the apartment at all ,loads of storage ,all we needed in the kitchen area although we mostly ate out ,nice big corner sofa that I'd have taken home if I could 😀, house keeping came every day to change bins,towels,toilet rolls and a couple of times to sweep through and made beds although they never actually changed the bedding itself wich is why no five star but we didn't fuss as we only slept on the top in our own cooling blankets anyway. Pool area is nice ,pool spottless, yes there were people who claimed beds nights before use like iv witnessed at many places but we used pool area around 4pm and always got a bed plus there were always some stacked up spare anyway.. Pool Bar is fair priced we only used it twice for drinks didn't use the inside bar at all as we were meeting family staying elsewhere for evening out.overall we were super happy with out stay ,we have been to Puerto del carmen twice before this and stayed elsewhere, if we return to lanzarote we will definitely opt to stay at plaza azul now

“Decent location but a bit of a let down”

Sunbed situation is ridiculous. People are allowed to leave towels on beds overnight whilst other towels are removed by staff/guests. The rooms are tired and in need of a good paint/refurb. Sunbed situation is ridiculous. People are allowed to leave towels on beds overnight whilst other towels are removed by staff/guests. The rooms are tired and in need of a good paint/refurb. It's a shame because the cleaning staff are lovely and do the best with what they have and I must admit the rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable. Massive issues with the reception staff. I emailed to ask for 3 rooms together, which we didn't get. I also asked if they hired beach towels, which they said they did. They don't..... They sell beach towels at an inflated price. For our last day we were told we may be able to keep the room on. At 8am on the day we were asked to come back at 9.30am at which point we were told the hotel was full. Just seemed like we were being fobbed off. How does a hotel full up within an hour and a half. Whilst we were there the police attended due to a domestic dispute. I realise the hotel cannot legislate for the calibre of guests they attract, but all in all it was not a great experience to deal with when you are supposed to be relaxing with a family and friends. Since returning my son and daughter have had really bad coughs which I suspect may be down to the pool. The final nail in the coffin was the transfer back to the airport that the receptionist arranged and it cost €35 more than the journey to the hotel. Please avoid asking them to book return journeys in advance for you. Get them to call a taxi 10 mins before. Having visited Puerto del Carmen many times before I'd say the location is decent, really convenient for the night life, shops and bars but you can probably get a better property equivalent in price..... next time I will do more research. Didn't stop us having a good time but not without it's frustrations.

“Selfish sunbed holiday makers”

Good location, easy access to main strip. Apartment clean but very basic, everything extra comes at a cost. TV- need to rent remote, safe- need to pay for a key, no air con- pay for fan hire, no hairdrier- hire it, everything available but at a cost. Lovely pool area, nice big pool, clean + lovely pool bar. Sunbed situation is appaling, towels put on sunbeds at start of hol and removed at end of hol. Here at mo + there approx 50-60 beds with at least 30 empty with towels on. Watched family(using 5 beds) leave 10am this morn, still not back but beds waiting for them with towels on,in fact there is a row of 15 beds with towels on that have not been used today. So disappointing, staff + management do nothing even though there a signs to not reserve beds????? Sort out sunbed problem + this is a lovely base point to stay
