We recently stayed at Blue Sea Playa Club for 6 nights and overall had a lovely holiday. The location is excellent, with bars, restaurants, shops and the beach all within a short walking distance, making it a very convenient place to stay. The reception staff were always friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Our apartment was spacious and clean, and the air conditioning was amazing, which was absolutely essential during the intense heat. The towels were changed twice during our stay, and the apartment was cleaned, although the bed linen wasn't changed during the 6 nights. We only ate once at the pool bar and found the food quite basic but is handy for drinks. However, the outdoor food bar just outside the complex served very tasty pizza. This is definitely a very family-orientated complex, which is great if you're travelling with children. However, we felt the main swimming pool was simply too small for the number of guests staying here. With babies, toddlers, older children, teenagers, and adults all using the same pool throughout the day, it often became extremely crowded and chaotic. The lifeguard has a difficult job trying to keep everyone safe and maintain order in such a busy pool. However, we did find one particular lifeguard to be quite grumpy and abrupt at times. Another issue was the lack of shade around the main pool. There were only around three umbrellas available, which was nowhere near enough for the number of sunbeds. During the intense heat, more parasols are badly needed. We noticed several guests had bought and used their own umbrellas because there simply wasn't enough shade provided. There are secure umbrellas at the baby pool, but not enough. Be prepared for the usual sunbed (wars) rush each morning as the beds are chained in the evening and are unchained after the pool and surrounding area is cleaned in the morning between 9am and 10am but people are waiting by 8- 8.30am for beds, the umbrellas are also claimed by towels being pegged to them. Unfortunately, there also seemed to be a "sunbed police" culture, with guests watching each other in relation to sunbeds, which didn't create the most relaxing atmosphere around the pool. One thing we found confusing was that guests staying in the poolside apartments were keeping sunbeds on their private patios overnight. As these sunbeds were not collected or chained up in the evenings, we assumed this was acceptable and did the same when we arrived. However, we were later reported, despite following what appeared to be the normal practice. A clearer and more consistent policy for all guests would help avoid misunderstandings and make things feel fairer. Overall, we had a pleasant stay thanks to the fantastic location, friendly staff, and comfortable apartment. If you're looking for a lively, family-focused resort close to everything, this is a good choice. If you prefer a quieter, more relaxed pool area, it may not be the best fit.

We recently stayed at Blue Sea Playa Club Apartments in Lanzarote and overall had a Good holiday. The location is absolutely amazing – you couldn’t ask for a better spot. The apartments were perfectly fine, clean and comfortable, and housekeeping came every second day, which we were happy with. The air conditioning in the rooms was absolutely amazing too. As long as you keep the doors and windows closed during the day to trap the cool air inside, the rooms stay lovely and cool, even in the heat. We also had no issues with bugs in our room during our stay, although we didn’t have the windows open as the air conditioning was more than enough for us. Reception staff were always friendly, welcoming and helpful. There is also a supermarket right beside the complex, which was amazing and very convenient for snacks, drinks and essentials. The pool was cleaned every morning, which was great. By the evenings there was often quite a bit of litter and dirt around the pool area, but this was due to inconsiderate guests rather than the staff. One thing we did notice was that the pool itself is quite small for the number of guests staying at the apartments, so it can feel very crowded, especially during peak times. The only staff member we had a negative experience with was one lifeguard who was there for a day or two. He was unnecessarily rude, including speaking harshly to a mother with her autistic son, and was constantly telling children off for jumping into the pool and simply having fun. It really affected the atmosphere around the pool while he was there. The biggest issue, however, was the “sunbed wars.” From around 8:30 every morning, people were waiting around for the sunbeds to be unchained, but the time this happened was very unpredictable. Some mornings it was around 9:00, while other mornings it wasn’t until closer to 10:00. It was frustrating having to get up so early every day on holiday just to have a chance of getting a sunbed, as if you didn’t, there was little to no chance of getting one later. People were also reserving sunbeds and especially umbrellas as soon as they became available, meaning families with young children and babies often had no shade. It became such a problem that some guests ended up buying their own umbrellas just to protect their children from the sun. We also noticed people taking sunbeds back to their balconies or even into their apartments, leaving fewer available for everyone else. The hotel would really benefit from providing more sunbeds and, most importantly, a lot more umbrellas around the pool to ensure everyone has access to shade. Considering how many people stay at the apartments, increasing the number of shaded areas would make a huge difference to guests’ comfort. We had a lovley experience with the bar outside the complex lovley staff nice food and nice drinks, the one inside the complex is more so just useful for a drink a slushy or an icecream we weren’t really to pleased with the food inside there. The noise level didn’t bother us at all because we are all there to enjoy ourselves at the end of the day. I would say this complex is quite good for value for money it does offer everything you need and as said unbelievable location. The atmosphere was mostly good there was a few rude people around but it was amazing to see people enjoying themselves with there families of all ages and having a great holiday in high spirits. Overall, despite the issues with the pool area and the lifeguard, we had a very enjoyable stay thanks to the fantastic location, friendly reception staff, excellent air conditioning, convenient on-site supermarket, clean apartments and good housekeeping. With a few improvements to the pool facilities and better management of the sunbeds and umbrellas, this would be an even better place to stay.

I’ll start with the bad points, the umbrella provision around the pool is severely lacking! If you need an umbrella be prepared to get to the pool by 8:30 or they will all be gone as there are no more than 4 moveable umbrellas around the direct pool area, and then 4 fixed umbrellas in an area away from the pool, which is too far from the pool to supervise children adequately. The shop outside of the complex did a roaring trade with people purchasing their own umbrellas to use, tying them on to the sun loungers. The sun loungers are chained up most days until just before 10am (although this is not consistent, some days they are unlocked by 9am). Good points are spacious rooms, free air conditioning (which is much needed for a cool off and time out of the sun if you haven’t secured an umbrella, especially the children) comfortable beds in the bedroom (beware of the sofa beds, ours collapsed in the middle every night), free use of a safe in your room, plenty of hanging space, good location on the strip) , hyperdino shop just outside Would I return again? Only If the availablity to access much needed shade at pool area was improved as the early rising and hanging around for an umbrella each morning took its toll

2nd time here and a completely different experience this time. Our apt was up the back actually beside residents I assume. The apt was clean but really dated. other ones had card keys, new doors and windows, we still had the old key wooden doors with a gap underneath for cockroaches which we had a few of over our trip probably due to having the bins from the restaurants and bars over the wall. Also glass bin collecting every morning doesn’t help your sleep. The pool lounger situation is a complete disaster it went from towels out all night to get up early for a bed to beds being locked. Previously it was if you got up early and stayed with your beds then ok which everyone knew so was ok. Poolside also quite slippery when wet. Location is ideal but not sure it’s worth the hassle of the pool area especially if you want a relaxing poolsides holiday
