From arrival to departure it was fabulous. Welcoming, bright and clean. Layout of hotel is very nice with a central indoor garden, it was lovely. The Rooms are very large with big beds and bathroom. We chose bed and breakfast which was beautiful. The drinks at the bar surprisingly cheap and entertainment was varied and always really good. The snack bar was a little small in choices but we all tried all of it, tasty!! Big shout out to Bienvinedo from the bar and Ismael from the entertainment staff, he was always happy to chat and his music and pool games were so good, thank you. We have stayed at The Floresta and Costa Sal, not near the class of La Geria!! Best of all the hotel is right at the beach, perfect location. We will be back

Just finished a 9 night stay with 2 x families of 4 (all adults), all inclusive. Hipotel La Geria is a lovely hotel. It's spacious, clean, quiet (maybe too quiet for younger groups), good service, nice rooms & pool. Location was spot on for us, across the road from a huge beach, local shops, bars and restaurants, and the centre of Puerto del Carmen is a half hour walk or €5 taxi. The only thing that let it down for us was the lack of variety of food - it's a bit groundhog day. The food itself was fine it was just pretty much the same each day and lacking the normal theme nights that AI hotels usually do. We always eat out a couple of evenings, even when doing AI, but this trip we went out 4 evenings (including the last 2). Overall a lovely holiday and we'd potentially come back but do B&B.

This hotel could be the best on the island with some improvements. POSITIVES: The rooms are exceptionally clean, well maintained and spacious. All come with a sea view by design of the hotel. The communal and reception areas of the hotel are again very clean and well maintained. The pool is fantastic, really big and even when aqua Zumba is going on with 30+ participants you can swim well away and not get in anyone's way. Ishmael from the entertainment team in all honesty carries the team... and it's a duo! He's one of the best entertainment members of staff we've ever come across. The pool bar is excellent, largely self service unless wanting alcohol and super creamy ice cream was also self service which was great. Fresh fruit available daily and all hot food prepared and served fresh. A WORD OF WARNING; This hotel really isn't family friendly. Its atmosphere activities and layout are all geared towards adults. Balls and inflatables are not allowed unless being used by the entertainment team during aqua Zumba or water polo. This didn't bother us as we are a family of adults and we really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Children would get very bored very quickly, in my opinion they should just bite the bullet and make it adults only. The food offering is also catered far more towards adults than children, the usual offerings on a children's menu; nuggets, fish fingers, burgers, are not readily available, we encountered burgers once during a 10 night stay, but battered tentacles were there quite often! NEGATIVES; The food in the main restaurant. Having paid for all inclusive we ate out more than we ate in. We did always go in and take a look at the main restaurant before giving it a swerve. The main restaurant itself wasn't air conditioned and was actually quite hot and stuffy. Salad and fruit ended up warm, dehydrated and looking pretty sorry for itself. Cheese became sweaty and jelly at room temperature isn't pleasant. Buffets are what they are, they are monotonous salad, bread, cheese, fruit - however being unable to get anything hot that's meant to be hot and cold that's supposed to be cold isn't great. The metal trays and turtle style heat lamps unfortunately don't cut it for hot food neither does fruit and salad in bows and on plates. Proper heating and cooling units are needed. The show cooking area is too small, the queue around that area gets very crowded very quickly. The labelling of food also needs to be addressed. One evening there was a label for beef steak and it was actually beef liver. There was also a little cake labelled chocolate brownie... no mention of the walnut pieces in the middle of it. I personally don't like nuts but had someone and an allergy it could have been a different story. Also didn't appreciate one evening the pasta being replenished and a clean serving spoon being put next to it, to use it and the chef to have a menty b over it being for a different dish? i did apologise and said sorry you put it next to it. She continued to go on at me in a language I didn't know so I have no idea what she was saying but she wasn't best pleased. It's a spoon love, chill out a bit! There are other hotels on the island that are serving far superior and better quality of food of the same budget and * rating and that's kept at the correct temperatures with proper heating and cooling units. Would i return? Yes, would i eat at the main restaurant? No, not unless considerable improvements were made.
