This is a review by a couple in our 30s. We were a little worried before going that we would feel a bit out of place as appeared the rest of the visitors were older. This isn’t the case. Yes there’s a lot of older people there and Saga do like to take over a bit but if you’re up for a laugh so are they. Transfer - was hell (nothing to do with the hotel) but if you are jet2 just get a taxi. It took forever to get to the hotel. Room - incredibly nice and modern. The bathroom in particular was impressive. We had a ground floor garden room and the sunbeds outside were a nice touch. I requested a pool view and we were in a great spot. Prestige - we went prestige. For us it was worth it as we took advantage of what was available. The wine menu in the restaurant was enough to make it worth it for us as I am a wine snob and the AI normal wine was awful. The prestige lounge was nice. Spa - a good addition. We went a couple of times and also had a massage which was very good. Entertainment - the staff work really hard. They are running around like crazy at the bars and restaurants and all with a smile on their faces. We enjoyed the shows, 9:15 could be a bit late for mini disco but as we had no kids with us it made no difference to us. The show starts at 10 and goes on for about an hour. Again could be longer but we quite liked that there was no rush to go for tea on an evening. Food- the restaurant was hit and miss. Even in the prestige bit sometimes it was chaos. We did like the food though and thought it varied enough. We would definitely return

“Great hotel”

Stayed here a week and found this hotel lovely and very deserving of its 4 star rating. Rooms modern and roomy and cleaned everyday. One 2 hr visit to the spa which was lovely. Stayed here a week and found this hotel lovely and very deserving of its 4 star rating. Rooms modern and roomy and cleaned everyday. One 2 hr visit to the spa which was lovely. Entertainment every other night in the piano bar was classy, with varied entertainment every night in the other big room. Plenty of choice food wise and found the little touches such as Bloody Marys at breakfast and a real honeycomb dripping into a bowl very nice. Staff on the whole were great and pleasant with the one exception one evening in the restaurant when our attempts to get attention were ignored. The hotel put on a free shuttle bus on 3 times a day to Puerto del Carmen and there’s a great little market down at the marina twice a week. The resort itself is quite quiet but upmarket with some lovely bars and restaurants on the front which is only a 5 min walk away but a bit tough for anyone with mobility issues coming back up the hill to the hotel. The lower pool looks a little tired with some tiles missing but we always stayed by the upper pool near the restaurant and there were plenty of summers whatever the time of day. Great hotel and I would definitely consider returning.

We stayed 10 nights here and had a fab holiday! The hotel is a lovely location with beautiful views of the harbour. The area is very quiet however it’s only a short taxi ride to Puerto Del Carmen which is a lot more lively & busy. There are some lovely restaurants along the harbour to visit which is a 5 minute walk down hill. The hotel was modern & cleaned everyday. We had a first floor room with a terrace which has a sun lounger. We had one free spa access included with our stay which we enjoyed. Staff were lovely. Would recommend staying here as hotel is lovely however if you’re looking for something more lively this is not the hotel for you.

We had a fantastic 7-night stay at Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa and overall it was a really enjoyable holiday. The hotel offers excellent value for money, especially with the all-inclusive package. Having branded alcohol and bottles of wine included was a great touch and made the experience feel much more premium compared to many other all-inclusive hotels. The rooms were extremely clean and well maintained throughout our stay. A lot of credit has to go to the housekeeping team for keeping everything to such a high standard. The staff across the hotel were one of the biggest positives — everyone we interacted with was friendly, polite and helpful. The reception team were especially welcoming and always happy to assist, and the restaurant staff worked hard while still being attentive and friendly. The free shuttle bus into Puerto del Carmen was also a great addition and a really useful service that added extra value to the stay. The food was a good standard overall with a fairly wide buffet selection. There were the usual breakfast and dinner staples each day, with some changes to the meat and hot food options throughout the week. The Chinese evening was particularly good. One suggestion for improvement would be to introduce more clearly planned themed nights, perhaps with a dedicated station for each theme. This would allow guests to know what is coming up and decide whether they want to dine at the hotel or explore restaurants elsewhere. There are a few areas where I think the hotel could improve. The afternoon snack bar between lunch and dinner was quite limited, with the same options appearing each day. Expanding the variety here would make the all-inclusive offering feel even stronger. The pool bar (Jameo) also felt slightly underused, as it was not staffed in the morning before lunch, which meant it was not always available when guests were around the pool (which many guests didn't realise as their is no sign near the bar and we saw many people wait there for a while before staff turned them away). At La Magdalena restaurant, one small thing I noticed was the table system. After guests finished their meals, tables were cleared but not reset for more guests to sit there, meaning guests arriving later sometimes had fewer choices of where to sit. We also got asked to move if we ever sat at these tables. This is not a major problem but it would've been nice to be able to sit anywhere. The entertainment team were friendly and brought a positive atmosphere to the hotel. In particular, Monica and Martina were incredibly welcoming, approachable and clearly made an effort to engage with guests. It would have been great to see them involved even more in the evening entertainment shows, as they had a lot of energy and would have been a great addition. During our 7-night stay, the entertainment team only performed twice in the evening, and the shows were mainly dancing/lip syncing rather than singing, so adding more variety or more frequent performances could really enhance the evening experience. However some of the external evening entertainment hired to perform were really good - particularly The Gentlemen of the Road band. Overall, we had a really enjoyable holiday and would definitely consider returning. The cleanliness, value of the all-inclusive package, location, and especially the staff made this a memorable stay. With a few small improvements, this hotel could be even better.
